Beautiful location, lovely open site. Just a 15 minute walk from Banchory.
Friendly staff and amazing facilities as expected with a club site. Great for walks, on the Deeside way.
Morrisons on your doorstep for all your shopping so no need to stock up before you leave.
A site we'll definitely go back to.

Booked this site due to its proximity to Aberdeen and stonehaven. Both are easily accessible from this site. Situated on the main A9 road into the village centre. Lovely little site.
Immaculate pitches and facilities as expected with caravan club sites. Large Tesco within easy walking distance. Also Morrisons slightly further but easily walkable. The village centre is about two miles away along the A9.
Road noise was a slight disturbance but not excessive so. The 202 bus to Aberdeen and stonehaven stops outside the site entrance. Very friendly wardens.
We will certainly return to this site

Just back from 4 nights at this site. As previously said site is faultless, very clean toilets and no queuing with site full.
Site is beside busy a93 and a lot of road noise can be heard also sawmill had forklifts working from 6. 30 in the morning, reversing buzzers all day.
The track to the deeside way is a muddy track down the side of the site from the main road and no foot path from site entrance.

We were really quite impressed with this site. On the side of the main road so some traffic noise - but quiet enough during the night not to bother us. Just below the site is the Dee River, the footpath along the river takes you right into town without going along the main road.
Whole site is immaculately kept by the wardens, pitches are hardstanding and very big. Motorhome dump point, ehu etc that you expect from CC sites.
As per previous post only 1 facilities block, 3 showers in ladies. Despite site being nearly full we didn't have to queue once. As always toilets and showers spotless. Wardens were helpful and friendly - office was open 9am-11am and 2pm-5pm.
We rode the Deeside Way bike path down to Aberdeen and back. You can get on a few yards from the site. Almost flat ride practically all on cycle paths right into the city. It's 17 miles each way but very easy ride and well worth the views as you cycle alongside the Dee.
Not sure we could fault this site, well placed for the coast and Braemar etc. Tesco less than 5 minutes walk across the road, town has everything you could need.

Silverback as previous reviewers have said is a nice campsite very open surrounded by trees. However although the facilities are spotless there are not enough showers for the size of the site so expect to queue unless you get up very early. There are a few negatives these being:
One of the wardens can sometimes be quite snappy
One of the prime pitches is always closed marked off with cones as this is where the warden keeps her large jeep.
You are not allowed to arrive before 12 so when you arrive after that the office is closed what is the point in that.
There does appear to be rules for some and not others we had a visitor and was told they had to park in the tiny car park outside the site but others were allowed to take cars to pitches one in particular stayed overnight parked on the walkway.
We particularly did not appreciate the warden taking her horse on site and allowing it to urinate right outside the office/shop where the smell hung about for quite a while.
Banchory itself is a lovely place to visit with plenty to see and do. There are a couple of very nice garden centres.

Silverbank is a beautifully maintained site sandwiched between the busy A93 and the river Dee.
It is completely level, has generous hardstanding pitches and is laid out with an almost geometrical precision, giving it a slightly formal feel.
Being close to a main road and a sawmill, it is also quite noisy at times.
Banchory, which is a pleasant town with good shops and cafes, is an easy walk away. It all sounds ideal, but somehow it all lacks the character of other Deeside towns such as Ballater and Braemar.
Its main redeeming factor is the Deeside Way - the walking / cycle track that largely follows the disused railway that once carried Queen Victoria to her home at Balmoral. You can walk or cycle from Silverbank to Aberdeen if you choose and when the final section is completed, west to Ballater.
Nearer to the site, the restored railway line at Crathes offers short trips. The line is hopefully being extended to Banchory. From the station at Crathes it is only a short walk to Crathes castle and gardens. If you want to visit the castle, a path leads from the west lodge just a few minutes from the site.
Overall, Silverbank is an ideal site for exploring Deeside, especially by bicycle or on foot. It is a pity that it does not cater for tents.

Recommended CC site with very welcoming wardens
Located just off the A93, but noise from the road not a problem at all.
The site is composed of VERY generously sized hard-standing pitches. I could have fitted 3 of my size campervans on to our pitch!
Full facilities available: Showers, dishwashing/veg prep area, Motorhome service point, washing machine and drier etc.
Morrison and Tesco are within walking distance. Both provide fuel.

This is a great location with easy access and is a well laid out, flat site. The site facilities are excellent and immaculately clean and there's a useful shop for basics at reception. Digital television reception is good.
Banchory is within walking distance, approximately 15 minutes and a Morrisons store with a cafe and Petrol station is even nearer, so functioning at this site couldn't be easier.
The wardens are absolutely lovely and very welcoming and I think of this site every time I drink from the mug I bought at reception which has a stunning photo of a red squirrel on it, taken by Errol and sold in aid of the RNLI. His Majesty's Theatre Aberdeen is only 16. 5 miles away and just 35 minutes drive.
I had 3 very happy, sometimes snowy weeks here and would love to return one day.

Have just returned from a 5 night break on this site as we were attending a Rally held by the Scottish Caravan Club. The site is close to the A93 and there is a degree of road noise if you pitch near the perimeter apart from that I could not fault the site at all, the wardens Errol & Kerry are extremely helpful and friendly and nothing is too much trouble. The shower and toilet facilities are the usual C.C standard and spotlessly clean and warm which was much appreciated as we had several nights when the temperature was below freezing. Banchory is a 15 minute walk into the town centre and there is a new Morrisons supermarket with a cafe and filling station close to the site. The site is probably more suited to Adults than families as there is no play area but aside that its a cracking site and an excellent base for exploring Royal Deeside.
We will definitely return

This is a very nice site, well laid out and spacious even though it was full. Clean facilities, taps, drains and bins and nice people. £13.80 a night, some traffic noise all night, otherwise very quiet, good TV reception.
Would definitely use again. 20 minutes drive to Aberdeen.
Morrisons supermarket and petrol station close by, and short walk to small town of Banchory.
