This is fantastic site set in beautiful wooded surroundings, we were greeted with the smell of pine every morning. There is a large lake with a man made beach within the site and the play facilities for kids are great! The facilities are excellent, although you have to pay for the showers, they even have special facilities for children. The shop was shut, but there is a large supermarket in the nearby village. The cycling tracks are brilliant and you can go for miles without seeing a car! I would thoroughly recommend this site.

This was our first caravanning trip abroad, we chose this site as it was only about 2.5 hours from Calais and it looked like a fairly easy route to get to,
We certainly was not disappointed, there website does not do it justice, This site is amazing, especially if you have children of any age, Our 2 foster children (aged 4 and 2) and our son aged 2.5 absolutely loved it, there was so much to do we hardly had time to shoehorn everything in. There is plenty to do for older children too (and adults who like acting like children) as there are so may different play areas/equipment all located near to the lake.
The site itself is literally just off the main road, however due to the amount of trees road noise is not a problem,
The site is a large 500 pitch site with a number of toilet blocks scattered about, we visited when it was very busy, however the toilet blocks we're immaculately clean every time we went in, Most of the staff also speak English and all of the reception staff seemed to which put my mind at ease.
There is a small shop on site that sold the very basics, however the site is about 4 miles away from the quite large town of Turnhout, here there is a Lidl and a carrefour supermarket, The town also has an array of shops and also train station and buses that seem to go everywhere (although we didn't use them)
The site also has a bar near to the lake and if you walk just off the site back up towards the main road along the forest road (there is a path) you get to a brilliant little pub called De Heihove, They have an excellent outdoor bar, bouncy castle, trampoline, slides and play equipment, they also have quite an extensive menu of food and drinks, unfortuantely we didn't manage to get round to eating there but did go for drinks a few times and was very impressed. Well worth a visit.
The pitches on site are large enough although you don't leave your car next to your pitch, (there are allocated parking spaces around the site for your car)
The swimming lake is also beautiful and they produce the results of the water tests in reception, you can also hire kayaks and pedaloes for 4 euros for half an hour.
Whilst we we're there we visited Brugge, Rotterdam and Turnhout all well worth a visit.
We definitely would go back here as there is still so much that we would like to see. Excellent holiday, our kids loved it.

We stayed here at the end of August for 8 nights we had stayed in Netherlands for a hectic 10 nights so this was our rest. The first few days were busy but then the Belgian school holidays finished so it was very quiet and no nightly ice-cream van much to my boys disappointment.
It was a lovely site and my boys(7 and 3) loved it, the pitches were spacious we didn't have any trouble with midges, toilet blocks clean, showers you have to rent a key (which is also the barrier key) and put on euros. Though a bucket of water by pitch is handy to wash feet before bed.
The children's playground and pools are fantastic, and included in the price, we also hired a pedalo and went on the crazy golf. We never saw the climbing wall open while we were there.
Camp shop had virtually nothing in but there was a reasonable shop about a 10 mins drive away, there was a roast chicken stall by the entrance most days and for the first few days an icecream van drove around outside the parameter and stopped at gaps in the hedge.
We hired bikes and there are some nice trails to cycle around from the camp site, we only went off site for one day as had no need to go anywhere else. Site has lots of red squirrel's and best time is to to the seasonal pitches early morning to see them.
This site provides excellent value for money and we had a camping card International and we had a further discount when we checked in.

After a couple of day trips to this camp site, we decided to have a go at camping. We have two children aged 5 and 9 and can recommend this site to families with children of any age.
The site is set in a wood with a large lake with a fine sandy beach in the centre with water slides and playground. Canoe's are available to hire at a reasonable rate.
The camping pitches are around 100 sq meters and set out between the pine trees, very relaxing! But don't forget your mosquito nets, they breed them big over here!
There are six toilet and shower blocks (cleaned regularly) spread around the site, so wherever you camp you are never far from one if you get caught short!
It is a very child friendly site with strict speed limits for vehicles 15KPH.
The camp shop only has basic needs, but a few kilometres away in Gierle there is a big supermarket and an Aldi.
In general this is a fantastic campsite .We are going there again next year, the kid's loved it and gave us some time to relax and for 350 euros for 2 weeks you cant go wrong!
