Great no frills camp site with friendly staff.
Perfect for a short stay with plenty of open space for the kids.
Would definitely use again and recommend to friends.

We only managed 1 of the 4 nights we were supposed to stay because storm francis struck. This of course wasn't the fault of the campsite owners, however, we were right next to the river which looked like it was about to burst its banks. We asked the campsite owner whether it was a risk and he said it 'doesn't usually' (burst), however this wasn't really reassuring enough to make us want to stay!
Theres only one entrance to the field and at this point it was VERY muddy and unless driven very carefully or with a 4x4 there was a chance of getting stuck. The field was already completely waterlogged with large puddles in a lot of places and getting worse, and so with more heavy rain due for the rest of the day we decided to leave before we either were flooded out or would need a tractor to get us off the field. All added to the adrenaline!
A shame because we really enjoyed having a fire with marshmallows the evening before.
A lovely place for nice weather but a nightmare if it's bad weather!

The site is in a beautiful location. The camping field is flat and very spacious, so great for pitching. Lots of EHU pitches. There is a stream where our older kids enjoyed playing. The owners were friendly and helpful and always about.
The loos & showers were not the best as they were porta loos, but did the job.
Would recommend and would definitely return. Hoping they build a toilet and shower block.
We had a fab b/hol wkend - loved it!

I love the rural location on a working farm with a helpful and friendly family. I love the no frills, clean toilet block, sink for washing up and large shower room.
There is no playground, but the kids I take love playing on the field in the fresh air, making up their own games enjoying the lambs and nature.
The river runs along the edge of the site is great for paddling and exploring. Dogs go free, and you are allowed fires by the river. The electric is fine if you want to boil a kettle or have heating on, but not at the same time!
It is a single track lane to get there. If you are at all worried they are happy to meet you and tow for you.
I like it so much I'm on my second seasonal pitch.
Phone signal best on O2 /giff Gaff. Intermittent on EE but I go there for the peacefulness so not a problem.
Thank you Aled Nia Rhodri and Gerwyn for making us so welcome. Oh and the stunning Torrent Walk is across the road!

This is very much a basic site with photos that are not really a true representation of the touring site. The site is fine providing you know what you are getting rather than what is in the photos
1. Approach is via a single track road with passing places, the road condition is good but narrow about 1 mile in length
2. The immediate entrance to the site is less than ideal via a very steep hill with a cattle grid at the top - not impossible but you wouldn't want to stop coming up it
3. The photos are actually of the area where the statics and sited tourers are, you are sited in the next field with very long grass
4. Toilets are very basic but clean but are about a 3 - 5 minute walk from the touring/tent area
5. Waste water emptying was never found I'm guessing it was the drainpipe at the rear of the toilets
6, chemical waste was an old toilet in the middle of a mass of brambles at the back of the loos - basic but functional and most certainly unique! Farmer did say he need to cut the brambles back - you didn't need to get through them at the minute
7. Electric hook up very poor, 6 -amp, it couldn't boil the kettle!
At £18. 00 a night not sure it's really good value when you compare a site such as Glen Nevis in Fort WilliIam that has superb access and facilities for another £49 for seven nights
In summary this site has excellent views, friendly farmer although he's not forthcoming with information regarding water point, waste emptying etc - found these out by chance. Electric hook up is appalling at £3. 00 per night. If you are happy with difficult access and raw peace and quiet this is the site for you. If you expect a bit more for your money in terms of access, and facilities this isn't the site for you

We stumbled across this campsite whilst looking for another close by. What a find!. Very cheap at £5 each per night and you can have a campfire by the river. The facilities are basic but clean and are not used by many people. We were the only campers there for the weekend with a huge field all to ourselves with just the sheep in the adjoining field for company. Owner was friendly and no charge for the dog. River was fenced off for safety but with a gate and a stile for access. Close to a garage and a little chef but would recommend the Eurospar at Dollgelleau for great prices and selection. Super views and camping how it should be. Easy access to a number of lovely walks and forest trails. We travelled without children and there were no real facilities for them at this site, just a big field to play in. Ideal for couples and lovers of a real natural camping experience. Can't wait to go back next weekend.

This is a laid back, quiet site in a good location, with fantastic views of hills and the forest. The facilities are basic (but very few campers to share them, so no queues)- but there's hot showers and a clean toilet block. Could have done with separate washing up facilities, and a bit of night lighting, but that's a minor quibble given the low pitch cost, and the location. The Farmer and his wife are very friendly. Theres a garage and a little chef nearby on the A470. Make sure you check out the huge beach stretching from barmouth up for 10 miles up the coast! Would definitely come back to this site

Just back from weekend away with children aged 7 + 3. Big site lots of room to choose where to pitch, surroundings are amazing with fantastic views. Nice and quiet. Lovely stream running through site. Toilet block basic but hey it has a shower and hot water what more do you need.
Great little town not 5 mins down the road and beach is about 9 miles away. Great value for money, owner really nice. Go visit.
Oh would have loved a playground for the children but the walks and animals kept the entertained.

Spent three nights here, and unfortunately the weather was not brilliant. The site is a 9 acre field set in a working farm, so weather permitting plenty of space for games etc. Aled the owner had hired a portaloo situated at entrance to tent field for the bank holiday weekend as the shower block and toilet is situated quite a walk from the tents and is very old and run down. However the shower is hot and free and Aled and his wife cleaned them on a regular basis. There is very little to do in the area, so this is very much a base for a walking or biking holiday.
The campsite does require washing up facilities and maybe a toilet/ shower block situated closer to the tent pitches. However the site is on National Trust!.
Aled and his family are very welcoming and nothing is too much trouble for them.
It is a very basic site with no frills, and if you do not want luxury then you should consider this site.
