This site was just perfect for us, beautifully scenic, well looked after, quiet and relaxing and plenty of room between pitches, lots of wildlife to watch (and listen to, ducks seemingly having an argument at 7 in the morning in the stream a few feet from our pitch was funny!), and plenty of small lakes to fish in, should that be your thing.
The toilets were clean and plentiful, showers were good, £1 a time. The lady running the site was friendly and happy to chat to us, we were allowed to arrive any time after 9am and on our departure we didn't have to leave until 5pm, which was great as on our pack up it was rather wet, so were able to wait a couple of hours to dry off.
Only downside was there was no hot water to wash up with, only cold, this wasn't a problem for us as we just boiled a kettle and did the washing up outside the folding camper (well my husband did anyway!).
The site is close to the lovely seaside towns of Southwold and Aldeburgh, both of which were fairly sedate, again, we enjoyed this.
We would use this site again for sure.

Wonderful setting with large pitches. All pitches overlook the lake which has really good walks. The fishing is interesting and there are some large fish to be caught. The facilities though are dismal. The toilets have only cold water with very small WCs in a portacabin. The showers 2x male and 2x female cost £1. They have the dressing room separate from the shower with a corridor between them with no door. We used our own facilities. All this for £19. 50 plus the £1 for each shower is poor value for money so though we like the setting and the fishing we find the cost unacceptable.

Oh dear what a disappointment, most of the reviews for this site were positive and spoke of an idyllic setting with good facilities, but then most were written several years ago!
The setting cannot be faulted especially if you are a fisherman, but I'm afraid the facilities fall well short of what is expected by modern day standards. The whole site is looking run down and neglected.
The toilet block has to be seen to be believed the smell was just awful, with two wash hand basins with cold water only, and two of the tiniest cubicles to serve not only the touring park, but the permanent caravans as well. One of the doors was broken and the floor awash with the residue of an attempt to empty the contents of a portaloo. Showers;coin operated, no doors, just a plastic sheet, no wash hand basins in which to wash or shave.
When I made the booking for Friday and Saturday I was told that the fee was £15 per night but they forgot to mention the extras! Awning £2 Electric hook up £2. 50 Showers £1 each, and if you want to fish that is another £5 per day! For £21. 50 a night I expected much more, the facilities remind me of camping in the Sixties. I wish that we had inspected before paying for two nights, we would not have stayed, needless to say we left the following morning.

We stayed here on our first visit to this area, when we visit the area again we will definitely return, the facilities were perfect, toilets immaculately clean, shop stocked the basics.
The site is set on very flat ground overlooking fishing lakes, the fishing was good as well.
Only campers were allowed to drive on the field, fishermen had to park in a car park near to the farm buildings.
There were plenty of walks around the farm and the local rea, very picturesque little settlements.
Would definitely stay again. Owners very friendly

We are seasoned campers and have stayed in many and varied sites. Each have their advantages according to the needs of each particular holiday. We fell for this one in a big way.
To have the advantage of a well kept and truly picturesque site along with a laid back tolerance from the owners about arrivals, departures, pitch preference etc is a rare and wonderful thing.
The loos were scrupulously clean. The shower looked great though I didn't use it. The shop catered for all those little essentials. The bin area was divided to enable proper recycling.
We had our car break down (flat battery) but Saxmundham was only 20 mins cycle away for Waitrose. With car fixed, Aldeburgh 20 mins drive. Leiston very close with 'The Crown' for fab food and drink.
Loads of space on site. Big, big sky made most of full moon for our stay. Would most definitely recommend and stay again.

Beautiful, quiet location with acres of space. Bonus if you're an angler. Shower/toilets couldn't have been cleaner and owner is very helpful. If you're looking for peace and quiet you couldn't do better, and in an ideal location to visit Snape / Aldeburgh / Walberswick and Southwold.
Good value for money - the only negative is lack of any hot water at the washing up point in the tent field. Recent addition of two portaloo type toilets with small sink is a real bonus.
The site is beautifully landscaped around many fishing lakes and herons are a welcome sight

We stayed at Marsh Farm for 3 nights trying out a new caravan - and we weren't disappointed. The site itself is quite large with beautiful fishing lakes. The pitches are well spaced and the site itself was very quiet.
The toilets are in a demountable portable cabin but were kept clean and tidy, the showers seemed to be spotless however there was a charge of £1 for the shower - we used the facilities in our caravan so can't comment on how good they were. There is a small shop selling some essentials but the real beauty of this site is it's peace and tranquillity.
I would absolutely recommend this site for some time spent away relaxing and taking in the beautiful surroundings. As the farm is quite isolated you will definitely need a car rather than relying on public transport.
We had an excellent meal in a pub called 'The Crown' in Snape - they rear their own pigs on site and we had a fabulous day at Aldeburgh, soaking up the sunshine on the beach whilst eating the best fish and chips we've ever had.
If we were ever back in this part of the country again we would have no hesitation in returning to Marsh Farm.

This site could be really lovely, the setting is very pretty, overlooking marshes with fishing lakes.
However, as a 'tenter' we hoped for better facilities. The tent field was the at the end of the site (which is lovely and peaceful) but the toilets consist of 2 port-a-loo style, with plumbed in toilets. They do not have a light, nor a plug or hot water to have a decent wash in.
The washing up facilities are in a shed (which is fine) but again no hot water so we resorted to boiling a kettle and washing up in our tent.
The facilities at the caravaners end is better (more toilets and lights!) but again no hot water, only time you get hot water is at the showers (£1 - not sure how long for).
Ideal for caravans with own facilities and people who enjoy fishing.

After reading previous reviews, I was rather sceptical when friends said they had booked this site for our weekend away.
However, my husband & I were bowled over by the site & will definitely, stay there again & recommend to friends.
We were met by a very friendly lady who advised us that there were new portaloo toilets available on the area for tents to save us too long a walk & when I asked if I needed to pay for an additional car, I was told that wasn't a problem.
The site itself was beautiful & peaceful with plenty of room, it felt that you had your own little part of Suffolk.
The toilets were kept immaculate throughout the weekend & the showers were clean & the water hot.
And although, the play area was just a swing, our 7 & 14 year old children were happy with the space & the freedom they had.
A great weekend was had by all.

First saw this site while out cycling during a stay at Carlton Park campsite in Saxmundham, couldn't believe what a find it is. The site can be reached from Saxmundham by taking the Sternfield turn and following the brown tourist signs to the site to which you need to follow a single track road downwards towards the farm.
Pull up in the car park and head to the shop to meet the owner. The site is open, beautiful set amongst a few trees and adjacent to a number of fishing lakes. You can buy your fishing ticket in the shop, £5 for one rod per day, £8 for two I think.
Anyway I tried it but didn't catch a thing, many others did, just wasn't my day. Try it for yourself but don't tell everyone, best kept a secret to avoid overbooking.
