Have been to Tan Hill twice recently, once in July and again in August. Both times, we had a great stay. The first stay, there was two stag parties happening, so the atmosphere was lively and great fun. The 2nd time, there was a wedding, so it was similarly busy. As always, a warm welcome, great food and drink and usually some good entertainment too.
They now have a shower in a porta-cabin, so you can get refreshed a bit better than in the past.
Charges remain low, making it a cheap place to get away.

We have just spent one night at the Tan Hill Inn staying in our motorhome. Very basic but the views were priceless. The pub was nice and warm and very friendly with an open fire. Food was provided in the evenings and looked very nice. The landlady was classic and its worth the visit just to meet Tracey. There were 2 motorhomes staying and all the B&B rooms were booked. Would prefer paying a little more if there was access to electricity. We were able to fill up with water from the toilet sinks. Plenty of sheep roaming around so be careful if you have dogs. The drive from Hawes via Keld was a little scary and but views breathtaking! Glad I wasn't driving.
There was 2 porta toilets but we didn't use them as we used the pub's facilities. Would definitely recommend a visit just to say you have visited the highest pub in Great Britain.

Second visit to this excellent place, this time in a camper. Facilities are basic with just a tap and toilet, but the surroundings are superb and the pub is one of the bast around. Staff are great and create a relaxed and fun atmosphere. Food and drink in the pub are fab. Entertainment's good. Find a spot to park or pitch and stick a few quid in the charity bucket and you can stay the night. No hassle.

Spent one night at the Tan Hill and it is a fantastic place. A charity donation is requested for payment for the campsite, which is a stretch of moorland behind the pub, with fantastic views over the Pennines/Dales. It's on the Pennine Way and, as well as the campsite, has barn accommodation and hotel rooms. The pub is excellent, with home brewed beer on tap, friendly owners and good grub! Regular live music in the bar.
Great place - will be back!

Its bleak and remote but well worth a visit. The pub is warm and cosy and they sell good food, there was a band on in the evening and you just roll up and put £2 each in the charity bottle on the bar to camp. How easy is that find a spot and use it. We parked in a spot with some more motorhomes, not suitable for caravans mainly tents. They sell their own beer and you get a warm and friendly welcome, going back this year.
