Hankin Farm is lovely! We had a wonderful time although we unknowingly parked next to the campsite yobbos (there's always one!).
The staff are friendly and welcoming and the showers and toilets are well looked after.
Big shout out to Chris as well who has sorted us a free night due to the rowdy neighbours, will definitely come back again!
I highly recommend this campsite as the views are tremendous and is located just above a lovely village.
The prices are also really good and you are able to have a firepit which is a bonus!

Great location and really good value for money at only £10 per night.
I received a friendly welcome. Huge field with loads of room and you can pitch where you want. Basic facilities but clean. Always had toilet roll and soap in the loos and the pot wash had washing up liquid and sponges. Water was hot too.
Took the dog camping here and had a few lovely relaxing days.
Great base for exploring the Derbyshire countryside. I walked into Matlock down the canal path (took about an hour) and got the train back. Steep walk, up hill, into Crich but 2 great pubs. If you`ve never been to Crich check out Crich Tramway Village as it`s a must visit. I went a few years ago and it was superb, A really nice day out.
The Cliff Inn pub in particular was superb. A good old fashioned boozer. I will be back.

It’s a great countryside location.
Public footpaths lead straight from the site - we had two lovely walks, taking in rolling countryside, ancient woodland and grasslands, and fab views.
The site is sloping, making it difficult to find a level pitch.
The loos and showers were adequate and clean, but housed in a very basic breeze block shed.

Hankin Farm is a great, simple, farm site in an excellent location and good value for money.
The field is roughly mown, and a bit sloping for the most part, but you can choose where to pitch so should find something that suits, either round the edges or in the centre. Lovely views from the site.
Facilities are in a rather grim looking breeze block farm outbuilding, but very clean and good. There are plenty of toilets with basins with hot water, the showers are free and the water hot, two washing up sinks, under cover, with hot water and a drinking water tap. All kept very clean.
Very few rules - dogs allowed on leads, fires off the ground allowed (firepits supplied free, huge bags of logs and kindling - £5).
15 mins walk from the station, with easy access to Matlock or Matlock Bath - parking in both can be tricky so this is a good option.
Very close to historical sites such as Cromford Mill, Crich Tram museum, easy access to lots of Derbyshire and Peak District attractions. The Railway line is good and there are lots of walks to do walking one direction and returning by train. See Derwent Valley Line for details, or look on the boards at the station.
There is a well stocked village convenience store / small supermarket in Crich as well as an artisan bakery (great cakes) and a butcher / deli and a chip shop - these all have restricted opening days so check. We liked the Cliff Inn just down the road from the Tram Museum.
Good petrol prices at the Gulf station 3 miles up the A6 towards Cromford.
I would happily return to Hankin Farm.

This is such a lovely campsite, it is clean, quite, spacious, the owners are extremely thoughtful and have plenty of effort and time for the campers.
My children absolutely loved it here we managed to get next to the rope swing which was perfect for us and kept the boys entertained for many hours.
The field was spotless, not one piece of rubbish in site which you don’t find very often.
The owners made everyone aware to leave plenty of space between campers which is a huge thing for me! Nothing worse than being on top of each other on a campsite. The owner also came onto the field many times to ensure it was clean, we were having fun and everyone was behaving, at one point he told a group to curve the swearing as young children were present which I thought was so lovely and greatly appreciated as the swearing was rather loud (didn’t cause us any harm but my kids don’t need to hear that) I genuinely thought it was a very lovely and thoughtful thing to do.
We loved the farm dog too! So friendly and fun.
All in all this was an extremely pleasant stay and we shall be back in a few weeks! Thank you for such a lovely time!

What a beautifully calm, stunningly picturesque place to stay for the first time.
We will definitely be coming back!
Gorgeous views right across the valley to the Crich memorial which was also worth the short drive to visit and walk around.
