This is one of the best sites that we have visited. The pictures on the website don't do it justice.
We arrived at the end of August and the site had already started to slow down for winter. Staff were friendly and helpful. There was almost no tourers or motorhomes on site when we left. That said the facilities we used were all open / running and we had freedom to do whatever we liked.
Pitches excellent size with plenty of privacy. Toilets were spotless and clean. Showers were 20c a minute paid for by loading a prepaid card.
The lake is magnificent. It has a blue flag. We canoed on the lake most days and there are several safe swimming areas.
Our children also loved the huge range of facilities on offer including tennis, football, boules, skateboarding. An excellent location for cyclist as there are many cycle routes from the park.
There were a couple of small towns nearby for shopping and fuel etc.
We would highly recommend this site.

We're just back from a great two weeks here, facilities are clean and tidy, blocks 1 & 2 are most modern and have toilets/showers for todlers and baby baths. The pitches are large as the local caravanners seem to like to spread! Ours had two big trees in it but there was still plenty of room. Pitches could be better checked inbetween campers, we had to clear dog poo from ours. The reception staff speak good english and staff are mostly helpful. There was however one man in a golf buggy that nearly ran us off the road and then came back to scald us like naughty children for pushing our bikes through a no cycling area. The lake is great and the pictures don't do the play area justice, its like they couldn't stop them selves building more! Also there's a small play area and ping pong tables outside the toilet blocks. When you arrive you get a card to get in and out, you also need to charge the card to pay for showers, there not expensive and it means there's never a wait, our boys had a competition to spend least in the shower. To help you recycle you can only dispose of waste in their orange bags and at over a euro each, it works, as we used very few. Normally paying extra for showers winds me right up but as the site is so cheap it diddnt really matter. There are lots of pine cones and hungry midges! Its not brilliantly placed for days out but if the weathers on your side you wont need to. Overall a great site.

This is one of the best sites that we have ever visited. Pitches excellent size with plenty of privacy. Toilets were spotless and cleaned several times a day.
The on site facilities were fantastic and kept the kids amused for hours on end. We had tennis, badminton, boules, table tennis and skateboarding all on our doorstep.
The lakeside facilities for kids were amazing and among the best that I've seen. Staff were friendly and went out of their way to be helpful.
Excellently located for visits to Bruges, Antwerp (great zoo), Ghent and Brussels.
Would not hesitate to return here and could not recommend it highly enough.

We booked this site after reading the reviews - and we're so glad we did. We spent ages studying the site map to choose our pitch but when we got to the site we realised how far away we were. The lady in reception gave us a list of available pitches and sent us off to choose the one we liked best.
The facilities were fantastic and well-maintained and we thought the site was extremely good value - we've paid more for a site in England with only a fraction of the facilities.
We were impressed with how quiet the site was after 10pm.
We bought a cycle map from the shop and had several great rides on the cycle paths - although we did get overtaken by lots of retired couples!
Just one tip - if you go to Brussels, don't pay to go in the Atomium. Admire it from outside then move on! Otherwise, we found the Belgians very welcoming and it was easy to be a visitor.

Had 12 fantastic days holiday at De Lilse Bergen. The Reception staff allowed us on pitch early, all staff speak fluent English. Pitches are all a good size and we had plenty of room for the caravan, awning and room to eat/sit outside. The pine trees act as a great canopy. The children enjoyed playing Tennis, Table-Tennis at the free parks and the beach areas were well designed and maintained. All areas of the park were very clean at all times, despite being extremely busy. Staff were always out and about ensuring the grounds and play equipment were maintained. The toilets and showers were very well kept and the newer blocks closest to reception area even had children's toilets and baby changing facilities. You have to load a 'credit' card to pay for the showers. We think it would have been better to have included this in the overall daily rate, as there was a refundable deposit already on the card but this was not a major problem. The on site shop is quite expensive, but there are Lidl and Aldi Supermarkets in nearby Gierle and Lille. There are also footpaths, cycle paths and 3 circular Mountain Bike routes commencing at the entrance to site, so bring your bikes or hire on site!

Just returned from a lovely 2 week holiday at De Lilse Bergen. We were given a lovely welcome at reception, all staff speak English which is great. The pitches are all a good size and we had plenty of room for the caravan, awning and room to eat/sit outside. The children enjoyed playing at the parks and the beach areas. The activities for the children were very well organised and reasonably priced. The climbing wall was great fun. The staff were very friendly and explained to them in english what was expected. All areas of the park were very clean at all times, despite being quite busy. Staff were always out and about ensuring he grounds and play equipment were maintained. The toilets and showers were spotless, you have to pay for the showers but this was not a problem. The only down side is the on site shop. It is poorly stocked and quite expensive. A van comes round some evenings selling spit roast chickens, the chicken was delicious and not expensive. The photographs on the website do not do the site justice. We will definitely return as we all had such a lovely time.

We spent a week here with our 2 kids and totally loved it.
We were fortunate enough to get a spot in section 1 which is the section closest to the reception and right next to the playground.
The staff were all very friendly and spoke good English.
The playground was fantastic and was very well equipped and well maintained.
All the facilities were clean and well taken care of.
I did find the on site shop to be rather lacking but the nearest village is only about 10 minutes away by car and it has supermarkets and everything you would need.
The lake is also used as a day recreation facility so during the day it is very busy, but they close the day recreation in the early evening and then it is very quiet.
As far as price goes you are going to be hard pressed to find and site close to this price that has even half the facilities this place has.
I simply cannot sing the praises of this site high enough, if I could rate it 11 I would

We have just arrived back from this site, it was lovely, the reception staff were very pleasant and spoke good english they were very helpful.
On arrival they pointed out our pitch to us which was very large so plenty of room for caravan, awning and small tent we also could sit outside the awing.
The ground was very dry from the hot weather they had had and quite sandy, when we had rain it did flood the awning a bit as the ground was so dry.
The toilet blocks were very clean and even though you had to pay for shower it was worth every euro! The surrounding area was very nice we visited the restaurant on the way to the site on the left hand side which is highly recommended.
The actually activities on the site were great we had 16 and 15 year olds with us and they were very occupied the beach was clean and the lake was beautiful.
All in all I would highly recommend this site, and definitely go back again.

We booked into the site for four nights but we decided after one night to book for the rest of the week.
This site is truly awesome perfect for a family holiday there is so much to do.
Kids have got so much to do there they will never get bored.
Tennis courts, skate park, proper adventure playground with rope slide and lots of climbing frame swings etc, massive slides.
The swimming lake is awesome.
The kids lake is almost like a small lagoon with a pirate ship, rope pulled rafts, slides into the water, fountains etc.
If you go on the website it simply does not do the website justice.
The people staying are mostly Belgian or Dutch and are very helpful and friendly towards Brits.
All the staff speak english and are very friendly.
We hired bikes one day, I think it was eight euros for the day and had a cracking ride around the local area. It is very safe to cycle in Belgium as all motorists give way for bikes and there are plenty of cycle paths.
The bus stop is a twenty minute walk away. You can catch a bus to the local city Turnhout. This is a lovely city, well worth a visit with lots of shops and bars etc. You can also catch a train to Antwerp from Turnhout, well worth a visit.
We will definitely go again next year.

Fantastic site. Set in pine woodland. Huge lake for swimming, boating, etc, with an enormous sandy beach, just like being at the seaside without the jellyfish!
Loads of things for children of all ages to do both in and out of the water with the play equipment, climbing frames and slides, sports pitches and play areas. Even go carts to hire for the day to ride round the site. Lots of cycle paths in the forest, everyone in belgium seems to ride a bike!
Toilet blocks were always spotless. A bit of a pain having to top up a card with euros to be able to have a hot shower (20 cents buys you 1 minute of hot water) cold shower is free. Fun trying to have the shortest cheapest shower and still get clean though!
We had some problems with noisy neighbours the first couple of nights, following the first night's 3am music fest a warden came round asking if we'd had any problems and the perpetrators (a group of 6 belgium lads, sometimes accompanied by 2 squealing girls) were in their words 'punished', not sure how though. The next night they were shouting and screaming till 12. 30. We went out for the day to come back to find our tent had been egged! After complaining to reception I was told they were leaving that night, the security guard ensured they did.
Following this we had a peaceful time, with some lovely neighbours.
The site is near to the main road and road noise is constant but you do get used to it. It is close to lots of nice little towns but I don't recommend getting lost in Antwerp!
It is pretty much exactly a 2. 5hr drive from Calais. It's a brilliant place for children and for the amount of facilities is remarkably very reasonably priced. A great, well run site that I would return to again if in the area.
