 We were a group of 4, two in the campervan, two in a tent.
The site is in a wonderful location, but we made the mistake of going on the second day of factory fortnight so it was bound to be busy! The location made up for it however, and the weather was marvellous.
We tried to pay several times but there was no answer at the farm house so we just posted our £3 per person through the door!
The site is wonderful, plenty of walks, the lovely river gurgling past, and a back to basics lifestyle. We will definitely be back several times, lets just hope the insane dog owners are gone by then!

We spent the Easter weekend at the site and it proved ideal for us the pitches were £5 for a caravan and £3 for a tent and they even allow camp fires (this was our first time out with a caravan). As their website says the sites only amenity is a tap near the farm house there are no EHU or toilet disposal points.
Great location next to the river although due to heavy rain the riverside pitches did get a bit boggy, plenty of places to go nearby if your into walking or cycling.
The nearest decent sized town is probably Kirkby Stephen about 8 miles away which has a reasonable Co-op supermarket, various banks, a post office and other useful shops. The nearest public toilets are at Keld about 1.5 miles away and they were well kept
