This is one of the prettiest camp sites we've ever visited. The well kept fishing lakes made for a peaceful and relaxing environment during our stay. The location itself is just a short drive from the shops and services of Saxmundham and is within easy reach of Alderburgh and all the coastline hamlets to Southwold. My one and only criticism would be the overstretched single toilet block. This site would really benefit from an additional shower and toilet facility. That said we had a lovely time and will return.

Lovely spot, great fishing spot, but too much money @19.50 a night and still had to pay extra for shower and fishing. Felt a bit conned, had booked but not noted in diary, toilets were awful, 'new showers' were dirty but hot. However a fantastic location with beautiful lakes and certainly no overcrowding. OK shop stocked basics and sweets yum! No real play area just an old swing. However nice and close to Dunwich beach which has free parking and is dog friendly - brilliant!

Lets start with the bad points.
The toilets/showers are a 5 min walk from the tent field. There is no hot water in the toilet block, although the showers and toilets were clean.
The tent field washing up shed is basic.
It costs 50p to change freezer blocks.
Now for the good points.
The site is big, we had two other families camping with us for our first weekend, we had loads of room on our own little island, although there were plenty of folks on the site it never felt crowded and we never had to wait for toilets or showers.
It has a basic play area for children, however because there is so much space ours just ran about, played cricket. There are also fishing facilities.
We did not use the shop much but it did seem to have basic provisions.
Waitrose Saxmundham is only a 5 min drive away.
The location is great for access to loads of places like Aldeburgh, Orford, Southwold etc.
We had a wonderful week there with our two small children and would definitely go back (although might take a potty!).
We were also allowed to have a fire in our BBQ bucket.
It would be better if they had some toilet facilities in the tent field, even if these were just composting.

On arrival to this site we where advised that all tents were to be pitched in the far field and we could choose our pitch. The actual tent field was lovely with a great surroundings and views enabling us to sit amongst the lakes. Saying that this is the area were my delight finishes! If facilities are important to you beware!
The toilet blocks are awful and a good walk from the tent field. It is in a container like building, the lino floor is a health & safety issue as it is coming up & creased all through the area. They are also dirty, there is only hot water which is not great for brushing your teeth.
The two showers are not very clean on closer inspection (dirt & hair sitting in the drain area in the shower). The tiles still had the spacers between them!(which wouldn't have bothered me had they been clean). There is no sink in this area or hairdryers. The washing up area is in fact a old shed with an even older kitchen of sorts and a single cold water tap.

Stayed at Marsh Farm just before the school hols began so was very quiet and peaceful.
The surrounding man made fish lakes make for an unusual setting for a campsite, different from your usual forest/field situation but very nice.
When we arrived we chose a location for our tent that was not too close to any of the lakes so as to avoid the mozzies, recommend doing this as several spots we looked at first were swarming!
If you are a tent then the tent field is a 300yd walk to the shower/toilet facilities, we had bikes so it was ok but a bit of a trek if you need a wee in the night.
Having said that they have thought to install a convenient little shed with a sink for washing up/brushing teeth nearer the tent field.
As other reviewers have mentioned the shower is £1 a go which is a little unusual but as for out tent it was a reasonable £10 per night we didn't mind.
The showers are very clean and well presented.
Mine was hot and powerful although my girlfriend did mention hers was a little in and out heat wise.
There is a little shop which is usefull for milk/cheese and other everyday items and is reasonably priced.
When we stayed we mainly visited the lovely local town of Aldeburgh, beautiful buildings and long pebbly beach. And great fish and chips. The equally lovely but more Isolated beach of Dunwich is a 10 mile drive/ride.
All in all a near perfect campsite, very little to complain about definitely recommended.

We have been to Marsh Farm many, many times over the years and always enjoyed ourselves (even though we ALWAYS get rained on here - a lot!) and have left more relaxed than we came. The site is lovely - extremely well kept by the owners and this is respected by all who come here to enjoy it - with close cut grass, fields of sunflowers and lots of lakes to fish in. There are strict rules about lake usage and fishing but none of our party have ever had a problem abiding by them and none of us have drowned yet (6 adults, 8 children aged 8 to 14 and up to 3 dogs) so they obviously work. The site is really peaceful and quiet with lots of space between pitches so it never feels crowded, even when it is full. We have two caravans and a large tent between us and it is never a problem to pitch together at Marsh Farm which is a big plus. Plenty of lovely walks and cycle rides are around and it is only 10 drive minutes from Aldeburgh (fish and chips to die for!) and Snape Maltings. Showers (£1 for as long as you like) and toilet blocks are kept spotless and there is also a small shop for the basics and fishing bait. We will definitely go back (again and again!).

We visited this site on our first 2 trips with our newly acquired caravan. Very pretty with lovely walks. Only 10 mins from Aldeburgh and easy reach of other lovely places. We were able to pitch where we liked and the showers are nice and clean, costing 1 pound a time. We have booked to go back for the may bank holiday 09. We have two dogs and found it ideal. Owners nice and didn't bother us once. If you like fishing they have some superb lakes. We were able to arrive early in the morning and left mid afternoon with no problem. Definitely worth a visit.

We really liked this site. The camping area is based around some man made lakes that are full of fish and you can kind of have your own little island to camp on. You can pay a charge and fish for trout and other fish. It's quiet and beautiful and you could walk around the farm if you want. £15 a night for a family tent. We stayed there as it's close to Orford and Orford Ness, both of which are great to visit. Interesting castle in Orford and the Ness is interesting for birds and military history. Free parking with a little looking in Orford and all the basics are available.
Camp shop has most things but no gas. Toilet and showers are nice. Showers are £1 for 8 mins. Only neg. Point is that the toilet and shower block are quite far from the camping. People use their cars a bit for this. There's also a hut with washing facilities which is in the camping field.
We'll be going back. This is a nice relaxing place. We went midweek in great weather in July and there were only about half a dozen tents. They only take 25 in total. This is a nice place for any kind of camper. You can have a nice relaxing time without leaving the site.

We have been here many times, its an excellent site with plenty of room and I mean plenty and friendly owners. There are two main fields, a top field which looks over the open countryside and a bottom field which is closer to the toilets etc, both have ample hook ups and water points. The site is extremely well kept with the grass cut short and an abundance of trees and fishing lakes. The toilets are very clean and tidy, there is a small charge for the use of showers. The site has a small shop where you can purchase bread, milk, cans of food and sweets etc. The Suffolk coast is only a short distance away plus there are numerous small villages and towns to visit. This site is ideal for getting away and forgetting your troubles. Points out of 10; 9

This is an absolutely beautiful site, it is surrounded by sunflower fields, it is so pretty. It has fantastic fishing lakes. We pitched right on the edge of a stream with ducks swimming up and down. The kids (boys aged 10, 8 and 8) loved it. There was so much space the other side of our caravan they could play football, cricket, you name it they could play it. The boys had some little fishing rods, that kept them entertained for hours, they were catching 8 - 10 fish each per day. There is a small play park, but to be honest the kids did not bother with it. There is a little shop on site that sold fishing bits and pieces as well as fresh bread, milk and a variety of other food stuff. The showers and toilets are adequate but everything else makes up for that. A site that is worth a visit.
