A wonderful friendly clean site, with great hosts. Toilet (even had toilet paper !), and shower were spotless. Great views, and close to lots of walks and a great bird of prey centre.
We bought some fresh eggs for breakfast. Great that there isn't a big list of rules, as the hosts seem very trustworthy.
The local pub, a short walk away looked lovely with a great menu, would like to try it when we will definitely return. Thank you.

Wonderful- just wonderful. Just spent a bank holiday weekend here with 2 kids aged 8 and 3. It was fantastic. The site was really well kept with stunning views.
Set on a working farm, it was great for the kids to feed the lambs, chase the chickens and watch the cows! The field is also wonderful for them playing games, and generally running around as they do!
Lots to do around the area too- from abbeys and grand houses, to a wonderful play park within walking distance, and some lovely friendly local pubs! The owning family are really helpful, but unobtrusive- and the freshly laid eggs are amazing. EHU well situated and showers and loos spotless.
Would give value for money 12/10if we could! We didn't want to come home and we will definitely be back!

A fantastic little CL site, on a friendly farm location, - peaceful site and great location ideal for exploring coastal locations like whitby and Scarborough along with more central locations like wensleydale, ripon and the Yorkshire dales. Also York is only 20 miles away with the minster and the railway museum.
The site it well maintained and the grass is kept short, the shower and wash up facilities are clean and tidy, an ideal site for those with dogs ( we were the only people on the site without a dog ! )
We stayed for a week and only have positive things to say about this site- we will go back
Thirsk is local ( 7 miles away) and has all the shops you could need- also supermarkets/ bars/ takeaways and the likes, - several award winning butchers shops for the meat you'll need to sit back on the site, have a barbecue and take in the amazing views of sutton bank and the white horse. A great little site

This is a lovely CS on a working farm, an idyllic location especially if the weather is nice, but unfortunately for us it wasn't. Although the stone wall and hedging offer some shelter when the wind was gusting down from the hills it was relentless.
The owners are both lovely people, we were greeted on arrival, shown where the facilities are and told we could pitch anywhere as we were the only booking (everyone else had obviously seen the weather forecast!)
After we spent the second night in the car due to the wind we were offered a hot cuppa, and when we decided to go home we were given a refund for the rest of our stay which we hadn't asked for or expected - how nice!
The toilet, shower and wash-up facilities may not be the newest but they are the cleanest and best looked after than any other CS we have visited.
The camping field is lovely and green, it drained well given the amount of rain we had, there are stony parts though so rock pegs recommended.
We would definitely return here :)

My husband had passed this lovely CS site & we tracked it down via C&C website. We are so glad we did. Mr & Mrs Burn made us feel so welcome and gave us some ideas of what to do as we were unfamiliar to the area.
We were so lucky with the glorious weather and enjoyed the spectacular views from above the white horse along with watching the gliders from the yorkshire gliding club soar above us.
Our hosts advised us where the best place to park was and we enjoyed a picnic lunch before attempting the 151 step climb. Our two young sons loved the animals on the working farm site.
The site was clean and tidy with picnic tables for everyone to use. Just down the road was bylands abbey where you could see the ruins. The facilities were very clean and met our needs.
We didn't visit any public houses or have the need to go shopping so can't comment on this. We will definitely visit again as we all enjoyed a lovely relaxed weekend plus Mrs Burn's homemade apple pies were delicious.

We have just returned from a long weekend here, despite a poor weather forecast ( Hurricane Katia) it was packed - 3 tents, 2 Motorhomes and 4 caravans incl. us.
Plenty of room, the toilet, shower and washing up area were clean and adequate - no queueing. The owners were extremely friendly & helpful.
Reasonably sheltered, we didn't put our porch awning up and the only one up was taken down due to flapping about.
We didn't use the local pub but I am told that it was fine with another plus point of free wifi.
For anyone wanting a nice quiet site with EHU, toilet & shower this is it.

Just returned from a week long stay at Brenk House Farm. Camping field is undulating grass, easy to establish a level and well maintained. Borders the farm house garden, separated by a stone wall and trees which provided a welcome windbreak during a few days of near gale force winds.
Electric hook ups easily accessible. A couple of picnic benches provided which would be useful in better weather. Lots of rain whilst we stayed so did get a bit muddy around awning entrance but drainage was good.
Chemical and grey water disposal was a manhole cover lifted by a length of rope to access sewers. Hose adjacent for rinsing but it did tend to spray water everywhere. Single toilet and one shower which were basic but clean with plenty of toilet rolls, soap and towel but only cold water to basin.
Shower basin was partially blocked but was dealt with quickly when reported. Pot wash outside shower with sink/dreaner and electric water heater. Leaflets for local attractions and emergency contact details also located here.
This is a working farm with sheep, cattle and chickens in close proximity in neighbouring fields - chickens were regular scavengers around the camping field. This added to the rural appeal of the site. Owner pointed out facilities on arrival and took payment but otherwise left us to get on with things - just how we like it.
Ate one evening at the Fauconberg Arms in Coxwold which is a friendly pub / B & B offering good standard food ranging from haddock & chips at £10 to rack of lamb with vegs at £17.
Interesting ruin at Byland Abbey and Ampleforth also worth a visit. Beautiful scenery around the southern moors with Rosedale and Hutton le Hole worth a special mention. Thriving market at Kirbymoorise on Wednesdays. The site is well placed for visiting Pickering (the Moors Railway), Whitby, Scarborough, Malton, York, Thirsk and Northallerton with a bus link passing the farm entrance.
Paid £10 per night with hook-up which was excellent value when compared with the £22 per night we recently paid at a full CCC site. We will be happy to return to this peaceful site in the future.

We have visited this Camping and Caravanning Club CS several times. The site is located on a working farm with stunning views from your pitch. Ideal location for walking cycling or just chilling.
The site is close to Bylands Abbey an english herritage property. Also there is a beautiful church in the village.
The owners are a very nice couple and keep the site very neat and tidy.
There electric hookup available a shower and toilet, even a pot washing area and a very good information areas.
Easingwold and Helmsley are all within easy reach from this wonderful little site.

Booked in for 10 days to use as a base to explore North Yorkshire for our main summer break.
Arrived on site and greeted by friendly owner who showed us the facilities. Free to pitch where we wanted.
Location of site was fantastic - great views of surrounding countryside and Byland Abbey (which was lit up at night). Tip - we joined the English Heritage on day 2 of our holiday - there are so many castles and abbeys to see and explore - we got our money back ten times over.
Facilities on site are basic and minimal - one toilet and one shower. These were kept clean (daily), although during busy periods did cause a problem. We ended up using the shower in our caravan.
Kids really enjoyed themselves, plenty of room to play and ride their bikes. Ideally situated to explore the surrounding area. Byland Abbey (about 1 mile up the road) was a great place to explore and play hide and seek with the kids.
For £10 a night, including EHU, for 2 adults, 3 kids and a dog was an absolute bargain and well worth it. If there were a couple of toilets then this site would be fantastic.
Would definitely go back.

Just returned from a lovely 2 night stay at this site.
A small site at the back of a working farm, it felt like you were camping in the farmers garden. Fairly level site with 6 hook ups, but only taking 5 vans at a time, and the rest of the space for tents.
I was the only tent user there, and 5 other vans, all of which were very friendly.
One toilet and one shower in the outbuidings for the site, but they were never busy, and enough for the size of the site.
Only thing that was a bit awkward - and nothing to do with the campsite - was the main road didn't seem to have a footpath. I was going to walk up to Byland Abbey with the kids, but felt the road was a bit busy to walk with 4 of them, would have been easier if the grass verges had been cut.
But had a lovely quiet break, on a great site with fantastic views. Couldn't have got a better price at £8 per night for all five of us, £10 if we wanted EHU. I will go back, and recommend to anyone.
