This site is immaculate with spacious hardstandings, some with hedges separating them. Easy access from the A93 and the site is only a little way outside Banchory. The facilities on site are of the usual Caravan Club standard and well looked after. There are no play facilities for children and only a small dog walk on site.

Silverbank is next to a small industrial estate and although this cannot be seen, we did find the constant sound of reversing warning signals intrusive. There is also some road noise.
The town has all the usual takeaways and a number of restaurants and coffee shops. There's also a Morrisons supermarket and petrol station.

We watched salmon leaping at the Falls of Feugh (within walking distance of the site). The site is well placed for visiting Royal Deeside and Aberdeen. The Cairngorms and Speyside (for the Whisky Trail) are also within reach. Crathes Castle is just down the road and makes for an interesting visit.

Been to this site a few times, it's very good and only a short walk to Banchory. Friendly wardens who care, very clean facilities and a very well kept site. The site is fairly level with a simple oval track layout but some pitches have limited satellite view due to trees so pick carefully. Digital TV is available with plenty of signal so no need to bother with the satellite if you don't want to. The new CC booking system means you just drive in a pitch up, then pay. Seems to work OK.

This site will be open for New Year 2010, so book soon as it's going to be very popular as this year will be it's first time open at that time of year.

The short distance to Banchory is best covered using a mountain bike, the town has all the usual facilities including a small shop on the main street dedicated to chocolate! We tried the hot chocolate drink and found it a chocolate too far, but you must still visit. At some times in the year, there are various things (like concerts and fun fairs) organised for the park you pass on the way to the town.

There is a well-stocked Somerfield supermarket although some prices will raise eyebrows when compared to big city supermarkets. Pub (Scott Skinners) nearish but not tried although it has a good reputation with locals.

We could do with a regular pitch at this site, it's great.

A very nice well maintained site with a lovely clean and warm toilet block. There is some nice walks along tne river dee just off site. The town of Banchory is about a 20 min walk along the river and has some lovely shops.
The large parks in town are great for kids and are very well looked after. The caravan site itself would benefit from a small play area for kids. We did also notice quite a lot of road noise so you would be better on the far side, away from the road.

As usual with CC this is a clean, quiet site. It's a bit dull - all hardstanding, every blade of grass mowed to an inch of its life, very little landscaping so although pitches are decent size you get very little privacy.
The beautiful river Dee runs at the back of the site but sadly there are no views to the river. However the riverside path can be reached in under five minutes and there are lovely walks in either direction. Better to walk dogs here rather than on the (very small) on site dog-walk.
45 mins brisk walking along the riverbank brings you to the main entrance of Crathes Castle (nice wooded grounds, beautiful gardens). There's a small supermarket near the site but the main centre of Banchory is further away than you might think from looking at the map. Town is Ok if nothing special. If you are heading on to Braemar the road is good and it makes a pretty drive between the two sites.

 Just perfect.

Clean, attractive and with beautiful facilities.

Loads to do in the surrounding areas, including the Lewis Grassic Gibbon Centre if you don't mind a bit of a drive.

Relatively easy access from the main Dundee Aberdeen road, just follow the CC directions.

Open site just off the Aberdeen to Braemar Road which runs parallel with the River Dee through splendid countryside. Banchory is a popular little holiday town with family activities including pony trekking, fishing and golf. Take time to visit Aberdeen, capital of the Grampian Highlands and Britain's Cleanest City with its floral displays, clean sandy beach, narrow cobbled streets near the busy harbour and Maritime Museum. There is also a hands-on science centre, Satrosphere, and the Family History Shop. There are plenty of walking choices: a walk of 2½ miles will bring you to the Bridge of Feugh where you can sometimes spot salmon leaping up the falls; for a longer walk, explore Glen Muick where you can go right round the loch and will certainly spot deer.
That's The Caravan Club official view.

I don't think they do this site justice. Its extremely well maintained. The wardens were helpful and courteous and couldn't do enough to help.  The Shower/Toilet block is immaculate and warm with Privacy cubicles and everything you could want in them. Well lit at night and the roads around the site are in first class condition. At around £17.50pn for two adults, a Trailer Tent and an old dog, it seemed reasonable value for peak period.
The pitches are big and wide and you can accommodate an additional toilet tent or kitchen ten without any problems.[These are permitted by the CC].  Down side! The pitches are hard standing. Extremely hard standing. Very difficult to peg out a TT or large awning. Shared EHU stands which can be a bit distant from the pitches. [I needed a 10 mtr extension] But that's it. There is a shop supplying papers and rolls in the morning. Safeway is a 3 minute drive. All things considered, the CC should make this a 4 star site. I would. There is no play area for kids tho, which means it is very popular with older people. Check it out - its worth it.
