This site was the first stop on our 4 week touring holiday and was perfect for our requirements for a few nights' stay. The site was easy to access from the M6 motorway, with good signage - just make sure you turn right into the lane before the pub, rather than into the pub itself!
There was excellent communication from the owner, Alison, prior to booking and she visited the site regularly to check all was okay.
As a C&CC CS it takes a maximum of 5 units, offering a choice of flat, level hard-standing (5) or grass (2) pitches, all with 16 amp electric hook-ups and an easy to access water/waste water disposal point and a separate Elsan point.
At the site entrance (after the tarmac driveway) there is a security height barrier, unlocked for caravan/motorhome arrivals and departures, and an attractive planted area with an information board, a board showing your pitch number the day of your arrival, recycling and rubbish bins and a small red postbox to leave your payment if required.
The site itself is very attractive and beautifully maintained, with large, lawn-quality grass areas between and around the pitches and views over the fields. We found it to be peaceful day and night, and well-priced.
Just for information (not a negative for us!) there are no toilet or shower facilities or Wi-Fi, and payment is cash only.
There are all the main supermarkets and various attractions within a short drive of the site (we enjoyed visiting the Anderton Boat Lift and country park), and the short bridlepath at the bottom of the lane and the village green at the top were perfect for the early and late dog-walks.
We would definitely hope to visit this site again, especially as it is open all-year.

Owners very helpful. Brief visit each day to make sure all was ok. Well kept hardstanding and grass. Wish our lawn was as good. Five minutes walk to a restaurant food was lovely and when the temperature dropped they lit the log burning fires. Very cosy.
There were windfall Bramley apples at the top and bottom of site. I checked with the owner about gathering them, she said we were welcome to take as many as we wanted. Which we did and cooked them ready to free at home.
Would definitely visit again.

Stunning site. Beautiful location. Easy access from main road next to the hayhurst arms pub. Own sanitation essential. Elsan water and waste. Recycling encouraged at only £14 a night. A gem of a site. Pub within walking distance.

We originally booked for 4 nights but ended by staying for 6. A lovely quiet campsite where we were left alone but Alison, the owner, was always available if required. The nearby pub was a bonus, well worth a visit.
The site is easily accessed from the M6 and from the local road.
All in all a little gem well worth discovering, but remember 'own sanitation essential'.

Found the site a bit noisier than I expected, noise coming from the main road, albeit there is a big field between the campsite and the road. There is also quite a lot of air traffic so on a flight path from Manchester airport I would think. Noise from the road continued through the night, but road did become a lot less busy.
The site is immaculate, it has basic facilities, no toilets or showers, not an issue for us as we have the facilities in our van but if in a tent or trailer tent this needs considering. There is a walk on the lane which comes out on to the main road, but it only takes about 10 minutes to walk, so don't rely on this as a dog walk.
Unfortunately an hour or so after arriving they cut the grass and it did not get picked up, so ended up with wet grass in the awning and caravan. There is 1 hard standing and plans for a further 2 to be done next year. It had been really wet and the site was really getting churned up by vans and cars. Good value at £12 a night.
There is a high bar barrier which prevents anyone being able to just turn up and pitch without owners knowing. Also it is an added security when you leave your van on site. However if you are in a motorhome and intend to go out in it each day, you will need to unlock an lock the barrier each time you go in or out.

What a lovely, peaceful site! We have just stayed for four days midweek. When we arrived on Sunday the site was full apart from our pre-booked pitch, but the week-end campers left during the day leaving just two units and then just ourselves for the three remaining days. 3 glorious hot days of sunshine and tranquillity. Other reviewers have left ample descriptions of the site from previous visits, and suffice to say the site is still as beautifully maintained, with neatly trimmed hedgerows and grass that any gardener would be proud of.
One of the six pitches has now been converted to a motorhome hardstanding with another planned in the near future.
This was our third and certainly not our last visit to this delightful site.

Only booked due to our usual being full. So glad it was this is a gem of campsite. Slightly slopped well cut lawn. Only 6 spaces with plant of room for each pitch. A working fairy farm so plenty of cows to moo you in the morning. Great pub and restaurant minutes away very busy and popular so book a table to save waiting. Will be visiting again. There is no toilet facilities or showering note this is a small site so make sure you are aware of this.

Stayed for a weekend. Warm welcome. Nice tidy min fac site with electrics, close to Northwich and Middlewich. Water point and waste point clean and conveniently located. Well-spaced pitches. High barrier (unlocked when caravans coming in or out) gives security for vans with minimum inconvenience. Didn't find road or aircraft noise a problem.

Lovely site, very well maintained and lots of space. Children able to play safely away from road and added bonus of the cows being in the field behind kids love it and we do too.
Recycling is encouraged.
16 amp electric.
Good road access.
Locked height barrier once sited.
Able to purchase jams, fruit pies, cakes from lady by site entrance.
Good for bird watchers and plane spotters.
Great value for money at only £10 per night.
We will for sure be back again soon
