Went for 5 nights over Easter the weather wasn't great!
Pitch was ok but a bit squashed in. We were near the noisy monkeys which would make the loudest screaming noise all hours but we got used to it.
The tents were mixed in with the caravans which could be quite noisy. The 1st 2 days was ok but when the pitches were full there was problems with the electric tripping off all the time which was a pain some nights it was off for hours.
The site manager who did everything from cut grass to dj in the bar was helpful. The bar/cafe wasn't up to much only went once due to the smell of dirty chip fat, even at 11 at night. Found a nice pub round the corner 5 mins walk called the white bear food was great. Asda and takeaways are 5 mins drive away.
The toilets/showers were the worst I have ever been to in 4 years caravanning, didn't ever want to try the showers so used our own, only used toilets if I had to, they had a bad smell. Every one who visited the animal park used them as well as us campers,
The waste disposal point was very bad but wont go in to detail.
The park was great for the kids and they loved going round looking at the animals
So all in all I wouldn't go back but the kids enjoyed the place so that was fine.

Just returned from a weekend here. Family of four (kids 10 & 8) & dog.
The campsite itself was lovely, well set out. Pitches varied in size and you were allocated a numbered pitch on arrival. The owners allowed us to swap to a different one as our electric cable wouldn't reach from the electric point! Some of the pitches were quite small and we were unable to park our car and pitch our tent in ours but our neighbours allowed us to park on their larger pitch! All the pitches have a hardstanding and we were told to pitch our tent over it (turns out we had no choice since it wouldn't have fitted any other way! Anyway, this turned out to be quite handy because the weather wasn't too good so it kept bottom of the tent dry!
The camp itself is extremely secure, with a electronic gate to enter/exit. I felt quite happy for the kids to play on the park etc with moderate supervision. The animal park was supurb. Kept the kids entertained for the whole weekend. Quite enjoyed it myself too! Dog's have to be kept on a lead and not allowed in the animal park. There is a field across the road where you can let them off for a run.
The shower/toilets were kept really clean, they were basic, but we weren't expecting the hilton! They were a bit of a walk, which is no problem during the day but it was a LONG walk in the middle of the night! We were also unable to find any washing up sinks so had to resort to boiling water all weekend to wash dishes!
The main gripe about this campsite was some of the other campers, who found it acceptable to be up shouting/swearing etc up to 3am! There was 'quiet after 11' rule but this wasn't enforced.
There is a club house open til 11, we didn't use it as kids were in bed but it looked welcoming enough!
All in all brilliant weekend if you have kids. Would recommend (if you can avoid the other vile campers!)

Visited on the royal wedding bank hol weekend. We have been here several times and have never had a bad time yet. Yes the toilets are shared with visitors but always seem to be cleaned regularly and the showers were new, powerful and hot, as was the boiler in the washing up room.
It is a little walk through the playground etc but not a problem. The play area is great for kids as is all the other things on offer. We went in the bar on our last night and my 2 boys (age 5 and 8) enjoyed the games. The owner is always friendly as are all the other staff.
There is a big asda within walking distance as the farm itself only seems to sell fresh eggs (very tasty) and the usual cafe food and drinks which are pricey.
I discovered a nice little walk which led us to a nice play area and football field - if you come out of the site and head back for the main road, right opposite is Clay Hill Lane (now shut to traffic and if you walk right to the end you come to the dual carriageway with a blue footbridge to the right that takes you right into Asda).
Walk down about 100 yards and there is a public football to the left, go through the gate and carry on through another 2 gates until you reach the end next to the forest, turn left and on the right is a play area.
You can also get back to the campsite from here carrying on into cul de sac and through 2 more small paths until you come round the back of the farm and approach it from the other side. There is also a pub called the white bear if you fancy a drink. You can also use this site as a base for visiting north Wales, Llandudno 1 hour from here.
This farm is only 50 minutes from our home in Tameside and my children are always upset when we leave. I have recommended it to many families and not one of them has come back and been disappointed. We will be visiting again.

After booking first and then doing the silly thing of reading the reviews afterwards, was a bit worried, after what I had read! We arrived on the Good Friday early, to be greeted by the Warden who was on site, think we caused chaos at first because we had a group of 3 caravans obviously arriving at the same time, so we were shown to our pitches immediately allowed to set up first before booking in. Honest opinion was really impressed, lovely site, quiet birds chirping away. After setting up, we booked in, the staff were very helpful and I can say approachable if needed.
Not far to get fresh water from, we had 2 points available and never had to queue. Once settled we went and explored a bit, followed a short path straight onto the playarea, which was fantastic if you had kids. Found the loos, they are not a huge distance away and were extremely clean. Within an hour the site was full all setting tents and caravans up, superbly managed.
One downfall well it isn't a downfall as such, site was quiet after 11, we retired for the evening only to be woken up at 3am, 6am 9am and somewhere in between by this horrendous noise, quiet scary first time you hear it. In the morning we went on an adventure to find where this noise was coming from! To discover the LEMURS. Noisy little critters, once you know that it is animals making a noise you can live with it. Don't be put off by that comment.
Whilst visiting the park the animals look happy and well looked after, they even sell puppies, my friend bought one and took it home the day we left, beautiful little thing. I was after the smallest one but the warden wouldn't let me take it just yet, so left name and number hopefully he will contact me soon!
There is a local spar and pub in the little village, which is worth a visit. Our group of friends are all middle aged and really enjoyed this trip, and will be going back, but if you have children really really recommend it.

We have visited Greenacres Farm Park many times over the years with our two young children (now 8 and 6) and so decided to take the tent and make a weekend of it.
The site location is good, being just off the motorway, and the welcome from reception was ok.
The toilets were dirty and in desperate need of refurbishment, with groups of kids playing around them at night. We only stayed 1 night but I would not have used the showers as they were not very inviting.
Campers have to share the toilets with Park visitors and they are a fair distance from the camping field.
The rules stated (as at most campsites) that kids should be accompanied by adults whilst in the playing area, toilets and animal park, but it was obvious that this wasn't adhered to.
Compared to other campsites we have stayed at over the summer holidays this is the worse and I definitely would not recommend it to anyone.

Nice site Basic but enough for what we where looking for.
Strange to make us park on grass and pitch awning on hard standing even after questioning it twice ??
Toilets a little walk away but nothing major as I wasn't looking for en-suite. Showers could do with update but not urgent they worked they where cleaned regular and where big enough to move around.
Animal park was amazing for 15yr old 10yr old and 3 yr old and also two 40+s.
Only thing was that's all that we could find to do and got bored within 2 days so we left on the 3rd. I prefer being able to go on long walks and this was not a wooded area for my 2 dogs to run fee in. It was too near main roads for my personal enjoyment.
So to finish I've been there did that, wont be rushing back.

Nice little campsite with clean showers and toilets, price includes entry into animal park too where you can help feed the goats, look at the lovely animals, watch the birds and hold the rabbits and dogs. The campsite has a barn with little shows on to entertain the kids, a small area with little rides and pney rides. A tractor ride runs all day where you can see the pigs racing and the horses smiling. There is a nice little cafe on site a little shop for gifts and it has it's own fishing lake. At night you can have a sing song on the karaoke and a get together in the bar. Sometimes they have a BBQ too. Nice little site for a few days rest, and there is a big ASDA not far too and it is easy to go out for days into the welsh valleys too or go to the sea side. Nice location.

Yet again another wonderful month camping, been going for 4 yrs now, and this month spent every weekend at greenacres and all of may half term. Yet again can't fault the owners, John the owner has rectified a few problems, mainly my putting in new showers, so they are now wonderful and a boiler in the dishwasher room.
I don't agree that its a long walk to the toilets, maybe 2 mins at most, debbie the cleaner is now cleaning the toilets 3 times a day in busy periods ie school hols / bank holidays so the toilets aren't as bad.
The bbq and stew nights were great and even john put on the tv on sat night so we could all watch football and Britains got talent, he really does listen to what us campers say and acts whenever possible.
Can't wait till 1st july when tent up till 31st aug.

The first thing to realise about Greenacres is it is a farm park first and campsite second.
The Farm park is good, there's a good selection of animals, a small fair and animal petting area. There is a large kids play area next to the camp site. There's also a tractor ride (on a trailer) to a field across the road with a good selection of larger animals including a dancing horse and a pig race!
There is a club house within the farm park that is a cafe during the day and a bar for the campers in the evening.
The Campsite is Clean and tidy, the bins in each field are emptied every day. The fields are well kept and most pitches are level.
The campsite does have one major downside though. The location of the Toilet / shower block!
The blocks themselves are great (4x WC's 3x Showers and 4x sinks) for each gender. The blocks are cleaned twice a day (6am and 6pm).
There also a dish washing room
The bad point is the camp WC Block is shared with the farm park visitors during the day and located right in the middle of the farm park a long walk from the camping field.
Despite the location of the WC this is a great site for a short stay with young kids. If your after a site to use as a base for a longer stay or don't have young kids then I advice you look else where (mainly because of the WC issue)

Had read reviews before booking site so felt I knew what to expect but to be honest was still disappointed. The site is easy to find and is sign posted from the Queensferry exit at the end of the M56. Campers are allowed unlimited access to the farm. There is no security barrier onto the caravan park which obviously means that access is unsupervised (we did see the warden on the camping site several times rounding up people who had parked on the campsite to go into the farm ie. Not paid the admission. V cheeky!) The farm itself is a little dated and in need of some TLC. Some of the animals pens were overgrown and full of weeds. However, they had a good variety of animals such as emus, porcupines, monkeys, owls, rabbits, rats, pups and more and they did do a lot of animal handling on the farm which is interesting for children. We also enjoyed the tractor ride which takes you across the road to another area with horses and pigs etc. The park on the site was good and children loved it, variety of swings, slides and climbing frames. On the camping side pitches were relatively flat but in busy periods quite difficult to access with a tourer as they are quite squashed together. There are no separate facilities for campers so we needed to use the toilets within the farm. As it was a bank holiday weekend when we stayed the farm was extremely busy with visitors and therefore the toilets were busy too and became a little dirty by the end of the day though the cleaner was very friendly and helpful and did a good job. There were only 2 showers within the farm toilet block, basically I would not use the shower during the farm opening hours as they were usually packed with visitors and when we did venture to use them they didn't work properly! It was not a shower, merely a trickle down the wall running icy cold then dangerously hot. Both showers were unusable! Elsan waste point was also located within the farm which seems silly and was not at floor level so it was a little tricky to empty the waste master. The restaurant (its a cafe!) on site offered a limited menu but was quite expensive £2.50 for a chip barm, £4.80 for basic cheeseburger (bun, burger, slice cheese) and a few chips, £4.80 for chips, egg and beans! There was also a small barbecue within the farm selling burgers and hotdogs. The restaurant also doubled as the club at night. We only ventured in there once, there was a small range of beers and wines available and entertainment on for the kiddies. The site is situated within half a mile of Queensferry Centre where there is a 24 hour Asda (with a McDonalds within it), there is also Flintshire Caravan Sales which is handy for any camping accessories. In all we did have an enjoyable weekend, kids absolutely loved it and would like to go back, but adults were less impressed. Site would benefit from an update and separate facilities for campers definitely needed.
