Stayed 4 nights here and we were really impressed. Having read some previous reviews which say its good but. (kids don't get on with others, washing hanging on trees???) All I can say is the facilities are kept in good order, plenty of hot water, pool excellent, setting superb, all sports free. The bar is in a beautiful octagonal folly with a library inside and the kids rooms were great with setees and tvs etc. The town of Moyeaux is acouple of miles up the road(very nice) and the nearest supermarket is in Columbiere. A gem of a site. Better than the castel site up the road!

Have just returned from a 2 week holiday with our 2 small dogs. Without a doubt this is one of the best sites we have visited and can't praise the site highly enough. It is set in an orchard and the pitches are amongst the apple trees and the setting is delightful. The toilet facilities are equal to some other 5 star sites we have visited in the past.
On a personal note, despite the facility of drying lines being available near the laundry, some people were hanging washing lines between trees heavily festooned with clothing, towels etc. This was the only complaint, if you want a peaceful site in a beautiful area and yet with all attractions of the area within easy reach this is without doubt a site to be visited and enjoyed.

We used this site as a one night stop over on our way to Brittany. We were allocated a pitch between 2 apples trees which was plenty big enough for our small van.
Toilets had a French rustic charm but were clean and segregated by gender.
The surroundings are stunning with everything housed in original buildings keeping the old charm of the place intact. The swimming pool is set in a formal garden in front of the beautiful chateau.
A regular pool without slides and no real shallow end for toddlers but they seemed to manage.
There seemed plenty of play equipment spread around the site and a very comfortable TV lounge which we used to watch the Olympics with other campers from other European countries.
There is a formal restaurant in the chateau or as we used, the creperie which is in a summer house next to the pool. The food was good but the 2 young ladies, one cooking and one serving, had their work cut out and meant that service was slow but hey we were on holiday!
This site is on my list to use again and I would definitely recommend it.

We have just returned from two weeks at Le Colombier. We are a family of 4, who camped in a tent, plus one small dog. We had very mixed weather: everything from jumpers in bed at night and sheeting rain to extremely hot!
Overall we loved this campsite. Pitches were of a good size and clearly marked out by four trees (it is/was an orchard).
Facilities were good: plenty of washing booths, showers, toilets, washing up sinks and laundry. Hot water was a bit of a lottery, depending on timing, ie: if you want a HOT shower have it when it's not busy.
It was nice that that all of the activities on site (swimming, table tennis, bouncy castle, boule, crazy golf etc were FREE). Unfortunately the concert planned when we were there was rained off.
We found the Crepe restaurant very expensive for what you got (better to eat out really), staff were friendly but service was slow. We paid E39 for a meal there and two nights later a meal in Honfleur with a larger volume of food cost us E29!
The shop (Epicerie) had a good stock of basic food and newspapers. Although most of the stock came from Carrefour, prices were not marked up much. Bread and croissants arrived at about 7. 45 / 8 in the morning, but we fund that you needed to be quite quick off the mark as SOME other campers seemed to be 'buying in bulk' (!)
The only bad points/issues we had were:
1)Toilets & showers were cleaned far too late in the morning, ie: on several occasions shut between 7. 30 and 8. 15 am. Very frustrating!
2)Toilet paper was mean: one domestic sized roll left after cleaning twice a day. I had to take my own paper in almost every time.
3)Creperie (see above)
4)On arrival our booked pitch had been nabbed by another family, which was annoying as I'd specified it's location (so we could see the kids play area). We decided not to make an issue of this, since there were other spaces available.
5)When we chose another pitch, we found that the family adjacent kept on encroaching by 4/5 feet, putting up another small tent where we wanted to park our car. It's really obvious from the four trees where the pitches begin and end, so we felt this was really cheeky.
6)Not all of the children on the campsite played nicely and/or were properly supervised by their parents. A few days into our stay a 'gang' (about 8 of various ages) of non-English kids started yelling 'You are not welcome' at my children. There was a copse next to the play area which was good for investigating, but unfortunately this 'gang' had taken up residence. One boy had a very sharp folding knife and was using it to make bows and arrows and to sharpen sticks (which were used to poke my children when they entered the copse). We were (understandably) very upset about this. Parents were nowhere to be seen. So my husband confiscated the knife and took it to Reception. The campsite manager was fairly firm with the parent (who did not understand what the problem was! :-O ). It's a shame it happened, as we didn't relax/stop worrying until the families involved had left.
All in all, yes we would stay at this campsite again. Our major issues were with other campers, not the site itself.

Had one overnight stay.
Good large pitch, helpful and friendly staff. Chateau, grounds and pool are delightful and the free classical music concert in the garden was beautiful.
Facilities block is dated and, for us, the site has to have a huge black mark for siting the open plan chemical toilet emptying point absolutely adjacent, as in 2 to 3 metres, to the open plan dishwashing sinks. Can't believe the local Health authority had approved this.
Location is pleasantly rural, the on-site catering limited and very over-stretched and slow.
The restaurant in the chateau looked wonderful but was closed.
The children's playground facility looked good.
At 36 euros for a one night stay in a motorhome containing 2 adults, it seemed extremely expensive.

Spent a week here in July 2010 and a night in Aug on our return journey. The site staff are very pleasant. The site has the facilities of a 4* but could do with a little tarting up to justify the rating.
The location is a little isolated but this suited us. Local walks are good and we spotted four deer on our walks in the woods.
We enjoyed a very pleasant week but one drawback is the toilet emptying point beyond the main gate. Access to the drain is difficult and many people were using the easier option of the drain attached to the water fountain. The smell of raw sewage was terrible.
The house within the grounds is stunning and the pool area and bar great.
The other posts on this site accurately reflect. Overall would recommend.

Our 3rd visit. This time it seemed very expensive at 34 euros per night with electrics! Don't remember it being that expensive before?
The ambience was lovely with the swimming pool in the sunken garden etc etc but I wonder if I'd have felt the same if it had been bad weather?
Very nice site for last night in France and handy for Honfleur market on Saturday en route to le Havre for ferry. Not sure I'd pay this again though.

This was our first experience of a foreign campsite - having recently bought a caravan we rather rashly decided to have a senior gap year touring Europe, starting with France! We were told to choose our pitch and here our inexperience got us into trouble. The pitches are in what was once an orchard so there are numerous apple trees. We managed to have a slight argument with one of them and scratched our lovely new 'van, then, having set up, discovered there wasn't enough room to put up our awning because of the trees. However, this was down to our inexperience and not the fault of the site! We found the facilities excellent - a well-stocked shop that even sold English papers, delicious home-cooked takeaway food, a cosy bar / library and pleasant, fully-segregated toilet facilities. The swimming pool looked lovely but the weather was wet, unfortunately. The staff were friendly and there was free internet use in reception, though we struggled a bit with the French keyboard! We made trips to Caen and to Honfleur before moving on to Brittany. All in all we would certainly stay here again - a very picturesque, quiet site.

Just got back from this site and have to say we were very impressed. Pitch sizes were huge and mostly shaded however EHU points were a little scarce with a mixture of old French style and the new modern blue types. We had booked EHU however all slots were occupied and we did not have an 50 metre extension lead to reach the next closet one. However this was not really a problem and we could have moved pitch and a hook up point came available after 3 days.
The swimming pool is excellent and the toilet blocks were very clean and modern and cleaned twice a day.
On site there is a takeaway , a creperie, shop, a bar (for over 18's only), games room, table tennis tables, volleyball pitch, children's play area and for 2009 a bouncy castle.
Liseaux has an excellent market on Saturday's and parking was easy enough to find.
We found that wasps were a bit of an issue in August however this would not stop us from visiting this wonderful site again.

Lovely site, though we didn't find it easily.Welcoming ctaff, invited to choose our pitch. Wash blocks fine if a little old. Swimming pool in sunken garden of chateau with dove coote(the colombier) overlooking. In the colombier is a small bar and upstairs a multi lingual library. No loungers by pool but grassy area for sun bathing.Rope strung across pool to show where deeper part is meant you couldn't easily swim lengths of pool so a bit off putting if you didn't want to go under the water! Staff extremely helpful posting my camera to me which I'd mislaid at the site. Lovely reading/TV room in old barn.Would return.
