I really don't want to tell you how wonderful this site is because you will all rush there! It's not just the big pitches or the wonderful play area, nor is it the ultra clean facilities, the great view or the good price.
This is a perfect campsite for those who want to relax, know the children are safe and recieve a friendly welcome everyday from the owners. They are lovely people who go above and beyond to make your stay wonderful.
Crackingdon beach is lovely but we prefer Widemouth which is only a stone through away and allows dogs all year round.
We go abroad and do Centre Parcs but I never relax as much, compared to Coxford. We are on our sixth visit and will be going for years to come.
Only negative. The cow in the next field is a bit loud sometimes!

Have stayed at this campsite three times now and it is definitely the best. Very close to crackington haven where there is a pub that does very good food and one of the best places to see the sunset. Very handy for bude about 8 miles away. The site is very clean. The toilets /showers very clean. I've always enjoyed myself at coxford meadow and hope to visit again very soon. If I could give more than 10 out of 10 I would.

I stayed on this campsite as part of walking the SW coast path and would recommend it to everyone. The owners are genuinely friendly and concerned, ensuring I knew about the en suite room to stay in should my tent be battered as the forecast was very dodgy that week! There is lots of information available in the cosy games room about local attractions and Anne was always happy to answer any questions. The site has all the right facilities, is clean and lovingly tended and the owners kindness was much appreciated.

What a friendly and welcoming campsite!
We arranged to camp for one night and were desperately trying to be cheerful about the forthcoming weather warnings of 60mph winds and torrential rain.
However, our wonderful hosts were kind enough to suggest that we instead try their newly refurbished double en suite apartment. My partner and I jumped at the chance (I have to say the idea of camping in that weather wasn't as welcoming as the joy of a warm double bed!)
We were looked after well by Anne and Rod. They were very attentive and nothing was too much trouble.
I would recommend this site as it is in a lovely location, run by lovely people, easy to get to surrounding areas within minutes by car, and with clean, hot showers - its a godsend!

Excellent service from owners from time of booking to leaving. Good facilities and given personal tour on arrival by owner. Very clean and looks like newly refurbished showers and toilets. Plenty of hot water and free washing up. Free use of microwave and freezer.
Good size pitches and views of sea from some. There were only one or two other campers for most of our stay and it was therefore very quiet - which we like. Most of those who were staying appeared to be walkers. We were happy to leave our bikes chained to a tree when we went out and know that the owners kept a close eye on the campsite for extra security.
Steep walk down to Crackington Haven and pub quite expensive. Pub at Wainwright Corner better value but you need a vehicle to get there in the evening.
We didn't have an electric hook up as we felt this was expensive on top of the £7 per person site fee. Perhaps the provision of metered electricity could be investigated as we have found this a much fairer way of charging units like us who have a limited number of electrical items and who are not on site for many hours a day.
We felt the access to the site would be difficult for any vehicle larger than ours (6m long) and perhaps impossible for a caravan?

We arrived at this site, pitched and then faced a force 4 gale that night! Bell tent stood up brilliantly but it was nerve racking. Rod and Anne were brilliant for the whole of our stay. Very, very thoughtful and helpful and concerned when our dog became ill. Anne found us the vet number and checked each day with us how things were going. Great showers, free, hot and very clean, free hot washing up water, fridge, freezer and microwave. Washing machine and dryer, very reasonable price. All in all a lovely, welcoming, well maintained site - which we had to ourselves for 2 nights of our stay. Will go again - dog friendly. By the way, Widemouth bay is a lovely easy to reach beach.

Stayed here in 'high' season, in a folding camper with my two children, ages 7 & 9, also with my parents in another folding camper.
Pitches were a good size, big play area in middle of field, a wooded area with swings etc, and a playroom with a pool table.
Good location with easy enough access to many places. Weather was up and down but the site and facilities coped fine.
Owners, Rodney and Ann, were friendly and helpful without ever being intrusive.
Two showers and two (quite small) toilets for the ladies, and I believe the same for the men. Kept clean throughout the day, by Ann or Rodney popping in and out when neccesary.
Sea view from the pitches where we were (closest to the house), lovely sunsets in the clearer evenings, only down side to these pitches is that you are right next to the rubbish bins, which other campers use at all time of day and NIGHT, by just dropping in glass bottles, and letting bin lid bang down, which unfortunately did disturb the kids at times, and us also. So not really a fault of the site, just other campers not really thinking about the noise they are making right next to somebodys bed!
No shop on site, but we don't mind this, very few pitches, which again we don't mind in fact we look for that in a site. But there is a garage, with a shop and another little shop next to it, about 5mins from the site.
We would return to this site, and would recommend it to others who want a nice small quiet site with friendly owners.

Pro's
Permanent free hot water. Ladies showers good, mens adequate and always hot. Good fridge/freezer. Plus use of free microwave and the washing machine and tumble-dryer at a small cost. Flat pitches, plenty of EHU's AND we were lent an extension lead by the owners. Friendly owners on hand to check all is well.
Fabulous little beach down in Crackington Haven with life guards, our son learnt to body board and we all loved the rock pools. Get there early by car if you want a parking space.
Great base for exploring North East Cornwall.
Con's
Ladies loos a bit on the tired side, never dirty but the left one always whiffed a bit and the right one only had a window with slatted shutters between you and the people outside washing up!
If you book late (as we did, so our fault) you could end up in 'The Woods'. Not the best place for socializing and THE place for the kids to play who don't mind running around your tent and actually using the wooded area as their personal urinal!
Overall, we would visit again and recommend this cosy little site but would ask not to be put in 'The Woods'.

We loved this small site. We are a family of 5 with children from 9 to 4 and it suited us perfectly. There were lots of children who all played together thanks to the football pitch in the middle of the site and the small play area & woods at the side. The toilet block & showers were always clean and there was permanently hot water. The owners are delightful and work very hard to make sure the site runs smoothly and everyone is OK. There's a microwave & a fridge for general use and a small room with a pool table & TV for the children. Crackington Haven is a lovely little beach but too far to walk with all paraphernalia we take to the beach; you have to pay to park. We'll definitely be visiting again.

What a fabulous little site. We were greeted like old friends by Anne and Rodney the campsite owners. They personally showed us to our pitch and told us to give them a shout if we needed anything.
There are various size pitches around the outside of the field and a good sized football area in the middle. This was made use of the whole time that we were there.
The site is immaculately clean, and well cared for. The toilets, showers and washing up area were being cleaned and checked throughout the day.
Crackington Haven beach is a five minute max drive away, but a very steep hill. We did walk down a few times, but it is no fun walking back with children and all the beach paraphernalia that we take with us. There is a bus that passed the end of the site every couple and hours, so we did make use of that. There is a pay and display car park too.
Bude is a 10 min drive away which has a large Morrisions for stocking up.
Anne and Rodney are the friendliest owners that we have ever experienced and nothing is too much of a problem for them. They had the answer to all of our questions and if they didn't know Anne would soon be back with the answer after looking it up on the internet.
I think it is also worth mentioning the en-suite room that they also have available. This was great for us as, some of our family wanted to spend the week with us, but did not want to camp. They spent the day with us at the tent and then retired to a 'proper bed' at night.
The only downside that we found over the whole fortnight was the fact that the washing up station is directly outside the ladies loos, and that can be very off putting when you are sat contemplating, listening to other campers chatting about their day (though interesting too!)
A fab site, we would definitely visit again.
