A fantastic little site run by a family who go Caravanning themselves, so understand what is required. Very friendly family who go out of their way to help. We've been coming here on and off for several years now because the site is so peaceful and lovely, as a previous reviewer said the track could be a challenge for a small car but we've never had any problems.
WIFI has been added and TV point water and drainage to each site, facilities that make this site stand out from the crowd. We will definitely be visiting this wonderful little site again and again.

A gem of a site. Run by a very friendly family. Clean facilities and excellent WiFi. The site is quiet and out of the way. The farm lane could be a challenge for a small car. We used this site for a day trip to the Titanic exhibition in Northern Ireland and stayed for 3 nights. We will return.

Hi myself and my partner were just at the Low Glengyre Caravan last week Mon-Fri. We stayed in the static caravan which was such a delight. As a young couple we extremely enjoyed our time at the caravan. The surroundings are beautiful as you can see for miles across the hills. Within the caravan we had everything we needed. As stated in the caravans description it's a little home from home. The family are lovely people and have a lovely little dog called Bella.
We loved it so much we plan to book up again for November this year. Looking forward to the hot tub at night gazing up to the stars.
Thanks very much for the wonderful stay.

Not long back home from this great site, and already thinking about our next visit back here. On arrival we were met by the owner and her daughter who immediately made us happy we chose to come here, we stayed for a week and wished it were two as there was so much to do in the area. There are 2 toilets and a shower all kept very clean and tidy along with a washing machine. There are 3 fully serviced pitches with water, electric, and drainage + TV aerial hook-up, value for money 100% the owners three kids are very polite and helpful, also you MUST meet 'BELLA' their best friend a young Greyfriars
Bobby and ever so friendly.

Just returned from this fantastic site which really does give you the feeling of being in the middle of nowhere whilst only being 2 miles from Stranraer where you can get all your provisions, and there is a general store closer still.
There are plenty of fabulous walks in the area and spectacular beaches (some harder to find than others, but well worth the effort).
There was much more to do here than we first realised. Including day trips to Ireland to see the Giants Causeway or the Belfast Titanic Exhibition. All this information was gained from the very informative packs put together by the site owners.
The very friendly family who run this CL are caravaners themselves and have thought of everything, even including beautiful toiletries in the shower.
As this site is on a working farm the owner is generally always on hand should you need anything.
As to the site itself we agree with the other reviewers, who have said it is clean tidy and well kept. On a stormy weekend we had no problems with water or electricity supply or drainage.
We are very glad we found this site and will certainly return in the future.

Arrived here yesterday. Met Bella the dog, and her family. Lovely quiet evening sat outside looking over the beautiful countryside. Woke this morning to the sound of birds, cows and a distant tractor, it is a working dairy farm - yes you and or the kids are welcome to pitch in!
Breakfast outside then a walk or cycle for us today.
Site has everything you need and owners eager to please - just improved tv reception, added wifi and water to each pitch. Honesty box for shower (basic but clean), washer - we just added up number of showers needed, added a couple of washes and paid with pitch fee - still only £100 for 7 nights!
They have a new static caravan which even has it's own private hot tub on the decking, with great views.
If you want peace and quiet, a relaxing break, to recharge the batteries this is the place to do it.

Had a fantastic time. Clean shower and 2 toilets, and a washing machine which was really useful! Were given loads of useful local information on what to do in the surrounding area including gardens, beaches, cafes, walks as well as the usual selection of leaflets. Amazing swimming pool in Stranraer too.
Family were extremely friendly and we were given a tour of the farm on more than one occasion. Our 2 young kids loved seeing the cows and pigs and sitting on the tractor, as well as playing with the children.
This is an ideal location for any family with kids under the age of 10, or for couples wanting to go for walks and visiting the numerous gardens as there's so much to do. Its also a good place to stop for anyone wanting to jump on the ferry to Belfast or anyone interested in seeing a working dairy farm.
We will probably head back there again for our main holiday next year as there was stuff we didn't get time to do!
Thanks for a fab holiday

We choose this caravan as our children are obsessed with farms (or more importantly cows). I had stumbled upon it on google and I am so glad I did. As soon as I rang to book and spoke to the owner I immediately got a warm friendly response and I felt assured that a pleasant holiday was awaiting us. We decided to book for 4 nights for the end of July. On arrival we were greeted by the breathtaking views and the 'fresh air' (something we aren't used to in the city). Our children and the owner's (they were all around the same ages) immediately became chums which made the whole experience all the more special. The kids all played happily around the glen which they loved.
No problem was too small for the owner and her family. We asked to have a our of the farm (of course why not, while in Rome) and we thoroughly enjoyed the owner explaining the different aspects of her farm and showing us the various animals they keep. On our 1st morning our car wouldn't start and the farmhand went to fetch a local mechanic who got us back on the road in no time, We thoroughly enjoyed the owners home baking and conserves and I only wish now I had took home a steak pie :-(.
Only a few miles from the farm there are beaches, a town nearby with a fantastic park, gorgeous places to dine and Castle Kennedy (well worth a a visit)! Our only wish was that we didn't have to go home so soon as we loved it. We'll definitely be going back next year, only this time we're booking for a week!

Very good, quiet site with nice views. It's a convenient stopover on the way to/from the Irish ferry at Cairnryan (20-30 min. Drive. ) Each pitch has a gravelled hardstanding surrounded by grass, with wooden garden chairs provided!
The small toilet block is very useful in a CL. There are 2 loos, a washbasin and very roomy shower. There's also a washing machine (like the shower, it's £1 in the honesty box) and lots of information about local attractions.
We got a friendly receptiom from Clare and her daughter Rebecca who at 9 years old is much better at pitching up and winding the legs down than I am!
We only spent a short time here on our way to and from Ireland but managed to fit in a visit to the pretty little harbour of Port Patrick, the semi-tropical gardens at Port Logan and the most southerly point in Scotland, the Mull of Galloway. There's plenty to see in the area, especially for garden lovers. The presence of the Gulf Stream means all sorts of exotic plants can be grown and there are half a dozen local gardens to visit.

Just spent a weekend at this site to try it out. I liked it immediately upon the approach. The site is in a rural setting (working farm) with fabulous views across the countryside from each pitch.
Toilet facilities are in a portacabin, basic but very clean. There is a new shower unit which costs £1 per use, payable by honesty box. This may sound expensive but I actually like the idea of a cheap site then extras payable if you wish to use them - most caravans will have their own facilities - and at £12 per pitch with electricity included I feel that is great value for money. This is one of the darkest sites I have ever been on. I only wish the sky had been clear, because this would be the ideal site for star-gazing - very little light pollution. Because of this though a torch is essential if a trip outside the caravan is required at night!
The owners are friendly and helpful. What they didn't know, they found out for us. For example they emailed the local pub to ask if dogs are permitted (they are) and rang a local taxi to enquire if they would also take the dog (they do). Claire (owner) also makes her own chutneys and soups etc which she sells, along with free-range eggs.
The nearest village, Kirkcolm, is about 2 miles away. The pub, The Blue Peter, sells real ale and serves food. We didn't dine there as we had just eaten but we heard good reports and there were plenty of people eating whilst we were there. Dogs and children (you can see my priority) welcomed - dogs in the bar only.
There is loads to see and do in this part of Dumfries and Galloway. The site is a great base for exploring the Portpatrick and Stranraer areas, both only a short drive away. And slightly further afield is Port Logan, Port William and the Mull of Galloway. This is a smashing site for relaxing or exploring - the views alone are worth the site fees. We enjoyed it very much and will return.
