We have just arrived back from an 8 night stay at Little Paddock.
What a lovely little site! It is no secret that there is road noise but we found we got used to it quickly and was more than compensated for by the great facilities, lovely atmosphere and friendly owners of this super site.
There is a maximum of only 5 caravans here and therefore no feeling of being crowded in like sardines, some pitches are very gently sloping so we had no trouble levelling.
The showers are hot and are cleaned each morning on the dot. What really made our stay though were the facilities here-there is an outdoor heated swimming pool with a roof for swimming in all weathers, a hot tub in its own annex, a short tennis court and table tennis table complete with bats and balls. There is even direct access to Avon Heath Country Park, great for walkers and dog walkers alike. All this from a small, friendly, flexible and accommodating site- and adults only too!
We would love to return next year!

Lovely site with very friendly owners.
On arrival, Brett and Sue offered us a cold drinks and a tour of the site including swimming pool (very welcome after setting up in the sun!), hot tub and sauna. Facilities clean & perfectly adequate for a 5 pitch site.
Some traffic noise overnight, but not too disturbing as it is more of a steady background 'whoosh'! If all else fails, there is a supply of ear plugs in the welcome room, along with details of local pubs and places to visit.
We are already planning a return visit next year.

We enjoyed a four night stay at this CL site. Brett and Sue make you feel very welcome.
There is some road noise and slight muffled noise from the kennels near by. Nothing you can't get used to!
It was nice to have the swimming pool, as we had warm weather, but we did use it when it was overcast as there is a cover over it, very good as Brett keeps it warm.
Great having a hot tub especially just before bed.
The shower and toilet facilities are adequate for five pitches and kept clean.
There are also lodges and rooms available, Sue showed us round - very nice.
We can't knock the place, although you only have the woodland to do your walking, but good.
Bournemouth and Poole are less than 10 miles away - brilliant.
I'm sure we will return.

Just returned home from our first visit to Little Paddock campsite and we cannot thank Brett and Sue enough, they really do know how to make their guests welcome.
Brett met us on our arrival with tea and coffee, after which we we're shown around the site. As others have mentioned there is some noise from the A338 and the dog kennels next door but you get used to this and tend to ignore it after awhile.
We have already booked our next visit and would highly recommend this site.

Just returned from our third visit to this wonderful CL site. My Husband, myself & our Staffordshire Bull Terrier (Amie) first visited this site in September 2010 - we enjoyed our stay so much that we immediately booked for an eight night stay in early December 2010.
During our stay in December, we experienced a downfall of approx. 4 inches of snow, magical! Our walks through the adjacent forest parkland area (entrance at rear of Little Paddock) were wonderful, and spectacularly beautiful with or without snowfall!
During our most recent stay, we experienced the new hot tub (not many CL sites can boast this treat!) sheer bliss! The swimming pool is also inviting, at a constant temp of 29 degrees.
Everything at Little Paddock is exceptional, with much attention to detail. The owners, Sue & Brett couldn't be more helpful & accommodating.
I feel I simply must comment on previous negative review (the only negative review!) with regard to 'road noise' - yes, there is road noise, but as previous reviewers have stated, you simply do not notice this once settled on site.
We have also found the cleanliness of the shower block to be 'spot on' and have found the showers to be nice with plentiful amounts of hot water. We have again just put a deposit down for another eight night stay in early December 2011.

We have registered with UKCampsite.co.uk in order to firstly thank everyone for their reviews and secondly to respond to the last review as this sums up our decision to only offer our CL to adults from 2011.
Our toilet block is cleaned every day and since we have just had adults using it, it now stays clean.
We no longer have any issues with hot water as we no longer find hot taps and hot showers left running. We are on a 24 hour immersion and our showers are free.
We spent £11,000 on our pool safety cover in order to offer parents peace of mind and protect children from drowning and keep the pool warm and clean. The cover slides back in the sunny weather but it is lovely to swim under when it is cold outside.
We have direct access to Avon forest from our property and are only 9mins drive from Burley and 5 mins from Ringwood which offers lots of nice restaurants and cafes.
We are a gently sloping site, so drain well with the quietest pitches being nearest to the road as the A338 to which reviewers refer is higher than Hurn Road.
We are not a quiet site but advise everyone about this before they book.
We no longer have to clear up toys left all over the field and the hut now contains brochures and information / maps.

We stayed here for a 3 night stopover and we must say that having read such great reviews we were a little disappointed. The owners were very friendly and welcoming and there were a lot of facilities for a CL but we felt the quality just was not quite there.
We found the road noise extremely loud so we did not feel it was relaxing place to be. The shower/toilet block was not as clean as I would have liked and 2 times out of 3 when I tried to have a shower the water was cold.
We did not go in the swimming pool as it just did not look very inviting - it had a clear 'roof' on which was really low down we were just not inspired to try it.
It was also a bit in the middle of nowhere - not really in the New Forest but quite a drive from the coast too and the nearest town, Ringwood, was not very inspiring.
When we arrived there were a choice of 2 pitches - one very close to the noisy road and another a bit further away which we chose - however, it was almost impossible to level our van even with levelling ramps and in the end we had to put up with a slopey bit to one side.
However, our kids loved it as the play area and a big green space was visible from all the pitches and they could play with other children on the site while we could see them. There was also a shed with lots of outdoor toys for the children to bring out.
I am sure for some people this is a great site but it would not be one that we would return to.

Well what a little gem of a campsite this turned out to be. My husband and I spent 6 nights here arriving with my parents with two caravans and, like others have suggested, greeted with a tray or tea, coffee and biscuits.
Each pitch has its own chimnea with an abundance of kindling to help yourselves to. There are three covered seated areas to share between the caravans. We were sited near to the small Park area and had one of the little wooden gazebos to ourselves for the whole stay.
Brett gave us a tour of the site and facilities which really is impressive. The bottom paddock is the touring field, with a path leading to the heated swimming pool with sauna and jacuzzi. You are required to add your name to the board outside the Hot Tub room to allow sufficient time to heat it up and then it is yours for an hour - more than enough time. The pool looked very inviting but the weather wasn't up to must so we didn't partake.
The road noise and kennels seem loud when you first arrive but soon blended in once you got used to it. The site pros most definitely out way any cons with the road noise. At the top of the site, are the log cabins - very romantic - each have their own veg patch for visitors to help themselves to. The wooden gazebos in the touring field also had the same growing plums, runner beans and tomato plants!
There is a back gate which leads directly into the Avon Heath County Park, which was awash with purple Rhododendrons - so pretty with Deer and rabbits and flora and fauna to tempt you to walk on further! There is also a little map to show you the way to the country tea rooms!
In the touring field, there is an information hut which covers all tastes but what I liked most was the fact that they stocked garden games like Garden Jenga and Giant skittles - we spent many evenings challenging each other to 'Just one more game' of Jenga over a glass or two of wine.
It is also worth noting that Brett and Sue also have a licence to sell alcohol - this came in rather handy when it got to 9pm on the last night only to realise that there was no wine left. Well known wines for a similar price as the supermarket prices!

We arrived to a warm welcome and a tray of tea and biscuits,Sue and Brett are wonderful hosts and passionate about their guests having the best time possible with them.
We had a lovely chat with Sue although she was very busy putting in her new plants. All the comments before are spot on and I'd thoroughly recommend a stay at little Paddock if you are looking for excellent facilities within a spacious and secure environment.
While we were there we asked Sue if we could have a look at the lodges available and were amazed by them. They are so beautifully furnished. You have to see them to believe it. The reason we were keen to have a look is that we have friends/family who don't caravan and it would be an ideal solution for a holiday to suit everyone. There is also a static van available in the corner of the site so a whole family could holiday together.
If you want silence this won't be the place for you as the road noise is present all the time but it didn't keep us awake and we could still hear the birds singing.I don't believe you could find a nicer place to stay with such exceptional facilities,I'm looking forward to my next visit!

Having had this site recommended from a colleague and looking at the reviews on this site we decided that we would try it out for our after Christmas break
What a fantastic place, yes there is road noise which is very prominent, However after a few hours you just get used to it,
We we're welcomed with a cuppa and shown to our pitch, we we're shown the facilities which was great.
The attention to detail from the owners Brett and Sue is impeccable, even the chimneas on each pitch had wood ready to put in them. We even managed to have a breakfast BBQ outside which we enjoyed under one of the three wooden Gazebos on the site with picnic bench located underneath
There is even a play area for children (quite unusual for a CL)
The sauna and Hot tub is excellent, you have to pay £5 for up to 2 hours but is worth every penny. Again attention to detail is fantastic, they even left plastic wine glasses to enjoy your favourite tipple in the hot tub.
The site is ideally located for Ringwood and Bournemouth and is really easy to get to (about 5 mins from A31) Bournemouth is about 20 minutes drive and has enough to keep the whole family occupied for a day.
The walks around the area are also superb and a short drive in the car will take you to some great places to explore.
Will definitely go back and will try and go in the summer to try and use the swimming pool (closed in winter)
Only other downside apart from the road is there is no pub in walking distance but in our opinion well worth the sacrifice.
Overall a lovely, friendly personalised place that we will definitely want to return to.
