What a fabulous small family friendly campsite. No dogs allowed meant that I didn't have to worry about my child standing in dog poo when he went off to play. Lovely setting. It's only a short drive to the gorgeous beach with lots of rock pools for the kids to explore, surfing and good eating options. This campsite really was an amazing find for us. It was a fabulous base to explore Tintagel, Bude and surrounding areas. We spent a week here and could easily have spent another. The pitch sizes are generous, toilets and showers immaculate and the owners are very friendly and helpful. We will be back!

We had a wonderful few days here and the owners went out of their way to make sure that we were comfortable. They were extremely busy all day cleaning and making sure that the site was at its best. The site is well positioned for Crackington beach and there is a bus which stops a few yards from the site entrance. This same bus will take you to many places between Bude and Wadebridge. We had no problem with noise except for the occasional 'boy racer' which is not the owners fault ! The only fault we could see was the size and layout of the toilet facilities. Having the toilets separate from the showers was inconvenient. We thought that they were inadequate for the site and had to queue on occasions, something which we haven't had to do before.

Lovely site, good location. Ann & Rodney the owners very friendly and helpful, I was even offered assistance putting my tent up in the wind. Two ladies showers, free, smart and clean, with plenty of hot water, 2 basins, hairdryer, hand dryer. Two toilets in separate area with hand basin, soap and hand dryer. Plenty of loo roll and kept spotless. Don't know about the Gents. 3 under cover sinks for washing up with hot water. Fridge/freezer, microwave, washer and tumble dryer. Very slight slope on the field but nothing major. Backs on to the lane which can be a little noisy in a tent, with traffic heading towards Crackington Haven, guess not a problem in a caravan or motorhome. Kiddies play area in a little wooded section, area in middle of site for ball games. Fair walk to Crackington Haven as mentioned in other reviews, uphill on the way back but didn't walk there. Fabulous coastal walking if a little on the difficult side. I used the campsite as a base for walking between Bude and Boscastle. Grass nicely mown and clippings not left behind. Marked pitches, very spacious, some have EHU. Excellent value for money, would definitely stay here again. Ann & Rodney take pride in their campsite, if only all campsites were as good!

Well positioned for Crackington Haven beach with it's pub and cafe and a very short drive to a very reasonably priced petrol station and corner shop for the essentials.
The campsite itself it very well maintained and extremely clean, the owners clearly spend a lot of time and energy maintaining the place. There are some very nice touches, i. E. Freezer and fridge free to use and coin operated laundry(washing machine & dryer). The only issue we had and I'm amazed no-one else has mentioned it is the road noise. We were camped next to the road (your pitch is assigned by the owner on arrival) and every time a car passed at speed the entire tent shook as well as obviously the noise. The back of our pitch was a hedges width from the road and the noise woke us most nights in the early hours as people sped up the road.
That aside the site and owners are excellent and is ridiculously good value at 7 quid pppn ! I would definitely go again but I would ask to be pitched away from the top of the field.

We have just returned from another wonderful stay at this site. It's a very peaceful and quiet family orientated site. The owners are always on site to offer any help and local advice. The pitches are of a generous size, this year I saw families with a family tent and also an event type tent being used as a kitchen and communal area all on the same pitch. There is always plenty of hot water and the shower and toilets are always kept in a clean and tidy state. You have the use of a washing machine and tumble dryer for a small cost. You also have the use of a fridge freezer and microwave for free. The reception area has plenty of local information and a TV area.
Crackington Haven is about a 30 minute walk down the hill and a little longer back up, use the public footpath and you can enjoy a lovely walk in the local woods. The Coombe Barton Inn overlooks the beach with wonderful views. The prices were on a par for most pubs we visited on the coast, it can get busy so if you want a beach view in the evening it is best to book. The Old Wainhouse Inn is another nice pub which is about a 5 minute drive inland, you get a 10% discount if you mention that you are staying at the campsite and this includes the takeaway menu (give the cheese burger and chips a go).
Widemouth Bay is the nearest beach for family fun which is about a 10 minute drive towards Bude. The beach is excellent for surfing and family fun, it also has a café and toilets. It does get busy and parking can get a bit tight. The nearest supermarket is a Sainsburys in Bude although there is a local shop next to The Old Wainhouse Inn.
If you enjoy coastal walks then this is an ideal site. We make use of the 595 bus which stops at the end of the road and will take you in either direction up the coast, we then enjoy a family day walking back to Crackington Haven. We of course have some light refreshment at The Coombe Barton before heading back up the hill.
I can't fault this site and would happily recommend it to anyone who wants a nice quiet escape.

What a gem this campsite is. Lovely, quiet site with beautiful views of the countryside. Beautifully kept pitches, not too close together. A warm welcome from the owners for that personal touch. Immaculately clean toilet block and showers. Plenty of hot water. Washing up area under cover for those inclement days.
Close to the beautiful Crackington Haven cove, with pub, car park and café close at hand.
Local amenities not too far away for those grocery needs.
Will definitely return here and recommend it highly.

Nice camp site, very helpful owners. We stayed for just under two weeks, the weather was awful.
We arrived late and had to pitch in the dark, one of the owners helped us pitch.
All facilities were clean and very useable. Showers had plenty of space and loads of free hot water.
The pub just up the road was very good and you got a 10% discount if you came from this campsite.
Nearest supermarket is Morrison's in Bude, but don't go on a Sunday afternoon as it is chaos.
All in all I would highly recommend this site. Lovely people and a very friendly atmosphere.

A wonderful little site with excellent clean facilities. Had to endure the awful weather at the beginning of the week but our tent stood up, thank goodness. Useful having fridge/freezer which we used to refreeze our iceblocks. There is a microwave and washing machine, which were well used but not by us. Kids enjoyed playing the pool table and joining in the football. There was a little play area for little ones. Even though the site was nearly full, I didn't have to queue at the toilets or wash facilities (2 of each for ladies and gents). Site is just outside Crackington Haven where we spent a whole day sitting on the pebbly beach whilst kids body boarded. There are lifeguards on duty all day. No dogs policy which most owners adhered to. We recommend the cornish pasties and cooked breakfast in the Cabin Cafe. Delicious. There are several walks along the coast. Tintagel and Boscastle are close by and we found out that it was 10 years since the floods which hit Boscastle and Crackington Haven on 16 August 2004. The nearest supermarket is Morrison in Bude. The owner is extremely friendly and helpful and was always on hand.

We recently camped at Coxford Meadow for a quick week end break. The owner was most helpful, I emailed her several times before asking questions regarding times of arrival, facilities etc and she responded very quickly. As the site was quite quiet on the Friday evening we were met by Ann and given a choice of pitches. They are all on the flat and well spaced out. All the facilities are modern and kept exceptionally clean. We were very grateful for the use of the fridge/freezer to keep our essentials cool. During the weekend Ann enquired to make sure we were enjoying our stay and had everything we needed which was also very thoughtful! It is set in a beautiful area with gorgeous walks in every direction. Now we have found this site we will definitely be stopping at Coxford Meadow again later on in the summer. Thanks to the very caring owners we had a lovely relaxed week end!
