The location is spectacular. The dinner in the Inn was quite good. Those are the reasons to go to the site.
But there are only very basic facilities for staying overnight with a motorhome. Just some, not level parking places at the side of the Inn.
One shower and toilet in a small, not ventilated, soaking wet room which was also used by camping quests, staying in tents behind the Inn.
Two days before we arrived we made a request through UKCampsite for a place for our motorhome. Tan Hill did not respond. We parked our motorhome at the side of the road about 150m from the Inn.

Award winning home made food but you have to pre book tables and cant just pop into the pub for meal as and when you are hungry you have to plan it and you need to pre book a breakfast the day before but that wont stop us going back though
A warm welcome awaits all great atmosphere and some really nice real ales

Worst campsite on the Pennine Way. This costs nearly twice as much as other sites on the route. What do you get for your £10 per tent, per night? The opportunity to choose your own bit of rough, unkempt and uneven moorland.
There is only one toilet which is also the shower. When you are there with two dozen DofE participants along with other campers in Campervans it is totally inadequate. In the morning it was in a disgusting condition and the toilet was blocked.
The toilets in the pub were not much better. At 9:30 p. M. There was zero toilet paper available and by 08:30 a. M. This still hadn't been sorted.
Finally there is no real governance over the camping area despite all sorts of "conditions" in the booking process such as No Personal Alcohol. This is evidenced by the smell of Cannabis wafting over the site for most of the afternoon and evening.

Visited for one night, charge for a night is £5 per person, we were expecting it to be wild and windy but we were lucky that it was not, quiet night and slept well
Looked after very well by Danni in the bar and ate there in the evening, it’s not cheap and drinks expensive too but good meal. We booked for a full English breakfast for the following morning the charge for breakfast is £9. 95, juice and tea or coffee, nice to see a cafetière of decent coffee, a good breakfast and plenty of bread available for toast. Understandable prices since it is in the middle of nowhere.
The toilet and shower are in one room which is situated at the side of the building, decent shower and it’s free. Stunning scenery for miles around, well worth a visit.
Would definitely go again

Stayed for one night, a memorable but unenjoyable visit. I liked the pubs ambience but the good weather meant the place was packed with bikers, camper vans and touring cyclists.
The queues to be served were awful. Some of the bar-staff weren't capable of using a simple push button till properly, or giving you a full pint. Also tourist weary attitude, did not feel at all welcome!
Campsite is extremely basic with no clear pitches, a single toilet/shower. No pan-wash or outside tap? This to serve approx 20 camping in tents and about 40 in camper vans.
Was also woken by drunken biker wanting to fight the world, and constant chirping of birds right through the night. At 4am two of my fellow residents sat on the nearby tor happily enjoying sunrise and putting the world to rights. Paid for 2 nights but left after one, would not stay here again.

Been here a few times over the years in the car so it was on our 'to visit' list in the motorhome.
An interesting drive from Reeth with no problems saw us arrive early evening to rain and a cold strong wind but once inside we had our famous Tan Hill warm welcome.
The food was good, the ale was good and the company was good. Don't know what it is with this pub but everybody always seems so happy.
I would recommend anybody to visit at least once for a night, you never know what's going to happen or turn up. I'll be back

Location
Site is part of Britain's highest pub - at 1700ft in bleak Pennine moorland. A brilliant place to get away from it all.
Facilities
A brilliant pub with an excellent atmosphere.
Camping facilities are very basic but all part of the experience!

Took a trip up here for one night stay. Really thick fog and wind and rain, it was brilliant (honest it was). Pub nice and cosy, with a good menu available, and staff were friendly and obliging. Don't forget there is NO hook ups here ! I don't need one so no probs for me. Really enjoyed the stay on the moors in the middle of nowhere. Great, will be calling back before long. Ps, £9 per night for van and 2 adults which I think is not bad.
