Lovely basic site. Breeze block toilet and shower block, always clean.

Lots of great walks from the site and a huge grassy area for kids to play on. £10 with no electric is a good price.

Will be back with the grandkids.

For the price this is brilliant. Facilities are basic but standard good for how basic they are. I almost prefer how basic it is rather than somewhere that’s old/not clean. The showers were very hot.

Love the location and views beautiful. Just right for groups of families to get together and hang out or access the Peak District area.

We received excellent customer service too from the farm.

Don't be put off by the other reviews - once there, this is a great site. It all looks a bit rough and ready, but in fact is one of the better sites I have stayed on this summer (have stayed on seven different sites in different parts of the country since april 2014)

Steep hill, and the a sharp turn, to get up to the farm entrance, but it is a quiet lane so no problems even in my 40yr old VW bus.

The field is a bit sloping so you need to plan your pitch carefully, plenty of room for everyone and space to run around. There were a few large groups of people/tents but all were quiet at night. Outstanding views across to Crich.

The shower/toilet facilities were in a block built shed which did not look inviting, (a bit of white paint would transform them) but were, in actuality, well laid out, clean and kept stocked with paper. The separate showers needed a token, but the 50p it cost lasted for ages.

Plenty of hot water available within the toilets for washing, and there was a washing up area with two sinks that also had hot water - not something that many of the other sites I have stayed on have had.

We stayed for 4 nights, never had to queue/wait for facilities - would have stayed longer if we had the time and will go back when we visit the area again.

Fantastic value for money. Owners very helpful/friendly but only when you needed them.

Great field although a bit sloping, great views, very quiet. Facilities a bit lacking, urinal smelt a bit, didn't fancy the showers, but this is an ok site when passing through. After cycling here through Derbyshire going uphill all the way, the last 2 miles to the site were downhill, losing all the height. Went to the Derwent Inn (downhill) a couple of miles away on the A6. No food after 4 on sundays, no customers either except us. It's a pity that we were too tired to cycle uphill (1 in 4!) to The Bear Inn at Alderwasley, where there is plenty of food and beer.

Spent a weekend here a week ago and I must say I had a pleasant stay, the facilities are basic but adequate and the toilets are cleaned each night.

The site owners are lovely and did as much as they could to help us out, although there is a list of rules they are fair to keep the site nice and clean such as if you want a fire it must be on a tray or something so it doesn't scorch the grass.

There are lots of local pubs and also attractions for children such as Gullivers Kingdom theme park 2 miles down the road into Matlock. Apart from that it's just a lovely quiet site with absolutely gorgeous views and low prices.

Spent a Saturday night here because we were interested in this area and couldn't get onto another campsite - all booked up. The site has one camping field which is mostly sloping but the ground is good for getting pegs in. Cost is low - £4 for small tent, £1 per person and £1 for the car - but facilities are basic. It is handy for local walks and has a good view. The downside is that despite a list of rules, posted in the toilet block, we had to put up with three groups of revellers, drinking, congregating in the toilet block, playing car stereos, shouting and swearing until the early hours of the morning. The upside was that the toilets were cleaned in the evening that we were there (although they were a complete mess in the morning) and the gate to the field was locked at night.
