This is the second year we have stayed on the touring site. 2 adults and two children (7 and 5). As others have said it is a long way from the main complex, but no further than the statics, which have stayed in once.
Th site itself is okay. The pitches are quite large, but not too deep. If you have a van over 20 feet the towbar may go over onto the road. They give enough space however for a large awning and your car next to that. The facilities are basic, but that's what you would expect from a basic site. I have been on a lot worse. I don't have any complaints about the site except there is no play area for children. Our kids, and others, just played around the vans and site. One tip for the touring site, when you visit the main complex, we drove and parked in the main car parking spaces near the swimming pool. You will drive past them on the way to the touring site. It will save you a 15 minutes walk. I would recommend the site, even though it isn't the cheapest, but all the facilities of Butlins are at your disposal.

Stopped here for 4 nights the site is in overall good condition. The toilet and shower blocks are clean and well maintained and water was hot no matter what time you used the showers. Did get a bit too much noise at night but it all settled down buy 12ish.
Butlins itself was great fun for the kids young and old! the buildings where a bit tatty on the outside but nice and clean inside. Prices for food and drinks were not too much over the top compared to other resorts belonging to the same group. Security for entrance and leaving was a bit strict but this just helped settle any worries about kids getting out of the site. All staff were helpful and tried all the time to sort any queries.
On the down side the touring site is a little too far away from the main units and there is a steam railway that runs behind the site which runs about every 20mins although this stops about 5.30ish but that's about it.

Butlins is great the kids and adults love the camp facilities days time and evening entertainment is fantastic, the fun fair is ok but two rides were not working out of service due to service could be done when the site was closed.
The swimming pool is great fun.
The tour park is about a 10 min walk but plenty of parking to use car. The tour park is ok. Good free toilet/ shower rooms and disable friendly, has two washing machines and dryers. It had washing up area, water taps to fill water butts and C D P. You will get a wake up call by the seagulls with steel toe cap boots walking up and down your van.
Sitting out side and watch the steam train run past and the rolling hills behind. My wife and I love that and the kids love the rest of it and I know that as I never see them all day so what more can I say.
Bob the site warden is a very helpful guy and keeps the site clean as many campers do not use bins and the birds pull the bags apart.
One thing you do need is rock pegs as the ground is very hard. Well we are all ready booked for two weeks in the school summer holidays.

The site itself is located at the far end of the overall site, not the most picturesque location (near to the older chalets that the staff use) but ok. The staff were great, really helpful and they kept the facilities really clean.
Not particularly well draining, terrible storms didn't help, but we were better off than some areas of the overall site. Noticed a number of the chalets ended up with sand bags at their doors due to the constant downpours. The campsite was extremely wet underfoot but that is not the fault of the site.
You have free entrance to all of the usual facilities, sports, swimming, shows etc etc - all great and kept the children occupied and dry!
The area itself is really nice there is a good selection of shops, restaurants, pubs etc etc and a fantastic steam railway. The beach is also exceptional - but the weather is really needed to use this!
Going back again at new year but not in our tourer - probably a little too cold for that!

Just come back from here after spending 10 days on the touring park the pitch was not very big just about got the caravan on the awning was right on the edge of the road. Neighbouring campers were partying till about 2.30am other neighbours were up at 6am shouting to their friends to bring bacon and sausage for the BBQ. I went to the laundrette to find 1 washer and 1 dryer working I loaded washer and returned after 30mins to collect it, the washing was covered in bits, site warden said it was probably off the mop heads he had just washed UGH!I took the washing straight to the staff laundrette about 50 yds away. Site warden was cleaning ladies toilets one morning I was advised to use disabled toilet, I did so and thought I was locked in I had to push the door open with my shoulder, how would a disabled person get out? Gents showers or I should say shower! one of the doors had been ripped off by kids and the lock on another had broken. There were no plugs in any of the sinks even the pot washing and hand clothes washing sinks. Personaly I think the touring pitches were an after thought, not much effort to make our stay comfortable, no play area, no ball games. We had a 10min walk to the complex while in there the entertainment was good. Town was another 10min walk away. We had a lovely Sunday carvery at the Queens Hall, and a meal at the Hairy Dog which was also very nice, we didn't eat on the camp no where looked clean enough. The whole camp needs a re-ferb, the amount they charge to stay there and the extra costs, go-karts, bungee jumps, wall climbing, bike hire, arcades. Will we visit Butlins Minehead again? Not on your life!

Myself and my partner ran a motorhome rally here. This was the 2nd rally we have organised at this site.
Access to the site has improved since last year.
Again, the toilets and shower were clean.
The onsite warden was very friendly and helpful.
They cater for all units from tents to small RV`s.
It is a very quiet area, as well away from the Butlins complex.
The railway line runs alongside the field, but is a lovely site to see the steam train running past, from standing up on the bank.
Comment from one young lad in our party.
`This is the best holiday I have ever had`
There is a good place along the seafront that does a really good value all day breakfast!
I have stayed on this campsite about 4 or 5 times now and will be continuing to do so for as long as possible.
I will also be running another rally at least once next year.

Hi it states that tents are not allowed on here but after working here recently I can inform you you can have tents.
Butlins is very big and there is loads to do, the camping and touring area is spread over two fields. I used the facilities quite often as they were better than the staff accommodation. The showers are warm, clean and free. There are shaving pints also, with plenty of sinks. The toilets are not to bad either.
If I had a chance I would have preferred to use a tent to where I was living. The main area was mowed but the other fields grass was longer. The site is a long 1m walk away from the main skyline. Butlins does offer excellent entertainment and most staff work very hard. The splash zone is meant to be top notch too. For a nice walk on site, walk around the lake near by it is flooded with wild life. I would love this place as a holiday.

We stayed at this site for a week in the summer holidays, the touring area isn't huge and is quite a long trek to the main complex. Showers and toilets were very clean though.
The kids loved all the rides but take lots of change because there are loads of amusements.
The outdoor pool was open but empty, it was freezing! The indoor pool was fantastic, there are slides, flumes and wave machines. There is also a shallow play area for the younger kids.
There is a pub on site but unfortunately they didn't do food but it's worth visiting just for the view of the lake. Don't forget to take some bread to feed the swans and ducks!
Beach is sandy and situated just over the main road from the Butlins complex.
A trip to Lynton and Lynmouth is well worth it, Lynton is linked to Lynmouth harbor by the famous cliff railway.
