Quite a nice campsite located close to Swansea, and within easy reach of lots of local attractions. It has a good view over the Swansea bay area, and at night time the city lights look very pretty. Oxwich Bay and Rhossili were within a reasonable drive, and both beaches were lovely.

There were a few points that put a damper on our stay however. Firstly, the position of the camp on the top of a hill means that it is very windy, and there is very little shelter in the camping fields from this. The weather wasn't good either, and although this is to be expected in Wales, it did make the visit more expensive- although amply prepared with camping cookers and food, it was a bit hard to cook with all the wind and rain. It would be handy for the site to have an undercover shelter out of the wind in the camping fields for this purpose.

The showers and toilets were fine, and the bathrooms that were for the use of campers only were lovely by campsite standards! It was very handy to have a hot drinks machine in the barn area, with cups of coffee and hot chocolate etc 60p each. With the cold weather, this was lovely! The camping fields were nice
The farm itself does lots of activities, but as these are all on the expensive side we did not do anything except a short pony ride for my five year old son. It could do with some sort of playthings for children- the last campsite we stayed in had a simple tyre swing hung from a tree which kept him amused for hours!

One last point is that although it is advertised as having woodland camping, it was a bit hard to find! Another couple we met turned up outside of reception opening hours and could not find where they were supposed to camp, having paid for this. We stayed in the main fields however, so this was not a problem for us.

Overall, this campsite is good value and fine, but I would not say it is one of the best I've ever stayed in. The staff were friendly though and there were no major problems aside from the weather!

Lovely little farm. Not too busy, amazing views of Swansea Bay and Mumbles. 5 mins from Swansea but feels very rural.

Great for being able to go out in Mumbles, but also no more than half an hour from some incredible beaches. Rhossili beach rivals anything I've seen in Australia or California.

Toilets and showers weren't all that clean, and there was no hot water, but we were only there a couple of nights so no big deal. No charges for any facilities on site and use of a fridge and freezer which was very useful. Garage down the road did basic food stuffs.

Great for kids, couples or groups. Would come again!

 The Good:

-No caravans
-Good flat pitches
-Well kept fields
-Lots of running around space for the kids
-Nice amount of space between pitched tents
-Lots of on site activities (horse riding etc)
-The surrounding area is beautiful
-Close to some outstanding beaches (ie Rhossili Bay)
-Very helpful and friendly reception staff
-Free showers

The Bad:

-Don't think the toilets or shower areas were cleaned at all throughout our stay. Apart from me using the provided yucky mop and bucket. I swear life was evolving from scratch in that bucket.
-A schizo dog that barked at only things it could see throughout the day. It also got out of it's 'pen' and is a tad unfriendly.
-No hot water in the washing up hut.

If it were me I would.

-Definately set up a cleaning rota for those showers and toilets. It may seem like a small thing but I like a clean toilet. Somewhere I can let my pants down and not worry about them soaking up god knows what :-s It really let down what could be an excellent campsite.
-Move that dog to somewhere away from the campsite. There's loads of space so dunno why it's penned up right next to the campsite.
-Fix the hot water in the washing up hut.

So in summary

A lovely site, with some really good points - detracted by some rather unpleasant toilets and showers.

Although strictly speaking this is tents only, we were able to stay overnight on the carpark in our little demountable - no vehicles in camping field. We had a friendly reception. The facilities are 'homely', certainly not regimented, no electric hook up but only £5 pp per night. As it was wet August we didn't venture over to the railway carriage washing up facilities having our own sink.

Fantastic situation overlooking Swansea Bay and close to the moorlands of central Gower.

The notice inside the barn that houses the showers and toilets was one tent campers would be relieved to see in a typically British Summer - if it all goes pear shaped you are welcome to sleep in here but no sleeping in as we will be in at 10.00 a.M. To take the riders out.

You felt very rural although the approach is through a residential area and you are only a short distance from the Mumbles and Swansea with museums if it is really not outside weather (like this August)

Stayed at Clyne Farm for what was probably the wettest weekend this summer so far (8th-10th August).
Directions to the site are quite straight forward as indicated on the Clyne web site. However, it was a little tricky on the narrow road to the farm with a few potholes in the road. Reception is located near the car park on arrival and the staff are very helpful directing me to the tent pitch that would probably suit us best.

We had two tents and 4 adults and at £5 per night per person was reasonable. We pitched near the little pond with the ducks and swan. The ground was flat but a little stoney. There was however a little incline towards the pond.

The working farm has pigs, sheep and horses, where for the more adventerous you can book rides and there is also archery, climbing wall and much more. Perhaps best to enquire in advance. The toilets and showers are basis but hot. The Farm is very environmentally friendly with recycling encourged and an emphasis on keeping noise and use of the car to a minimum. (preferably before 11.00pm) You can hire cottages and even one of the 2 teepees (yea thats right!) teepees that are on the farm. There is no clubhouse but a little selction of items can be purchased from Reception - milk, bread etc.)

The views of Swansea Bay and Mumbles are fantastic and sunset is a sight to behold, on the one evening we had dry. If you are looking to go into town for a drink, for about £5.50 you can get a taxi into Mumbles town for what is a seafront packed with shops and pubs. We tried the White Rose Pub(bit like a Weatherspoons) Food was good and beer cheap, they also have a games room and Sky TV. We ended the evening with a reasonble priced chinese which we took back to our tent.

As mentioned the weather was atrocious, but we survived the weekend, but a little damp. I can only imagine how our weekend would have been - if we had the weather. However, we had a great time and would return for the tranquil location and great views of the Mumbles.
