Have had an excellent holiday on this site.
Agree with everything said in the previous posts.
We made better time on our way there, than we had anticipated, so contacted the site to see if we could get a pitch, a day earlier than we had booked, which wasn't a problem. We got there at 9pm at night, but had forgotten to ask where to go once we arrived, as reception closed at 7.30pm. We met the young man who was head of the animation team, who was very friendly and helpful and he took us to the bar, where Eric got us sorted. This left us with a very good first impression of the site and it was to continue that way.
Our kids are 12yrs and 14yrs and they loved this site. This is the first time they have ever joined in organized activities. The young man who was head of animations, really made the effort to get kids to join in. One afternoon he walked round the site inviting kids to join in the table tennis tournament, stopped with our daughter, invited her to come and asked her to bring her brother. We were impressed by the fact he had known about him.
Also at 8pm each night(apart from Saturday) there were family activities and he made you feel welcome, as did the rest of the team.
There was a teenage disco from 10pm to midnight some nights, our kids didn't want to go so cant comment on it, but you never heard any noise from it. In fact the site was really peaceful and quiet at night, also because of the fact that it is in the middle of the countryside, there was no light pollution. One morning at 4am I couldn't sleep as it was so warm, so I went outside and have never seen the sky so full of stars, it was amazing.
Can't not mention Bob the 'Kubb man' as our kids called him. Each night at 8pm he sets up this game and shows you how to play it. You can play against other families, which was great fun. This was our sons favourite part of the holiday. It is very hard to figure out how to play the game unless you actually take part in it, but be warned, as it becomes very addictive.
The site organised a canoe trip on the Loire river once a week, which we went on and had a great time.
The mini market on Monday night was good to get fresh fruit and veg, also cheese, olives, chorzio sausage, brioche bread. There was a girl from one of the local vineyards, she was selling really good wine from 3.20Euros. Also a girl who had a stall selling soap, which was good as it meant we could bring something different home for presents.
One thing you need to be aware of is that you may need a long lead for the electric hookup as it can be quite a distance from your pitch.
There is a list in the bar so that you can order bread for the next day, just look for your pitch number and tick what you want from the list.
The closest supermarket is in Coutures,(2mins by car) it is small, but quite well stocked, closes all day on Tuesday. There is also a restaurant but we didn't try it.
Next closest town is St. Mathurin (15mins by car), it is small and has a supermarket, bakery, butchers, a shop that sells fishing bait etc. And some restaurants.
The closest large supermarket (Le Clerc) is in Brissac Quince (approx 30mins by car). It also has quite a good market, forget which day it is on, but the site has a list of markets, on the information board outside the bar.
Would have no hesitation going back to this site.

This is our 2nd year running we have stayed at parc de montsabert. After the madness of the Dordogne this campsite was perfect for an extra week to relax on the way home!
The facilities are 1st class always kept clean and hot water every shower! The owners Eric and Brigitte work very hard to help you out and make sure you enjoy your stay.
Our kids love this site - yes it has not got wavy rivers and huge waterslides but they love the pool and being able to ride their bikes around in complete safety. This is fast becoming our favourite campsite and the area is superb, never seeming to get too busy and the châteaux at Brissac is a must see.
At 10.30pm you cannot hear a sound which is complete bliss if like me your fed up with drunk British teenagers on campsites!
This site is perfect if you have young children (pre teenage) and we will definitely be going back

Stayed here with our 5 year old and 2 year old for three nights on our way further south, and next time will be staying for longer!
Lovely spacious site with large pitches (easily 10x10 m) marked out with hedges - we were lucky enough to be on one of the pitches overlooking the children's play area so we could keep an eye on them from our pitch. The kids had a fantastic time - in addition to the play area there were 3 trampolines, bouncy castle, as well as the swimming and paddling pools. Toilets and showers were spotless during our stay, and there were plenty of washing up and laundry sinks. The bar serves excellent beer and even chills the glasses - fantastic!
Most of the other campers seemed to be Dutch, a few other Brits and a few French - all very friendly. We were given an information pack on arriving with details of local markets, and there's a tiny shop in the corner of the bar that stocks the bare essentials. We didn't do much local exploring but there was a lot of information on local attractions: chateaux, troglodyte sites, vineyards etc.
My favourite plus for this site: there's a lot of open communal space and they haven't crammed as many pitches as possible onto the site, so even when (nearly) full it doesn't feel crowded. There's a good mix of stuff for kids and adults, and we're definitely planning on returning next year.

First class campsite large hedged pitches, with water drainage electric. Spacious campsite lots of trees big area to play boules kubb etc.Order bread each day for following morning. Toilets separate men and women, showers very hot. Washing machines, tumble driers irons. Free tennis, table tennis, crazy golf. Can hire bikes, ride donkeys. Restaurant, food fab, service a little slow. Kids club only 4-12 years no teenage club, Dutch animation and kids club only speak English if there are 5 or more English kids!
We have just returned from 18 days there, apart from an incident in rouen DO NOT FOLLOW SATNAV through town! We had a fantastic holiday, the area is lovely sun flowers and chateaus, great supermarket in samuer, lovely boat rides. Campsite very very relaxed and safe for children like going back 20 years in uk! Pools lovely a little busy end July aug but weather perfect mostly mid high 20s! The owner is very helpful and works very hard to make sure everything is perfect. Entertainment was great once a week a live band or singer, when you get there you receive a timetable with kids clubs/animation/entertainment on so everyone is catered for.

We stayed in monstabert in Loire Valley as our first stop off for 3 nights and to be honest this was plenty, there was not a great deal to see around the area, the local towns and villages are like ghost towns with no activity from the locals. The campsite was lovely but the hedged in camping areas although seemed like a great idea, prevented socialising and being able to watch the children. The pool was nice (a little cold).
Les Bois de bardelet in Loire (east) we stayed here for 4 nights. This was great, I wish we had stayed here longer. All the services we needed were on sight, the shop was well stocked, staff spoke good english, facilities were clean. The indoor and outdoor pools were great. This sight I would definitely go back to. Big thumbs up!
My best advice is if you have children take walky talkies - they work a treat.

We hired one of the on-site statics ('cottage 2 people') for 4 nights.
The accommodation was excellent and spotlessly clean. As we had on-suite facilities we had no cause to use the site's toilet or wash facilities so can't comment.
The site had a lovely heated pool. The pitches were spacious and private with small well kept hedges to separate units. The campsite is located near it’s own chateaux although this was closed during our visit. There are some lovely walks in very close proximity to the site (loads of maps in reception) and would recommend a late evening stroll.
Would also recommend the cycling although bikes could be rented from the park we rented bikes in nearby Gennes instead and cycled to the lovely Saumur, via the loire cycle path
All in all this was one of the nicest campsites we have visited although one small criticism is that the bar only opened at 6:30pm and closed at 9:30pm. This wasn't a real issue but I think had we stayed longer it would have been nice to have the choice.

We stayed here for 4 nights with our tent. The facilities were very clean, the pool and bar area is very pleasant and the owner charming - the site also felt very safe.
It looks as if there have been more mobile homes installed in the past couple of years. There is a small village with a convenience store in walking distance but otherwise you have to drive to get to the interesting sights of which there are an abundance!
I would certainly go back again but would take earplugs to reduce the noise of the peacocks from the château next door!

We stayed here for 2 weeks in Aug 2009. We booked direct with the owners and stayed in one of their static mobile homes. It is one of the best sites we have stayed in - well maintained, helpful staff, beautiful location, excellent facilities and lovely pool area. The owners were so helpful and the pitches large and grassy.
The shop on site is small and I would only use for essentials and emergencies as it was quite expensive but you could order fresh bread every day. We didn't use the take away much and the bar area was lovely and and backed onto the pool although there wasn't a large choice of drinks, mainly beer wine and when my husband asked for a vodka and lemonade the young girl serving seemed at a loss!
The campsite has a peaceful relaxed feel but our children of 9 and 6 enjoyed everything about it and we felt they could have lots of freedom. The site was quiet after about 11pm and the entertainment was centered around the bar area which had themed evenings and a small disco for the children. Our kids especially loved Eric and the team performing the end of season Chocolataay song. We enjoyed it so much we have booked to go again in Aug 2010 - this time taking our own tent and I'm sure we will have a fantastic time!

What can I say that hasn't been said already. This site was superb. The children one of eleven and twins of seven really did enjoy the two weeks we stayed here. I think their bikes were permanently attached to them from the time they got up until bed and they made many friends.
The site was spotless and the pool great (warm!). Even though the pool does not have slides apart from one small one on the toddlers pool, this certainly did not deter the kids having a fab time.
The site felt very safe and the staff were brilliant. Everyone really did contribute to the holiday atmosphere. We would recommend this site to anyone.

Ten out of ten! The staff could not have been more helpful, especially as I broke my leg just ten minutes after arriving. They all spoke English and helped organise hospitals, laboratories etc as well as chase up documents for insurance purposes. Although I would not recommend breaking a leg while in a caravan on holiday, this was a truly peaceful site to stay on.
Our pitch (151) was perfect for us. It was surrounded by hedging and overlooked the wheat and sunflower fields with a view of the village in the distance. We also enjoyed welcomed shade from the trees. In the evenings we were treated to the sight of hot air balloons floating by as the crickets began their evening chorus. Owls hooted at night and the peacocks called in the mornings but we were grateful that they never called too close to our pitch as their sound could have been very annoying. Our pitch was well away from the pool and the playground so was peaceful all day but at 10.30 total peace reigned over every pitch.
Most residents were Dutch or French with a sprinkling of British. We didn’t use the facilities – too far to hop on one leg, but they seemed spotless. My husband noticed the cleaner was cleaning the windows and even cleaned inside the rebate.
Benoit in the office and Eric the owner deserve special mention for their helpfulness and hospitality.
The surrounding area is beautiful with fields of sunflowers and vineyards set in gentle rolling countryside and small attractive villages. Because of my accident we didn’t get to explore very much so I think we shall be going back! I highly recommend this site for children and older couples.
