Easy to find, signposted clearly from road. Drove onto site & person came out of house, took money & said to park anywhere. (Never saw any people from site again). Electric on the hardstanding pitches & grass by the side. Perfect for the awning.
Well set out, some tubs waiting for flowers with solar lights. Site close to road, traffic little noisy. I chose one of the pitches furthest away with view of field & trees. Surprised not many units there as it's a cheap site. Toilet block near house.
Men one side, ladies other. Two toilets, sink & one shower. Lights did not work & one toilet door hard to open as it scraped on floor. In need of maintenance & decoration, but it's not as though I was staying in the toilet block!
There is a chemical disposal but the hospipe attachment shot water in all directions, mostly over me! So take care if you use that. Fuel station with good shop next door, wide range of products. Close to Stirling (use the Park & Ride, it goes by the castle).
Callander well worth a visit. Doune castle does not allow motorhomes, use village car park & walk up.

Pleasant, quiet, very well kept site with hard standings. Small toilet block. Walked to hotel in Doune (about a mile away), which was well worth the walk. Food and drinks where excellent, reasonably priced.
Staff very cheery and efficient. Only 1 other motorhome on site whilst here, which seems strange as the cost was only £20. 00 per night with electrics and as previously stated very nice site !

We had a 5 man tunnel tent. Lots of room beside us in all directions and grass electric hook up with space beside the tent for the car. Welcoming my site and lovely family greeted us.
Male and female toilets on site both with a power shower. It's clean it's tidy exactly what you need. Water and waste disposal on site. Lovely horse to:) 3G and 4g available for any teenagers coming :) really quiet and small site which works in its favour.
Couldn't of been happier with our stay we stayed 2 nights. Blair Drummond only 4 miles away. Doune castle down the road. Close to Stirling. Fuel station a mile away. Will definitely be back :) loved it!
Only negative but not to us is there is a road close by site but it's fenced nicely with trees around the noise isn't too bad and it wasn't that busy and we went in school hol Days. I would definitely recommend.

For £18 a night I can't see what you get? one toilet block with 2 loos in each gents and ladies and one shower in each. Had to ask for heating to be put on. And shower area really could use a deep clean! NO other facilities. Not even a pot wash area!
Not a plant or flower on site. Nothing 'nice' about it. Been to other sites similarly priced with loads of facilities. Yes the area is great, fab for the tourist scene in the area as its very central.
Surely at £18 a night the owners could put a swing and a slide in for the kids, fill a few hanging baskets or plant pots, leaflets about the local area and surely a pot wash area is a must(especially as they allow tents) Yes ok we were there end of season.
But even though it was quiet and we more or less had the place to ourselves, we still found it 'lacking' some COMFORTS! Basic is as basic is but then there is Ashmill. In saying that the owner was lovely when we spoke! I hope she reads this!

This is a small site just next to the main road near Doune. There is a garage adjacent to the site which has a shop, alternatively a short walk along the main road brings you to the pleasant village of Doune with a Coop, castle and other facilities.
I had booked this site and was quoted £15 for myself and a small tent but the friendly owner only charged £10 when I arrived. The toilet / shower block is small but adequate for the size of the site.
The showers are free however the block is in need of maintenance and although I appeared to be the only person on site it was not as clean as it should be. At night I was concerned about noise from the road which was quite loud but traffic died down later in the evening.
Although the area itself is quite pleasant the site itself does not have great views.

The facts
Easy access from A84
Drive access over grown with weeds on both sides, render and paint falling off wall, sign fallen down.
Pitches are tarmac some level some not.
Grass was being cut as we arrived but in my opinion not cut short enough. Edges not trimmed leaving a scruffy appearance. Grass edges around the perimeter not trimmed.
Toilet block in desperate need of attention, cracked tile and grout missing in male shower, paint flaking off wall in male wc, one cold tap not working, lock missing on door in female facilities, paintwork in both facilities needs attention inside and outside.
Chemical toilet disposal needs re cementing around gully, no hose on tap to swill round.
Electric shower in both facilities worked fine.
Traffic noise from the A84 is a problem if the wind is in the wrong direction, this is a very busy road.
Dog walking is limited in the immediate area but this is not the sites fault.
Overall we were very disappointed with this site as the pictures and description on their website do not portray an accurate image of the site as it is now. There is potential for this site but the proximity of the A84 is a problem.
We will not be returning.

I have come here every year for the last 3 or 4 years during easter weekend with the kids. We love that its a nice, clean, small caravan park so the kids cant disappear.
The owners are very friendly, one year they had a bouncy castle for their kids and even asked if our oldest daughter wanted to go and play too.
We plan on returning to this site every year as we thoroughly enjoy it there. Its quiet and everything we look for.
Brilliant site.

Visited on the spur of the moment and were able to accommodate us at short notice and at a reasonable price. Immediately next to a shop.
However the on site facilities were found wanting, no hot water in the toilets, only one shower which was thankfully electric and did produce hot water and no washing up facilities.
Also the shop was part of a complex which included a petrol station and various work shops all of which were noisy until quite late.

Well laid out site. Warm welcome on arrival and told to use any of the available pitches.
Our dog attracted some of the children staying on the site and mothers were quickly over to ensure they were not causing a nuisance which they were not.
Only stayed one night as a stopover going south, but would certainly use again in the future.
