Apologies for sounding repetitive but I'd like to just echo what other people are saying. The owners are helpful and friendly. The site is quiet (despite being close to a B road) and perfectly located for people doing the Hadrian's Way since the route passes right by the campsite. The showers and toilets were spotless and even had spare toiletries if you'd forgotten your own for some reason.
The owners also provided leaflets on the local attractions and the Path, one of which helped me a great deal since I'd made an error about a bus route home and wouldn't have realised it had I not taken one of the leaflets.
Overall I can't fault the site at all, I didn't see much of the area away from the wall so can't comment on that but there were a few shops back in Heddon on the Wall and a pub there, plus another about the same distance further along the B road. There's no playground but as I was a solo camper that didn't bother me.

Absolutely great campsite, owners exceptionally friendly and very helpful. A very small site with basic amenities 2 toilets 1 shower that were very clean and well looked after. The site is ideal for walking Hadrians Wall although some distance away from any pubs or shops. This however is a very minor problem because there are a number of takeaways that deliver to the site and there is also a local taxi firm that is more than willing to ferry you to the nearby town of Heddon on the Wall. The jewel in the crown however is the bacon butties you can order for the morning, great value for money and an ideal start for a long days walking. Fantastic site for both walkers and families who want a peaceful site.

My partner and I had a two night stop here with our dogs. I can only echo other reviews in saying what a great stay this was. The couple that own the site are very friendly and helpful.
The toilets (2 of) are clean and warm with hot water toilet roll, soap etc. There is also a shower room which makes you feel right at home.
The ground is flat (the only slight con is that the ground if pretty hard and took a good malletting to get any pegs in).
If you are after a quiet retreat this place is perfect. There are lovely walks nearby and takeaways that deliver to the site.
At £13 a night for us, our dogs and electric hookup,
We shall be returning very soon.

We stopped here over Easter weekend in our caravan we were totally impressed by this little site. The owners were very friendly and helpful, the toilets and shower were immaculate and the site was very quiet and peaceful and dog friendly. If you like peace and quiet then this is the site for you. As I have a lot of relations in the area we will definitely go again.
There are lots of good walking and the site is not far from local shops.

Great little site. Level pitches, immaculately clean and hot showers and loos, if a little draughty! Excellent value for money at onyl a few quid for a pitch. Right on the Hadrian's wall path and allows for a great jump off spot into the last day. It was ever so windy but there was enough shelter in the garden with high trees. A lovely local taxi firm took us into heddon on the hill for a couple of quid and recommended eateries.

What a fantastic little site!
The hedges surrounding the site ensured we were sheltered. The pitches are level, and the washing facilities spotless.
Also it ticked all our boxes
- Right on Hadrian's Wall so a nice bit of history
- Loads of footpaths all around (not just the National Trail) so we got our walking 'fix'
- Pleasant walk to High House House Farm brewery where they do excellent ale and the most amazing cheese board
- Easy walk to the Robin Hood pub as well (straight along the National Trail)
- Only half an hour from home so in the future, we could go 'on-spec' if we so desired
- Very reasonably priced. No danger of feeling 'ripped-off' unlike a few places I've been to
Would I recommend it? A most emphatic 'yes', but don't tell anyone else about it! ;)

Me, my wife and children (8 & 4yo) visited this site near the end of the summer holidays.
The site was exceptional value for money, excellent service and although the facilities were basic they were very clean.
There is loads to do within a short drive. The site is on the Hadriens Wall route, close the the picturesque village of Hexham and a short drive into Newcastle. Loads to do and if you don't fancy doing anything the site is very quiet.
Thank you for a most enjoyable visit, we will be back.

A brilliant site. It's only small but had everything we needed. We found it a peaceful site with no noise late on. The owners were very helpful and friendly.
They took our booking on trust without taking a deposit and allowed us to stay on the site for an extra night. The showers and toilets were clean. There was also a pot washing area which had cloths and washing up liquid supplied.
A draining board was all that was missing! There was also an under cover area which people used to stay dry and dry their clothes! It is directly on the Hadrian Wall walk. We found a lovely pub serving fantastic food nearby. The cost was very reasonable, (£15 a night for 2 adults, 3 kids and a dog).
I would definitely return.

Great little site.
We used this site to assist two lady's do the C2C. The site owners are very friendly and made us very welcome.
The site's facilities were spotless with piping hot water.
On the down side, the site is slightly sloping and the chemical waste disposal is a little Heath Robinson.
We will certainly come again.
There are plenty of walks for the dog and there is a brewery near by which serves really good meals.
Corbridge is a lovely little town about six miles away with all the shops you will need.
We really enjoyed our stay.

Myself and my girlfriend had 2 nights at this site and have a fab time.
Last time I was on a camp site was about 10 years ago, I was 16 then. So was a little nervous upon arrival. However the owner made us feel very welcome and showed us where to pitch.
Small site which is what we wanted as first time and only a short drive from newcastle.
The camping field is at the far end of the main house away from the small B road.
Well looked after hedge around the site so not much wind.
Parked car next to the tent
Some electric mains but we will save that for our next visit
On site there are 2 toilets both were clean and full of hot water.
Very nice shower better than some hotels I have been in.
3 rooms in all, 2 toilets and 1 shower converted from an old out building.
Also a dish washing area, again always with hot water and washing up liquid etc.
2 big tents, 2 caravans and a large motor home on the site when we arrived and plenty room for more.
Lots of little walks and things to explore in the area. A small way down a track there are a few WW2 pillboxes if you can find them and corbridge and hexham just a few minutes away.
Also good if you just want to chill out around the tent and be left to it.
£18.00 for me and her for 2 nights and when I knocked on the back door to pay before I gave her a 20 she had £2 in her hand ready to give me. Now that's service and with a smile.
The views are fantastic in every direction lots of green and farm land.
We are going again soon, cant wait
