Spent last weekend (31st July) at Gweryd, using the 'bivvy' accommodation, as a change from the tent.
Site is great for those who fish! and woodland walks were great too,
1 shower and 1 each male. Female toilets but didn't wait for more than about 3 minutes to use shower, little shop and cafe on site
Staff really helpful and polite
Bivvy was very basic and in a windy spot so was hard to cook outside
But the campsite area looked a little more protected and was certainly being well used by campers.
Shops in Mold or Ruthin, 5/6 miles away catered for all needs

This is not a site for Children This is a site for Fishing and Noise Restrictions Apply as they should. Facilities for Camping are being improved and the peace and tranquillity are hard to surpass.
If you like woodland walks and peace and quiet then this is the place for you. Yes Access is restricted from 9.30 Pm till 7.30 am as there is Night fishing. But parking facilities exist, Access to the site is by dirt track but not difficult for people who can actually drive. The site is clean and well maintained the staff and Management are friendly and helpful but noise is not tolerated. All in all a little Gem and I really hope it stays that way. We don't actually fish but enjoyed the location woodland walks etc.
Would recommend this site to anyone looking to have a quiet few days.

We thought that this would be a good site to visit as it had 3 lakes that father in law could fish in, and the rest of us could have a nice relax, a walk to the pub a mile away and enjoy nice views.
Upon getting into the nearby village we noticed the pub and made a note of how far it was and how easy to get to then followed the signs, first the narrow country lanes, then the dirt tracks, then the steep hills! (All of which had no lighting ) which was over 2 miles and not the 1 stated on the website!
On arriving at reception we were told that our pitches were 7 and 8, but after looking for the pitches for 30 Min's we went back to be told we could pitch anywhere.
The view from the site is breathtaking and very quiet, and at night pitch black
The toilets and showers were OK, but take your own loo roll as there was not any there most of the time and when it was, it was kitchen roll! The shop was OK if you needed any fishing tackle but that was about it and the cafe looked OK
The walks around the lake are quite nice for a afternoon walk and even has a Australian 'Dunnie' en-route!
As for the fishing, Father in law went to the smaller lake for 5 hours but didn't rate it that good, one bite in the time he was there!
In all a OK site if you want to be in the middle of nowhere, not a site if you have kids as they might get bored

This site has some very good pluses and very bad minuses.
This site has basic facilities for campers. We camped by the lower lake and I must say we were disappointed with the old portakabin which had two toilets and one shower, floor soaking wet. There is a piece of decking to walk up to get into the toilets. This got very slippery after rain as my finance discovered when he slid down it!
However the camp has beautiful scenery, is peaceful and had plenty of hot water.
It has a forest within the site which has lovely walks. There is a cafe on site. It's a bit expensive and the food is nothing special really.
If the owners spent a bit on the toilets and showers this would be a perfect place to camp. But it might be that their main business is the fishing they provide at their two lakes and that the camping is only a small add on.
If you don't mind basic facilities this place is for you. Be prepared for a very steep drive from the village up to the site!
