Lovely quiet site.
Bad points:
1. Gents toilet facilities are in dire need of updating. Two WCs and a basin in a very dilapidated portable cabin are not sufficient.
2. Because of the first point £20 per night is too much although it would be a very reasonable price if the gents facilities were better.
Good points:
1. The location is great with lovely views over the countryside and sea towards Falmouth. Also, the local village with pubs and local stores is an easy walk.
2. Very friendly and helpful staff.
3. Chilled out atmosphere as is normal on these type of basic campsites.
4. No light pollution from the surroundings or intrusive site lighting (bring a torch).
3. Ladies toilets and unisex showers fine (and clean) although seats and more hooks in the shower cubicles would have been nice.
Would we go there again?
Definitely a yes to that question.

Our second visit recently was for 4 nights. The campsite is as nice as ever. Basic (the gents washing facilities - one basin - are inadequate) but the views and location more than make up for that. A 10 minute walk is to St Keverne, which is a lovely place. It has a newsagent, a small supermarket and two pubs, The White Hart and The Three Tuns. Both serve good ale, with the latter being more traditionally styled internally. Both a child friendly all day.
The weather was glorious, so we were lucky. Take note, the downside of a lovely hilltop location with stunning views is it, no doubt, can get windy. If camping, use storm pegs. I didn't personally see Sid the owner this time, but he remains a character, I'm sure! His fish and chips are legend. But Sid. You have the whole place up for sale. Don't do it! St Keverne would never be the same again.
A short walk from the campsite is Roskilly's, which make ice cream and other foods and crafts. Its in a truly idyllic spot and we did a round walk to it. There is a walk close by which goes along a trail passing various ponds, which is tranquil. Visit the church in St Keverne, which is lovely inside. So peaceful.
Places to visit in Lizard are plentiful. I would recommend the stunning Kynance Cove, plus Church Cove. RNAS Culdrose has a viewing area with cafe. The BT Goonhilly Down site. Craft centres. A meadery. Plenty if you look, and some good beaches if that's what you want.
The Lizard does have a good range of 'hosteries' to visit. The Five Pilchards at Porthallow is also a gem. Both The Top House and The Witch Ball at Lizard are excellent, but absolute top marks go to The Mounts Bay Inn, in Mullion. We ate there. The place, the beer, the food, the atmosphere and the location are outstanding. Modernised, but done well. The outside veranda has sea views. Brilliant with a lovely sunset. One of the best places to eat out I have been to in a long time, and great VFM. Not cheap, but reasonable, and well worth it.
I would advise anyone to visit Sids campsite, and hope it stays as Sids campsite for a long time to come.

Just arrived back from this fantastic little site. We had a great time, even if the weather let us down a bit. The site is located just outside the village, but within walking distance of the shops and pubs. When we arrived we were shown to our pitch by Mike the site manager. The pitches are all grass & kept well mown & the site is clean & tidy. The only down side to its location is that its on top of a hill with a fantastic 360 degree view. But not very handy on a windy day while you are trying to pitch your tent.
The only problems we found with this site was the mens toilets only had 2 cubicals & 1 hand basin & is a little past its best, however it is kept clean 90% of the time. The shower block is unisex with 4 showers, again kept clean & tidy most of the time. Ladie loo's where clean says the wife.
There is 1 washing machine & 1 tumble dryer, also 2 big sinks for washing up your pots. And there is an ironing board & freezer.
There's plenty of hot water most of the time. Only on 1 occasion did we come unstuck when we went to wash up.
Sid the owner of the site also runs the fish & chip van that's in the village on Fridays 4 til 8.30 pm FANTASTIC food.
There are plenty of great walks to take from the village of St Keverne. Had a great time. Dogs loved it. Thanks to Sid for a great holiday.

This campsite sits on top of a hill about a mile to the East of St Keverne. There are two fields, one of which slopes down hill facing North. The views are terrific. The site is unprotected save a few low hedges and during my visit it was very windy.
There are two male toilets and one small sink, in a converted Porta Cabin. There are four showers in the next cabin shared with the ladies loos. There are no recycling facilities, but the site is kept very clean.
St Keverne provides all basic needs and the area is just made for walking, whether inland across fields or along coastal footpaths. I found plenty to explore in the week I spent there.
I am used to paying £5 to £8 per night for this type of site so I think this is a little over priced.

Great 7 night stay at this site. It is very basic which is just what we wanted as we had no children to keep entertained. The showers & toilets were kept tidy & clean with plenty of hot water if you avoided the more popular morning time.
A portable cabin housing 2 sinks for washing up, (such a treat after last year having to wash up outside in the rain on various other sites)2 fridge freezers, washing machine & tumble dryer.Could not fault the hook up supply,it never tripped or reduced power.
The site is situated on a hill giving spectacular views & can be a bit breezy.
Local shops & pubs in walking distance. We had a great meal in The White Hart.
The village baker is very friendly & makes the best cornish pasties, must visit in the morning if you want to buy.
We would highly recommend this site as long as you are not wanting any entertainment facilities, just very good quiet basics.

Stayed for one night. Little to add to comments already entered other than road in is a bit tight in places for a van.Ours is a modest 4 berth, although other bigger vans had managed to get on site with no evidence of scrapes so might have looked worse than it actually was.
Word of warning for those with kids to amuse, The Lizard doesn't have many beaches and is a bit lacking in things to do other than walk and ride bikes.

Excellent campsite we were the only ones there untill the Saturday of departure.
The site is very well maintained with clean ablution facilities. We camped in the sloping field not sure we were supposed to but the owner Sid was fine about that.
Within walking distance of St. Keverne village with a 2 shops for provisions and 2 pubs.
Excellent base for anyone wanting a quiet campsite to explore the Lizard which to be fair we already knew.
Would definitely recommend.
Sorry about late review Sid but you know how it is.
Don't work too hard on the fish and chips ( Sid also runs fish and chips on Friday night in St. Keverne)
Top site top owner.
The two Johns
PS Can't really comment on Child friendliness due to lack of kids however if I did have kids I would still choose this site as I don't believe in laid on entertainment but do believe in kids making their own fun in games and more imaginative leisure pursuits.

Lovely quiet site, The amenities were basic but clean, 50p for the shower but you got plenty of time for your money so if you have kids to shower you could do a few for this as there is plenty of room. Very good value for money. Only down side is that is it very open, this gives lovely views (when the mist and rain clear) but no shelter from the wind which there was in plentitful supply so take extra guy ropes. Sid the owner is very helpful and friendly, willing to help out if he can. It is a short walk to the village with two decent pubs and a shop for basics. Would definitely recommend this site. Only down side is that you had a 10 mile drive back to the main road for other attrations

The last review by 'hairywol' is quite comprehensive and there isn't much more to add other than just to corroborate their opinions of this site. Sid the owner was really friendly and helpful, and although the facilities were portakabins because the site is small and quiet there was no problem using them. Would definitely recommend this site, with only one caveat that due to hill top location views are beautiful but there is very little shelter so might suffer in windy weather.

What a great find! Site only a couple of years old I think and will be quite a hot spot as time goes on. Stayed for 4 nights.
St Keverne is a lovely little village with post office, small convenience store, fish and chips and church. Site is down some little lanes within walking distance of village, but set on a slope it has beautiful views of the coast and is very peaceful.
The site is well maintained, though as it is on a slope and ground was a bit wet some vehicles were getting stuck - but Sid was there with his tractor to rescue.
No play area, but kids were more than happy running around, playing with balls and riding their bikes.
Toilets / Showers very basic but fine and there were fridges for campers to keep beers etc in.
This part of the Cornish coastline is beautiful, and dramatic and although great for this area and down to Lizard being that everything down this part of the country is so close together the other side including Hayle and St Ives is no more than 30 mins away.
Great value for money - would definitely return.
