Stopped here for the Jubilee weekend and I must say I was very disappointed for the price we paid £21 per night.
The site itself is ok, nice flat grass field with a pub at the entrance however you have to get permission to bring your car in the field to unload and then have to park in the pub car park which is fine, however when the pub is busy the car park obviously gets full, only just managed to get parked on one of the days. We were escorted to where we were to pitch and told to be 4 foot away from the awning next door, seems a little too close for me.
The toilet block which has recently had a revamp was not very nice, it wasn't clean, the revamp seemed to consist of new tiles (be warned the floor can be quite slippy when wet). The lights in the men's were broken with just 1 light working that stayed on all day and night, the lights in the ladies didn't come on until gone 9:30pm, leaving it quite dark for those wanting to get ready to go out.
The washing up facilities were located in the ladies toilets with a sign saying no pot washing in the men's, not quite sure how us blokes are supposed to wash the pots in this equal world we live in! I ended up boiling the kettle to do the pots in the tent which is what I normally do so wasn't too big a problem for me, but I can see it being for others.
On the Sunday when it rained for most of the day, power kept tripping out at various caravans across the site and as such the caravanners had to resort to using the sinks in the toilets to do the pots, which meant a queue to use the facilities.
Food in the pub is lovely, we had a Sunday dinner there however we had to wait 1hr 30 mins to be seated (this after being told there was a 30 minute wait).
There is a park for the kids to play on but it is over at the pub, right on the edge of the road out of site of the campsite and it consists on 1 climbing / swing / slide / smiley face tree thingy so I would be uncomfortable letting children loose there unaccompanied.
The site does allow dogs but although I love dogs it seemed that every other pitch had at least 1 dog, some 2 or 3 including yappy dogs, the owners seeming to leave the dogs during the day in the awnings to bark merrily away at the slightest noise, also next door to the site lived a large dog that seemed to spend the day alternating between barking and whining. So not a site for a quiet relaxing get away.
All in all I would not recommend this site, if the price was lowered to match the facilities then I wouldn't complain but at this price you expect more.

Don't think I will be visiting again. The staff show no interest whatsoever. I had to ask for the ladies toilets to be cleaned and the toilet paper replenished they said they had been done that morning and that campers were pinching the toilet rolls. The same sweet wrappers were on the floor that had been there all weekend, they went and cleaned the ladies but didn't touch the gents however later in the week the same snail was still crawling on the window and the same cobwebs were still there. When a complaint was made about there being no hot water for showers they said that someone had left the hot tap running. When the electric kept cutting out they said someone was using too much however when I did that it only tripped mine out and not the whole site. They advertise that they sell food, our party of four went into the restaurant on the Saturday night and despite there being only four other customers in it took 50 minutes to get our food and when we requested a meal on the Wednesday night we were told there were no meals because the kitchen had been cleaned! All this on a site that charges 27. 00 per night for a tourer and 22. 00 per night for a tent at bank holiday no wonder they had vacancies at short notice

Campsite nice and level and pitch ok but far too close to the next people we could nearly touch the tent behind our caravan out of our window.
Toilets and showers very poor, the refurb was some tiles stuck over what was there before, they were dirty every time we went and from saturday midday until Monday morning there was no toilet roll and we had to take our own over to the toilets.
On Sunday the electric went off 5 times, the showers cannot be used when the electric goes off, there is a pull cord which allows about 3/4 minutes of water. We (my daughter and I) both got changed twice and the electric went off, it took between 20 minutes and 30 minutes to come back on which was a nightmare. So no shower on sunday!
When we enquired what was wrong with the electric we were told it was safety cut out when the system was overloaded and it should cutout and come back on after 3 minutes, it took between 20 minutes and half an hour each time to come back on and would only come back on when the owner went to sort it.
We finally got a shower on Monday morning at 8:15am we went over and the water was freezing. After the shower the owner had come in to do some cleaning (which was desperately needed) and we asked if the showers were normally cold and she went off on one saying it was not her problem, the showers were cold and that it was not her fault the electrics had not worked and we could not get showered the day before. I did ask who's problem it was as she was the owner and we had paid her £27 per night but just said if you don't like it don't come again.
So customer service from her was awful.
The staff behind the bar and the male owner seemed nice, but all in all they are only bothered about the money they get and not the service they provide.
They will only take card payments for deposits and you have to pay cash on arrival for the balance something we were not told and neither were the people that booked in behind us. The lady behind us was told that deposits went through one way and then the cash goes in another way. Very strange in this day and age.
I would not pay over £12 per night for a site like this.

This was a great campsite. We chose to go camping last weekend here and were pleasantly surprised.
The campsite was very clean and secure and the toilet/shower blocks were good. There are two showers in the women’s toilet block which may mean a queue during the busy periods.
The only disadvantage of this campsite is that the pot washing facility is in the women’s toilet/shower block which meant that I had to wash the pots and my boyfriend couldn't!
The pub on the site was excellent, very hospitable and welcoming, serving excellent food at a good price.
It is located very close to the beach, Fantasy Island and Ingoldmells.
Would definitely recommend and hope to return next year.

What a gem of a campsite. My wife and I stayed here for a long weekend and what can I say.
The welcome was very friendly, the campsite was flat, quiet and clean, the showers were clean and just the right temperature but best of all, the food was fantastic and very reasonable.
We arrived late on the Saturday and they were kind enough to keep the restaurant open till we got our tent up.
Ingolmels is only about 15 walk away if you want a more lively time but stay at the pub for a more relaxed and friendly evening as the staff and owners make you feel most welcome.
Already talking about going back next year with grand-daughter.

Hi we have a seasonal pitch here, the site has what anyone needs for camping. Clean toilets, hot showers. The owners are having a laundry put in.
The pub is value for money, for great beer and food. There's a kids room and play area. Great karaoke. The bar staff and are friendly and polite
Ingoldmells is a 15ms walk

We have just arrived back from the kings head campsite, it was our first time camping and when we arrived it was pouring down with rain, the owners couldn't have been more helpful. After pitching our tent we went for a drink in the pub, and mentioned we had a fault on our trailer and did they know anywhere we could take it - they had it sorted for us in two days at the price of a couple of pints! Couldn't believe their hospitality. We ate many nights in the pub and the meals were excellent, extremely good value and all fresh produce. Drinks were very reasonable and the entertainment fantastic ! We are now bona fide campers and are visiting again very soon

Excellent campsite and great staff!
We stopped at the Kings Head for the April bank holiday weekend and had a fantastic time. After reading other reviews I thought this might not be the greatest campsite, but all bad reviews are wrong. The campsite has a good ablution block, which con sited of showers, toilets and sinks. All of which were clean apart from a few bits of grass people walk in! The staff was always helpful and friendly.
At night time i'd recommend the pub, it has a great atmosphere and the karaoke only adds to that. Ingoldmells is only a 15 minute walk away. This campsite was not power mad on rules and was fair to let you just get on with having a good time, as long as you respected others. We have already booked our next weekend on this campsite and would fully recommend it. After talking to the manager she also said all groups are welcome.

Visited over the bank holiday, first impressions are not really favourable, although after being their for a few hours it didn't seem too bad. The toilet block definitely needs a revamp. The pub is well worth a visit, superb food. Saturday night is Kareokee night which was excellent, the land lady being a fab singer. Even I got up to sing! Approximately 20 minute walk into Ingoldmells so noise was not an issue. All in all it has the potential of being a nice little site with a bit of improvement to facilities.

Whilst the pub staff were very friendly and overall the site was very clean, the toilet and shower block was dirty and smelly. It's only a small site and the mens and ladies areas both had 3 toilets and 2 showers so doesn't take much to clean, but there was mould and dirt and huge great big brown moths!
The shower cubicles - both in the mens and ladies - one didn't have a lock on the door but had hooks to hang your clothes and somewhere to put your toiletries and the other did have a lock but nowhere to put your toiletries. I even showered in my flip flops it was that dirty! I know it was probably from other residents on the site but you can tell when somewhere is cleaned well and someone has made a mess or where somewhere isn't cleaned well and someone is just leaving it as it was when they used it! Which was stated in the rules, leave the toilet and shower blocks as you found them!
On the positive, the staff in the pub were very friendly and the food looked fantastic and you certainly got a lot for your money, we didn't eat in the pub but everyone we saw who ate there, left with empty plates.
Security is good, barrier system, but the owners do need to keep a listen out for noise after 11.30pm, as stated in their rules, noise should be kept to a minimum after 11.30pm. 2.30am and the noise was still going from a group of people on the site.
No one was around on the morning we left, so I couldn't complain in person.
