The site is very basic, you must have your own loos and showers. Nothing to do, totally quiet, utter bliss!
Took my grandson he's 8 and he had a wonderful time, playing in the forest with new pals, building dens and playing Robin Hood. We took the dog for long lazy walks, he lost at least a stone in weight. We were all in bed by 9.00pm it was so dark and quiet. We are taking the fishing rods next time.
I think that £10 a night is a bit expensive especially as they do not give a discount for staying a week. But Hey Ho relax and go with the flow!

Recently returned from Tackeroo, Very basic, only waste disposal and tap, but fantastic place. You are in the middle of Cannock Chase, Its ten pounds a night (the ranger collects the money daily) No booking system just turn up, If you want to get away from it all I cant think of anywhere better. The nearest shops are a couple of miles away, excellent tracks for bike riding, and you might even see some deer! Well worth a visit.

Just noticed this is on here so thought would add review. We've been here a couple of times, I think the latest was 2007 but it may have been before. Anyway there's nothing here except the pitches and possibly water points. No toilets - you really are in the forest. The forest ranger comes round once in a day in a van and collects your money I think it was £6 last time for a family of four. There are cycle paths off the site, there's no wardens but I think they close the barriers at night (but I could be wrong). There were plenty of people there when we were there including tents - it seemed quite dark because of the trees, maybe some more people will put more recent reviews on as there may be changes since I was there.
