Fished this lake not too large but teaming with class rainbows and brownies. Heaven on earth for a location if you want to get away from it all, handy for coast to coast etc. Really friendly owners, off the beaten track camp site (what do you want) but clean toilet and showers very nice tent areas with stunning outlooks, food can be provided or B and B Group of campers there were really pleased with experience Give it a try whether camping or fishing (or both)
Cannot rate child facilities as it depends what you want. Great for back to nature people who love peace and quiet

A wild, isolated site at the end of a farm track. Choice of pitches is betweens a small level area, which has the drawback of being right by the yard - or a more sloping field between two drystone walls further away from the farm itself.
We chose the latter and found a flattish patch and were the only people there with lovely views down the valley.
The owner was incredibly friendly, there are showers and toilets and it was very good value for money. A really good place for getting away from it all, but avoid in extreme weather as it would be very exposed.

If you like your camping wild then you'll love it here. The working sheep farm is situated high up a beautiful valley in the heart of the Cleveland Hills. The site would be suited for backpackers hiking in the North York Moors, especially ideal for anyone walking the Cleveland Way or Coast to Coast walk, as the site is only half a mile from both routes.
The small fenced off grassy area used for pitching has a picnic table and small pond. The toilet is in a small outbuilding and is very basic but is all you really need. The owner will supply a packed lunch for a fee, but this would be best booked in advance, especially if there is a group. There is a pub in Chop Gate 2½ miles away, and a cafe at Carlton Bank 2 miles away.
I stayed here while walking the Cleveland Way and enjoyed a peaceful evening, sitting out watching the sun go down and darkness slowly fall while listening to the partridges, grouse, owls, frogs etc.
