What a fantastic time we all had. We were a group of 2 tents and one caravan with a mixed age group.
Very basic site, 1 shower, 1 male toilet and 1 female toilet, this room could do with some work doing to it but works ok. The owners where very friendly, the site was clean.
The site is situated within easy walking distance to the pub in Redmire.

The facilities aren't great (still Clean & always loo roll), but you get what you pay for, you are not getting ripped off at £20/£25+ a night. The site is situated within easy walking distance to the pub in redmire. Great base for top end of the Dales, eg Leyburn, West Burton Aysgarth Falls, Hawes, Bolton Abbey. We have 2 kids & have stayed on swan farm on about 10 occasions and we will keep going back. Ok! agreed it is basic, but if you want 5* go in a Hotel.

Ok, we like basic campsites (a bog and a tap in a field, sort of thing) and have stayed on several farm campsites but Swan Farm isn't one that we would go back to. The people who run the site were very friendly but the site is set at the back of the farm yard, behind a cluster of buildings that aren't attractive to look at
It cost us £7.50 for a campervan pitch and £2.50 for elec. Hook-up (Aug. 2008). The toilet and shower block contained two toilet cubicles and one shower cubicle. The shower was poor. It costs 50p to have a shower and the water pressure is low and goes off altogether if somebody turns a tap on at the sink. It was difficult to get a decent water temperature for the shower and if you adjust it too far up the range, the water becomes scalding hot (and I mean scalding!)
Worse thing about the place though was people (from the same farm I think?) racing clapped out old cars in the field next to the site for several hours on a Saturday evening. They didn't stop till 10pm, so no peace and quiet that night, what a racket it made!
