Splendid site superbly located for access to cycle route network which made exploring the vicinity so easy.

Site has mature trees and well established hedges. Very clean wash blocks and toilets which were very clean apart from the loo's near the entrance which were smelly. Plenty of hot water in the showers.

Very well stocked shop which because the weather was so good could have stayed open a bit later - closed at 5.30pm.

This was an excellent base for our holiday. The nearby coast was in easy reach by bike as were the Keukenhof Gardens and Leison.

The plots were all a generous size and some could be in full sun all day - if you want shade choose you plot carefully.

We have just returned from 13 days at this site. It is in a great location for visiting just about anywhere in Holland and being only about 1 hour from the Ferry your don't feel as if you are constantly driving. The site has a well stocked shop, although felt as if spent a small fortune on the morning croissants and bread. The pool was great for my children 9 and 4. My youngest took part in some of the activities, but they were all conducted in Dutch and she felt a little out of it. We cycled to the beach on a few occasions and they are beautiful. We also visited Maduradam, Leiden market (best on a Saturday), Harleem, Alkmaar cheese market on a Friday morning and you have to have fish and chips in Zandvoort from the Kroon van at the end of the boulevard fantastic. Would definitely go back to Koningshof again as a good base and clean site.

A lovely site, friendly, helpful staff all English speaking. Some sites are a little cramped if you are staying for more than a week it might be as well to ask for a super pitch. Toilets always clean and plenty of hot water. Pools looked good (outdoor not in use as we were out of season). Site organises trips to Keukenhof gardens, fabulous, and Amsterdam (Thursday only) we used Park and Ride at Slotderdijk as we left on Thursday. Bike hire available from site, great bikes and saves taking your own if only there for a short visit as we were.

Well worth a visit to a interesting area with plenty to do.

The previous reviews of this site have been very good.

We visited Camping Koningshof for the half term week, their website was very good and included a very reasonable half term deal for a family with a touring caravan.

The site is quite large, and includes a large area at the end of the site where you cannot park your car, in October, we were on the larger pitches near the entrance (where you can!).

The facilities are 1st class, it has a small takeaway, restaurant and 2 swimming pools.

We drove their from the Hoek van Holland, and it takes about 45mins on good roads, I would really recommend this for first time continental touring.

Koningshof is also a very good base to explore Holland and Belgium, although parking is really bad in nearby Leiden, I would recommend a small drive to the next station down the line at Voorhout, parking is right next door and free all day!

From Voorhout, you can get to Amsterdam, Den Haag (The Haigh) and Rotterdam. We would strongly recommend a day visit to the miniature village at Den Haag. It is called Madurodam, and is 10 mins tram ride from Den Haag station tram 9.

Great site, very reasonable, and no worry on the pitch or electricity side, several other reviews stated that they had reverse polarity, we didn't.

Good luck, happy camping.!

We stayed on this site in peak season, and still it was quiet, mostly families with pre teen children and older couples.

Took us about an hour from Hook of Holland to get there.

Staff very friendly and facilities very clean.

This site does have revered polarity, but someone showed me how to change my hook up lead around and then it worked fine.

We had one of the super pitches as on booking we were informed our TT would not fit on a standard pitch, in reality it would have. The standard pitches had medium sized caravan plus awning plus car, though that only left room for some chairs in front, where as our pitch we had plenty of room and kept the children contained.

The site wi-fi did not work on our pitch unless we held laptop 6ft in air, and my laptop was not portable couldn't test it else where.

Easy to reach two local beaches Noorwjick is a small town expensive to park there 2 Euros per hour, while Kajwick is only 90 cents per hour or 5 euros per day, both beaches are cyclable as well.

Lots of cycle paths around so bring your bikes.

We went to Amsterdam from the site, took about 30 mins to drive to Park and Ride (which is 6 euros to park and rail ticket for 5 people) which is actually very small and after waiting 20 mins to get in gave up and parked in large car park next to it and had to buy rail tickets which all together cost 18 Euros for 4 people.

Rotterdam Zoo is a good day out, it closes at 6 but the animals go to bed at around 5, it is a very full day out we were there 8 hours and didn't get to see everything.

Rijsnburg has a sufficient supermarket and the camp site shop fills in any missing items. Bread seems to be baked daily and is gone by the afternoon so buy early.

The indoor swimming pool was very much enjoyed by both my boys and they spent an hour or two there each day and it never seemed busy.

Had a great holiday, staying in a beautiful clean area of Holland. Reception staff helpful and spoke good English. Our pitch was adequate for our tent and car but felt a little compact. Toilet facilities were a little dated but spotless and the showers were excellent.
The swimming pool complex was great, however no lifeguard. Your ticket allowed you in for as long as you liked, but no return within 90 mins so don't forget your ball / towel / goggles! Bike hire from reception excellent value at 4 Euros for 1/2 day.
Excellent well stocked shop, however only open until 11.30am and then from 4.30 - 6.30pm. Entertainment for younger children included loud music 'wake up call' for approx 10mins at 10am and 6pm.
Nearby beaches Katwijk and Noordwijk had beautiful white sand. Amsterdam less than an hour away but arrive at park and ride early or miss out. Good site would stay again.

Great campsite for an all round enjoyable stay in Holland.

We booked on line and paid in full before arrival so no problem there. In fact the arrangements for paying in advance were great.

On arrival reception staff are very helpful, English is no problem. All our questions were answered. We were also provided with a useful information booklet in English.

We booked one of the super pitches. There is a sort of hard standing provided for caravan and car and plenty of space for the awning and anything else you may have. So no problem with muddy soft ground. Water, waste and electric points all in the same place together with a TV plug which I didn't use. One thing to note. The plugs is a UK type, I always test when abroad and found it to be reversed polarity.

Showers and toilets are spotless with lots of hot water.

There is an indoor swimming complex on site that has an automatic bar code entry system. You are provided with tickets on arrival. Once in the building you can stay as long as you like but if you leave it will not let you back in for 90 minutes. Don't ask why, I don't know.

There a children's play area and for the angler there is a free fishing lake.

Everything is close to hand. We drove to one of the park and rides that serve Amsterdam and then used the train. Really easy.

Will I return - you bet. Great site in a great location.

To Find site:- When coming through Rijnsburg the site is well signed.

Koningshof is a long established campsite popular with Brits and the Dutch. During school holidays it can be very busy, this applies to the first two weeks of May as well as the main summer period. Pitches are in the region of about 90/100 sq metres although there are larger ones available at extra cost. They are set out in groups that vary in number.
The arrangement of the pitches can make them feel cramped. In some sections you are required to leave your car in the adjacent parking area. Electric supply is a useful 10amp. Water points are convenient to the pitches but are of the push button variety. The toilet blocks are of a good standard.
Most of the facilities are geared to towards keeping children entertained including an excellent swimming complex with both indoor and outdoor pools. There is also an adventure style playground. The site organises a lot of 'Animation' for children during the school holidays. There are two restaurants and a takeaway. The site shop is well stocked including UK newspapers available on the day. An excellent feature of this site is their free WiFi service which can be accessed from most touring pitches.

The beauty of this campsite is that it is so convenient to many of the visitor attractions in Holland. The fabulous Keukenhof Gardens are less than 10 miles away, the reception sells tickets at a slight reduction. The Duinrell Recreation Park is about the same distance in the other direction.
The site run a weekly excursion by coach to Amsterdam. Delft and Den Haag are also quite near. The coast at Katwijk is only a mile or so away from the site. If you take bicycles with you then Holland is a place that really caters for you. If you need any caravan accessories or just want a nose round a Dutch caravan dealers there is one in Voorhout a short distance from the site.
