Huttopia Versailles is excellent for quick and easy access to the Palace of Versailles and the sights of Paris. End of the good stuff. It is incredibly expensive for what it is. A very average campsite. The pitches are small, mostly uneven and very unsuitable for medium sized caravans and larger ( beware your clutch ). Good shower blocks but in all only 12 shower cubicles for the whole site which is mostly tents and small campervans, so the showers are in big demand. No waterpoints except the one campervan drainage/waterpoint. An open to the sky chemical disposal point with no flush. A small snack bar with a menu that is 80 per cent pizzas. Expensive drinks. Over 5 pounds for a pint of beer. A tiny pool for a largish campsite. Noisy at night from trains nearby. No Wifi except at the bar. We booked a pitch for 3 nights all paid in advance ( 146 Euros ) and we were shown an atrocious pitch. Take it or leave it. We demanded another pitch which was found but with no spare electric hook-ups. The nearest one was too far for my 25 metre cable. We asked to borrow an extension from the office which was provided against surrender of passport. Turned out to be a domestic cable, so no good anyway. There are very few campsites in or near Versailles/Paris. So that’s why you get what you get. PS don’t try to use the A86 motorway as it’s limited to vehicles under 2 metres.

This is the WORST site I have stayed at. We booked in for 10 days but left after 7. There was only one shower block open, the others open in August and not a drop of hot water, we turned up at 6am cold, 10pm cold, we were warned by an English couple camped opposite who were also leaving early.
A slippy mud bath when it rains, small difficult to manoeuvre pitches, full of pot holes and tree roots, awful to level we had to use large stones, extra blocks not available. You will need solar lights for the outside of your van and a strong torch to find your way to and from the toilet block. The take away from the café is awful, small portions large price, the pizza was so poor we photographed it and showed it around to the other English couples. DON'T GO to this site unless you like being ripped off.

Stayed here for 5 nights. The site is in a corner of the Forest of Versailles and the pitches are among the trees. The ground is uneven because of tree roots. We had no trouble getting the van level but very large units might have more of a problem. The staff were all friendly and helpful. The washrooms were modern and regularly cleaned. There is no children's play area on site but a very good one just outside in the woods. Wifi is free but only available around the bar/restaurant and in reception where there is also a computer freely available for guests to use. Bread and croissants are available from 8am if ordered the night before. The site is really well situated only 10 minutes walk away from the Paris train and 15 from the bus to Versailles. We used an ACSI card so it only cost 18 euros a night plus local tax. We will definitely use the site again when staying near Paris.

We loved this campsite. Excellent pitches which came with picnic bench. Great town within walking distance. Bar, playroom, pizzeria, swimming pool, bike hire all on site. 20 minute train journey into centre of Paris (Eiffel Tower). Versailles 10 minutes away. Would love to go back. We were made very welcome.

Like most visitors, I spent just 3 days on the site in a tent with my family.
The site is situated brilliantly for access to Paris (20 mins by train) and Versailles (walk, bus or cycle).
The site is nestled in a woodland area, and is very attractive.
The service was nothing special.
The pitches in the area we were allocated were hardly marked out at all; although the map showed twelve distinct pitches (C1 to C12) in fact it was a free-for-all. Also the area was not very flat.
The pool is quite small and quite cold.
The toilet and shower blocks were by far the most attractive and clean I have come across on any campsite. However, they were not great to use; no plugs in any of the basins (even washing up basins). The showers were awful when anyone else was using the block; water temperature varied from scorching to freezing depending on what else was happening at the time and the water was a dribble. Also, frequent queues for both toilets and showers.
Rather expensive, but I guess you're paying for the location.
The site could be quite noisy at night; not from other campers but from the town, the railway and the forest wildlife.
It is just a few minutes walk from the town of Versailles where there are plenty of shops and cafes. There is a small cafe/bar on site which is adequate if rather pricy.

Stayed for 3 nights as part of a tour round France. We wanted to see Paris, and although this site is expensive, staying anywhere near Paris is going to cost a bit. The location couldn't have been better. It is a few minutes walk to the train station, with the trains taking you direct to the Eiffel Tower, Notre Dame, Versailles and many other central Paris locations. The reception staff will even organise tickets for you.
There is no shop on site, but there is a convenience store and a small supermarket a few minutes walk away, which provided a much better service at more reasonable prices than most campsite shops.
I only have two small criticisms. One is that you have to buy a pass in order to use Wifi, but that is only available when reception is open. Easy enough to get round once you know how, but don't expect to just be able to saunter down the bar, pay and use Wifi in the evening.
Second criticism would be the pitch sizes. We paid for an extra large pitch, but it still only just fitted our 8 man tunnel tent, with a bit of room to sit out. Fortunately in June the site was half empty and we just spread out into neighbouring pitches, but it would feel very cramped if it was full.
Still, you can't beat it for discovering Paris.

We wanted to take our children to Paris and we have recently acquired a Campervan, so Huttopia Versailles was the perfect solution for us.
The location is brilliant - in the woods, but right next door to the very French suburban streets. It was a short walk to the local shops - boulangerie, banks, small supermarket and street market. As suggested, we caught the train to Paris from Porchefontaine station, which was also a short walk away and a very straightforward journey.
The campsite was less than half full so only two of the shower / toilet blocks were open. The showers were fine, and there were plenty of washbasins. The loos were a bit disappointing though, opening straight off the path around the shower block, so were cold and dark in the evenings and there was no distinction between ladies and gents. I didn't see much evidence of them being cleaned.
We didn't use the pool as the weather was too cold. We had a larger pitch which was attractive, pretty level and included a useful picnic table. Our children loved biking around the campsite.
We biked up to the Palace of Versailles (but didn't go in) along the wide cycle path adjacent to Avenue de Paris. I would have liked to have had more time to explore the town of Versailles itself which looked lovely when we drove through.
All in all, a good mixture of chic city life and back to nature camping.

Just returned from a 4 night stay at this site, 2 adults and 2 children aged 4 and 7, and we weren't disappointed.
The first pitch suggested to us was too small for our tent- as mentioned previously it's in a woodland so plenty of trees 'in the way'!
So we found a bigger area (at extra cost, & it's not cheap to start with) which the staff were happy for us to do. Hook ups for all but some did look rather tatty.
The terrain was very hard & a bit stony- lots of discarded bent pegs on the ground so go prepared, also uneven in places. Once settled though we could appreciate the lovely forest setting & nice touches like logs to use for little stools & tables.
The toilet and shower block were kept clean and always plenty of hot water. Nice decor.
The play area was a bit basic and our children soon tired of it. Pool was nice though, attractively decked to fit with the woodland setting. A bit chilly for my liking but the children were happy enough & there's a lovely shallow area for babies & toddlers.
Being able to order breakfast pastries & bread the night before was a nice touch & came freshly delivered from the local boulangerie, same price as from the shop itself.
Bar / restaurant/ communal area had a nice atmosphere & a good mix of nationalities. This is helped by friendly staff. Had pizzas one night, not cheap for food or drink but good quality.
Last but not least the location is great, a 10 min walk to the station (passing a well stocked Carrefour Cite) and 20 mins to the Eiffel tower. Fab!
Lovely to retreat to our forest suburb at night!
One stop in the other direction, just a couple of mins & you're at Versailles. It's free to wander the gardens on most days.
All in all a good, well placed campsite.

We are a family of four with youngish children and stayed at this campsite for two nights in July 12 to visit Versailles having come from the ferry that day.
We found it very difficult to find. Driving round the Paris ring road with a campervan was difficult and a bit scary as on the Versailles side there are height restrictions and we had to turn off the main road but kept getting directed back on by road signs and sat nav and just generally got pretty lost.
We ordered food from the restaurant when we arrived. They didn't have much left at all. I had to order hamburgers for the kids even though they don't like them, as that is all they had other than steak. It took absolutely ages to come to the point the kids were screaming, literally.
This is definitely a well branded site! I think the 'green and outdoorsy' brand actually is just a way of turning a really quite poor bit of land totally unsuitable for camping into a rustic and therefore trendy place to stay. Some of the pitches were better than ours, but actually on our pitch we struggled to find more than 1mX1m that wasn't occupied by tree roots or trees.
The pool was absolutely freezing and nobody could stay in it for more than 5 mins.
The children's play area featured one piece of equipment far too old for my 2 year old and our 6 year old was bored within 5 mins as it wasn't that great.
We didn't use the shower facilities very much as we were at the start of our holiday (!) and didn't stay here that long. They looked fine.
On the plus side the whole area around is lovely. It is too far to walk to Versailles but very cyclable (with a good and safe cycle path most of the way) and the bus was brilliant - very frequent. There is a train station well within walking distance of the site which I think would take you into central Paris quite quickly.
I would definitely stay here again even though the facilities and service were not that great and the pitches were poor because it is such a nice area and it is a friendly site.

Very very overpriced, shockingly expensive, even allowing for it's location.
Pitches were a reasonable size but packed in.
Showers were in short supply and not as clean as I would have liked and were not gender specific, which I found disconcerting, but maybe I'm just too British!. The toilets did not have loo paper, which was the least that could have been provided given the cost of the site.
No on site shop.
Staff spoke good English and were helpful. Convenient for central Paris but trains could be heard in the evening.
