We were very impressed how organised the campsite was to prevent cross infection.
The toilet and washing facilities were very clean and cleaning materials were available for Campers to clean after using the facilities.
The pitches were well spaced out and we felt very safe in these covid times. The farmers did everything to make us welcome and safe.

From the moment we arrived, in drizzly wet weather, we were greeted with a smile by Vicki the owner.
The toilet and Shower facilities were immaculate. There was a constant supply of cleaning materials for people to use.
The site has wonderful views and is peacefully quiet, with lovely tree lined roads for a run or walk. The attractions of Clovelly, Bude and Appledore are all within easy reach. This site is perfect for a quiet peaceful break with very helpful owners.
We had a couple of days of very heavy rainfall and some vehicles were getting stuck in the mud. They were towed out by a willing tractor driver. Then, as soon as they were able, the area was flattened out with a heavy roller.
All the units are around the outside of the field, leaving a large expanse in the middle, ideal for playing games etc.
Highly recommended site.

This is a lovely, quiet site. Communication when booking was excellent which was reassuring in these times of COVID 19. We received a warm welcome from Vicki on arrival. Booking in and payment were done through a QR code and PayPal - very efficient.
Owners were unobtrusive, but quickly available when phoned. This proved especially useful when people needed help to get on/off the field after a spell of very heavy rain. (If you need a tow, don't be embarrassed - you aren't the first and you won't be the last!)
Pitches are huge. Facilities are 'no frills' but very clean and well thought out. Extra cleaning materials were provided so taps/handles etc could be wiped between use. Flip flops for the showers are recommended which is sound advice - this is a farm and it is impossible to keep mud from the floors.
The site welcomes dog lovers and a couple of pitches had several dogs there but these did not disturb those of us who didn't have dogs. There is a lovely field next to the site where dogs can be exercised.
There is lots to see and do in the area - the Tarka Trail, the spectacular Coast Path and Clovelly are all close by and these were our choices during our short stay. We didn't visit the pub in the village but it was recommended to us by other campers.
We had a super stay and plan to return.

Visited this site for the first time in July 2020, our first trip out since lockdown so somewhat nervous about facilities etc.
We needed have worried, large pitches meant that there was no problem with social distancing and the owners had clearly given a lot of thought to their safety measures.
Would thoroughly recommend this site and we will certainly be going back. To top it all, all the campers were offered a free evening farm tour of this working farm which we found to be informative and interesting.

We are reluctant to provide a review for nice quiet sites, lest they soon become overrun but in this case, we feel obliged to make an exception!
We have just returned from a 9 day stay.
Vicki has worked hard to create the best truly dog friendly campsite we have ever visited.
The toilets, showers and washing up area are brand new and better than several 5* campsites we have visited.
Be sure to follow the directions to the campsite carefully. We were a little concerned whether we had them right but they ensure you enter the campsite from the best direction to negotiate the entrance. Although the road is narrow, the locals seem both patient and practised at reversing into passing spaces to let tourers through.
The best thing about this campsite is the space and tranquility each pitch offers, even in the peak month of August. Although dogs must be on leads within the campsite, there is plenty of space on each pitch to ensure they can have a nice long tie out rope or can be fenced in via windbreaks etc.
The dog walk is huge and our German Shepherd enjoyed several off lead sessions every day.
The day kennels are fabulous, it's obvious that Vicki really loves dogs and we felt really happy to have a few dog free days out, confident our dog was being well cared for. The price was incredibly reasonable too.
Thanks very much for a lovely holiday Vicki.

Lovely site. Very friendly site owner Vicky. Great views.
Really great for dogs, as field to run in next door to the site.
Easy access to Westward Ho! beach and all shops in Bideford. Would recommend to any body. Great stay. Will be coming back this year too.

The Farm
We booked this at the last minute for a nine day break (two adults, one child and two dogs). What a discovery. A beautiful, small, dog friendly site, smack bang in the middle of a working farm. The landscape on the site is really varied and the farm walk (which I would recommend) is really informative, it is run weekly and lasts over 2 hours. It provides real insight to the conservation work that these guys are undertaking and the history of the farm. You will gather from other reviews that the toilet and shower block are a little basic but I never had to queue, and always had hot water so no real complaints from me. Dogs are allowed run free in the surrounding fields, but on the campsite they must be on the lead.
The surrounding area
We found no shortage of dog friendly beaches in the area. Northam Burrows Country Park was great - it is at the estuary of the River Taw/Torridge with long expanses of sand. , When the tide is out Instow is great, its on the opposite side of the river to Appledore. Bucks Mills is a great dog walk. Clovelly is a must see (but dogs need to be on the lead), and my favourite area was the National Trust beach of SandyMouth with great cliff walks either side (on the SW coastal path) and a great dog friendly beach (which is only sandy when the tide is out).
