Happy to agree with previous reviewers complimentary comments, especially in regard to how helpful the owners are. Belvedere really is a very pleasant small site. Being located directly on the Hadrian’s Wall trail, it is a recognized drop off for the Luggage Transfer scheme for campers walking the length of the trail.
Watch out for the entrance as there is only a car number plate on the wall which says “Camping”
The pitching area is directly behind the owner’s house and measures very approximately 65 metres long and 25 metres wide at the front, narrowing to 10 metres at the back. It is well sheltered / enclosed with hedging, well mown, well drained and almost level. There is a little traffic noise sometimes, but nothing intrusive.
Facilities block is a small ‘lean to’ structure conveniently located in one corner of the pitching area. It comprises two wcs and one shower - free and heated in winter. Shower appears to have been recently installed or refurbished and is very good. There is also a hot and cold pot washing area. At all times during our stay the facilities were very well maintained.
We thought it represented very good value for money at £10/night for van, two people, no EHU.
No local shops; get everything Hexham, Corbridge or Newcastle – each of which are worth visits in their own right.
If you enjoy real ale, try The Boathouse next to Wylam Station. Good eats and drinks pub with too many local CAMRA awards to mention.
To sum up: a little gem of a site.

This is a small, quiet site, run by a friendly and helpful couple. The grassy pitch makes it easy to get your tent up, it is level and protected by hedges from the wind. Toilet and shower facilities are new and kept spotless. Soap and shower gel are provided, also washing-up liquid and scouring pads, and even towels. And the price is right, too. Warmly recommended.

Stayed for 2 nights at this campsite for the 1st time. Very warm welcome. Campsite very clean and always plenty of hot water. Plenty of lovely walks and some lovely views. Pub near by Take Aways can be delivered to the campsite. Hexham only 20 mins away.
Very Good Value For Money. The couple who own the campsite were lovely and very helpful they would help you as much as they could. The campsite was also in a very nice quiet spot.
I am going back again in July for a few days and will return again and again that is how much we enjoyed it

Nice campsite, not far from Newcastle.
Ground on the soft side, rained a lot whilst were were there so got a bit muddy.
Shower looks brand new, new tiling in shower room and 1 of the toilets.
Owners friendly and a nice site if you want to be left to yourself.
Very cheap @ £4.50 per adult (dog and child were free).
Overall, very happy, and would visit again after checking the weather more closely.

We spent 2 nights at belvedere campsite over the bank holiday weekend. We only chose this site because everywhere else was full or there was a minimum stay of 3 nights and we only wanted 2. However, we found the site a lovely place to stay if you want a base to go off to hexham or hadrians wall or if you just want to chill round the tent with friends. The facilities were basic but very clean with a new red hot shower installed. There is a cold water tap on the site but no dishwashing area, but we just used the hot water from the toilet block and washed up at the tent. There is no playground for the kids as it is only a small site but at 4 pounds per person per night it is very good value. The couple who run the campsite are lovely and cannot do enough to help you, but leave you alone to do your own thing. We found the campsite good value for money and a very pleasant place to stay, we will definitely be going back.

What a gem of a site! Small and basic but friendly and clean, 19 miles from the start of Hadrians Wall so well placed, small sheltered well drained field, shower, sinks and oodles of hot water, even towels and soap! The campsite owners greet you like old friends and are mines of information on the wall walk. I can`t rate this site highly enough and a £4 a night its the cheapest site I found along the wall.
