We had an amazing holiday at this campsite. In a quieter part of the beautiful Isle of Anglesea yet within easy reach of any part of the island.
We enjoyed a ringside seat for daily Jet displays from RAF Valley and discovered so many different clean beaches with very few people on them! We had lovely weather and had some very good local shops and a very good Fish and Chip shop in the next village.
There is loads to do and see. We will be back. Thankyou to Geoff and Catherine (Site Owners) and Anglesea locals for a pretty special 5 days! Denise and Richard from Salisbury

This is an adult only site and is peaceful, apart from the noise of jets from the nearby RAF airfield, which to many are interesting, and do not disturb the evenings.
The owners Catherine & Geoff, are very helpful and pleasant. There is a new facility adjacent to the CL Site which is a very smart small toilet building. It has two toilets with sinks fully tiled, and also a wash up sink and washer.
The site has seasonal pitches so at our visit there were not many guests to use the only single shower which is in a metal porta cabin the only other toilets(2) are in wooden cabins which are a little care worn.
They are all kept very clean. The pitches are very large hard standing and level. The grass is really well kept, and the site is extremely tidy.
Will be using this site again.

We used this site as a stopover from ferry from Dublin.
We were on the main touring site, not the CL.
Pitches are all service pitches with water, electric and waste disposal, and are very spacious. The site is immaculately maintained.
Although there are toilets, these are very dated, and it seems you are encouraged to use your own on-board facilities.
For me the old toilets and other old buildings detract from a beautiful site. If they were screened it would be so much better.
Accepting it was high season, I still think the nightly charge is high where you use your own facilities, and
For this reason we are unlikely to return.

Spent a week at this lovely site. Had planned to move on but didn't bother. Site beautifully spaced out and really well kept.
Although full over the weekend it was lovely and quiet. Facilities are really clean. Homemade jam and free range eggs available.
RAF Valley really close so some daytime noise but embrace your very own air show. Lovely deserted beaches really close by. Catherine and Geoff are really friendly.
Thanks for a lovely stay.

Just come back from a 5 night stay at the pen y Llyn site! A last minute choice because it had 10amp hookups didn't know what to expect!
We stayed on the CL side which was a fully serviced pitch not overlooking any other vans, we were greated by the owner on arrival and given a comprehensive information pack also loaned a length of waste pipe to enable us to pipe grey water into drain direct.
The toilets were situated in small sheds but had everything you needed and more also very clean!
The site is ideally situated if you are a aeroplane enthusiast of which I am RAF Valley is just down the road so expect noise on weekdays I loved it, they were night flying the week we stayed even better! The beach is not that far away we took our bikes but you can drive down but the road is bumpy! Didn't know what to expect when we booked all I can say is we will be back!

Just spent a week at this great site the second time this year if you like jet planes this is the perfect place for you. The owners Geoff and Catherine are just great and very helpful, easy site to find and it is a good base for exploring the island of angelsey and beyond. The only downside is that you have too come home at some point.

Pen-y-Llyn has two sites – a 5 pitch CL and a more commercial site with 15 pitches. The two are quite separate apart from sharing the access road into the sites. This review relates to the CL but can be equally applied to the larger site.
All pitches are well maintained & wide/deep stone hardstandings with power & water points at each location. The grassed areas were well maintained and there was a welcome secure dog walking area to allow the hounds to run free.
As others have said, the beach is about a 20 minute walk away but then you have a wide sandy shoreline all the way to Rhosneigr where there are shops & hostelries. It is also a “dog friendly” beach. One thing to be aware of [& we should have read Catherine’s welcome pack!] is that there is a creek running across the beach near Rhosneigr which needs to be forded! So be prepared to get wet feet!
The closeness to RAF Valley does mean that there is quite a bit of aircraft noise during the weekdays with the planes doing circuits. This could be a bit intrusive if you were on site all during the day but we were away for most of our time there and they don’t fly at weekends.
Overall, a lovely CL with caring & approachable owners who ensure that you have a pleasant stay.

Spent six nights here in July and can highly reccomend this site. The co owner Catherine is lovely. Very helpful and made a big fuss of our Westie and his friend also a Westie who was away with us.
She has made a bold decision not to pack too many pitches in in favour of giving each pitch lots of room and a good view.
It is very nice having hookup water and waste on your own pitch and while you might pay a premium we thought it worth it.
The site is kept spick and span and you can see the planting going on which when mature will add to its charm.
Being honest the wifi was poor while we were there but we were on holiday so not the end of the world.
Beach for someone slow walking like me about half an hour walk or on our electric cycles towing the dogs about five minutes.
Cymran Hotel few minutes walk up the road does decent food with somewhat slipshod service.
All in all lovely people running a lovely site.
Being an aircraft fan I loved its proximity to RAF Valley
Showers would be nice but a massive investment to make for a small site like this. Loved our stay.

We spent 5 nights here this summer and the site is beautifully maintained, not many pitches but plenty of space. It was very windy and we had some trouble getting pegs on awning to stay in. There was only 2 toilets and no shower so need to be independent. Owners were very helpful when I felt unwell, offering medication or assistance. We were on adult only part of site so no facilities for children as expected. Owners provide pack of information on arrival and suggested local hotel for meals, which was very helpful. Would go again.

Just spent along weekend, very impressed, very generous pitches the owner Caroline was lovely very helpful. Our pitch faced away from the views but Caroline suggested turning the van around so we had sea views Amazing! The site is neat tidy and nicely laid out, the only thing I would add are Showers, The location is perfect, you can walk down the lane, which is quiet busy to the hotel for a drink or meal I'm told it's dog friendly but didn't try it. We walked to the beach, which takes around 20 mins or you can drive and park near the RAF base or sand dunes, the beach is lovely and dog friendly Brilliant. Best of all was the Jets WOW when they take off the noise is Amazing, if you park up at the RAF base crash barriers what a view point you have them fly over your head. To sum up lovely quiet Adult only site, great location and very friendly helpful owners. Will definitely return.
