Booked last minute for the August Bank Holiday - shocked by the price £5.00 per person / child plus £2.00 per car. It cost us £74.00 for 2 nights!. We knew from previous reviews that the facilities were basic - the site was busy - at 10.30 pm the queue for the toilets was similar to a pub queue - not nice for the kids. The shower was piping hot though - but not so clean after it had been used so much.
All this would have been OK though - had it not been for the state of the field. It would appear that the grass had not been cut all summer (better for drainage according to the owner), but after days of rain was just a mucky mess! Also it was full of nettles and thistles - we had to stamp round our tent just to stop the kids getting stung - result more muddy mess.
Wouldn't return - poor value for money if you have a family. Best suited for walkers stopping over for 1 night.
Ingleton is lovely though - and the outdoor swimming pool is fab

When we arrived in the afternoon after not booking there was one to ask if it was ok to pitch, however there was a sign on the door to say 'campers please pitch your tent, you will be attended to later' we did this and my husband paid later in the day which cost us £5 per person and £5 for my 4 year old and £2 per car, I just thought £5 for the child and £2 per car was a bit much!
All in all we really liked this site and will go back soon, the site wasn't too busy but I don't think it ever would be as the facilities are very basic and its only a small site.
The toilets and showers are spotless and the shower was very spacious and warm. We were right next to the road but it never bothered us the only noise was coming from the neighbouring holiday park which very loud other wise it would of been very peaceful,
We did have to retreat to our tent later on as the midges got very annoying!

We turned up quite late on a spur of the moment Dales weekend and the owner was very nice and helpful, despite having got him out of the bath!
We pitched for the night and ended up staying for 4 days, Despite some noise from the road ( and the obligatory sheep) the site is peaceful and restful. There is a no dog rule, but they are flexible about this - shame the people on the first night didn't have the manners to keep theirs under control. This site is very basic, but there are shops about a mile away. The ground was very wet, but the field drains off well and it was not an issue. The facilities are free and very clean. The shower is great! We would certainly stay there again. Good place for exploring the delights of Ribblesdale and beyond.

Spent one night here during our DofE Gold expedition in the first week of the summer holidays. Only a few other people on the site
No problems with facilities, though they were slightly basic. Only one shower could have proved a problem if the site had been busier. Reasonable considering the price, which seems cheap enough.
Staff were helpful, but not overly so when it appeared our group were arriving in two parts due to illness and so we wouldn't be paying as one. Though as we were paying cash we couldn't see a problem.
Location was fine for walking, though could have been slightly remote for anything else. Lovely location for climbing Ingleborough.

Good location within easy reach of the village centre and Ingleton falls.
Facilities are basic, 1 shower for the campsite, however they are clean.
The welcome was not exactly warm and they seem to have a problem with dogs even though they accept them. My friends and I all experienced problems with the lady that works there and I know that other campers had the same problem. The main problem being the lack of or no respect when being spoken to. We found her very rude however we did not let this hinder our camping experience.
I agree with previous reviews about the problem with midges. Nevertheless we gave it the benefit of the doubt but we did have to sit inside the tent on the second night because the midges were unbearable resulting in my legs being covered in bites.
Overall I do not think it value for money to stay at this campsite but Ingleton itself is a very nice and interesting place.

As others have said about the site the facilities are very basic but are just about enough, wouldn't like to have stopped much more than the 2 nights which we did. If the site gets busy as it did on our second night there wont even be much room for children to play, but there is a field right next too which is fairly flat.
The site is about a mile outside Ingleton or about 20 mins gentle walking cafe was open at half past eight in the town were we got some breakfast, we did the waterfall walk which could be hard going for people not of reasonable fitness and the ground is very uneven in places, stopped at a pub after this for a swift pint, beer not too badly priced but food over priced for what was on offer (we did not buy any)
There are a couple of shops in town including a Coop I think it was as well as the newsagents.
As mentioned before the road is noisy and noise is not screened out at all, if you are a light sleeper you will be woken up several times, I am not a light sleeper and even I was woken once or twice thinking my tent was going to be mowed down by what sounded like a airliner,
All in all we enjoyed our stayed and although a basic site this was our first camping trip and hasn't put us off so not at all bad

We stayed here for 8 nights and found it to be a quiet site (we were the only tent in our field for 4 nights) I agree with the other reviews that the road noise wasn't screened out by the trees, motorbikes and lorries mostly (light sleepers be aware!) The facilities were basic which isn't a problem but for the price would have expected better, we paid £30 a night for 2 adults 5 children 1 car (adults and children charged the same rate of £4 per night) also if the site was full it would be mayhem (1 unisex shower for the whole site) Great area to stay in though, good for walking small village with fish and chip shop,co-op,outdoor pool and a launderette (bonus as we were there on a very wet and muddy week so towels didn't get dry)short drive to Morecambe for a day trip also Windermere. Next town about 6 miles had more shops but nothing to do there with children though we did try the Chinese Takeaway!

The facilities at this campsite are definitely basic, but they were clean! Campsite was relatively empty when I stayed so easy to get a flat pitch.
The website states that the nearby road noise has shielding but have to agree with the previous review added it can still be heard. The sound of lorries thundering down the road all night could not even be blocked out with ear plugs!
Additionally the holiday park next door, has some very loud inhabitants! When I stayed there I was keep awake till 4am with the noise of music, singing and some very loud chatter all night. Just be aware if you are staying here that the noise of the road and the holiday park is enough to drive you mad from lack of sleep!

As the other reviews have said, the facilities were basic but clean. The views of Ingleborough were great and there was plenty of room for the kids to play. However, I felt that £4 per person was a bit pricey, as we have 3 children meaning that it cost us £22 a night (we have stayed at much better equipped sites for less). Also we were a bit disappointed by the noise from the main road, although it is well screened and not visible, it can still be heard, especially at 5am in the morning when huge lorries are rumbling past.

Basic campsite, 2 fields, 3 washing up sinks with hot & cold running water, shower, 'Gents' faciities comprised 1 cubicle and an open air urinal wall;- can't speak for the ladies! All facilities very clean. Sadly very wet underfoot when we were there but it had been raining for the preceding weeks. Cost £4/person and £2/Car which I found reasonable for 2 of us (£10), Had I taken the whole family I think I might have found £18 a bit steep. All other campers we met very sociable and happy to chat
10 minute (brisk) walk to the Villlage past the CO-OP Shop, variety of pubs to choose from.
We thoroughly enjoyed our 1 night here despite the heavy showers:- it gave us exactly what we wanted and if visiting Ingleton again would happily stay here.
