Great wee site on working farm. Claire was very helpful with things to do and walks.

Booked for 3 nights and ended up staying for 5. Great location, very central.

Will definitely return!

Lovely sunny, fully serviced pitch, with great views. Ideal location for touring the Rhins Penninsula and getting to the ferry for Ireland (as we were doing).

More facilities than at most CLs and honesty box for washer. (Toilets could do with upgrading but the site is excellent value for money. )

Yes, as others mention, the access road is deeply rutted and uneven (due to tractor use) and would really benefit from levelling, regravelling, but it’s worth it to get to the pitch! (Pitches area would also benefit from smaller gravel to make manoeuvring van easier and walking more comfortable. )

The owner was attentive and extremely helpful and her teenage children were very friendly and kept the large grass sitting-out area of the pitches mown to perfection!

Passing through, one night only. Can't find fault with the place, it is a working farm, so expect farm roads ( no problem as not very rough). Owners very friendly and helpful.

Facilities are great, everything you need on a CL. Excellent place, would use again. Outstanding value for money.

 Lovely friendly and comfortable site

After reading a couple of negative reviews I'm not sure if those persons stayed at the same site as we did. I have nothing bad to say about Low Glengyre Farm, after a last minute booking we were welcomed by the busy working family of Claire and Angus and their lovely children who were very well mannered.

Angus, who was busy running a farm still went out of his way to make sure we had a great television signal and loaned us a coaxial lead. We also purchased some delicious home made soup from Claires daughter. What you have to remember is that this is a working farm and you will get the odd sound of a tractor nearby but nothing travels through the CL site and you are left to your own devices however help is always available should you require it.

The most amazing thing is the price of £12 which include EHU and wifi (rural so its not the fastest) but you can get a good phone signal on 3G should you need it.

At this price and location you would be mad not to give this place a try - we did and we will return again. Thanks for having us. Jenna & Deborah

Recently stayed at this fantastic Cl site and was delighted so much that we extended our stay.

Yes, it is a farm, with a farm lane, but there are no problems as long as you take your time on the lane. For larger units, there is ample room to turn in the farmyard and then it is a straight road to the site.

This site charges a flat charge of 12 pounds per night that includes electric hookup and some fully serviced pitches.

In addition, there is two toilets, a shower (one pound, with an honesty box) and a washing machine (honesty box).

The WiFi, being a rural area, does 'drop out' but the owner, helpfully suggested the fix! Permanent television aerial points were renewed during our stay.

The surrounding area is fabulous for cycling, walking, beaches and birdwatching! Especially, for just enjoying a slower pace of life.

It was one of the best cl sites we have ever visited, in fact, we believe that they don't charge enough!

Fantastic stay, in a lovely location, with excellent hosts!

Ps, the mouldy soap was actually fancy handmade soap that the owner has now removed as a result of previous reviews!

First impressions on this cl site, I chose this based on reviews but to be fair they were over a year ago. The road was a farm track, which was very rough, low at the edges and high in the middle, if your car was low you would struggle, and also a tight turn at the top, which would be difficult for a long outfit.

When we pulled onto the site, the grass was long, the pitches whilst hard standing, were quite large stones and difficult to walk on, more so if you are unsteady on your feet. We were met by the owners father, who really didn’t say anything about the site.

After deciding to stay we pitched up, the water and waste we’re fully serviced which was a bonus. The site advertises tv connections, these were broken and also wi fi which did not work. The bin area was overflowing and the toilet block just okay, horrible bar of soap and horrible hand towel.

We saw no one until Thursday morning when the mother went to clean the toilet, I’m sure that was only because another caravanner left on the Wednesday and complained about the state of everything. After the women cleaned the toilet she asked us how we found everything, we said what we found unacceptable and her words ”well if you don’t like it leave” unbelievable.

We started to pack and the daughter pulled up full of apologies for her mother’s comments. From then on it did improve, the wi fi was fixed and as a temporary measure a roll of tv cable was laid to the vans, after we suggested what could be done, and the grass was cut, the bins emptied and the place generally was tidied up.

This could be a fab little site with just ongoing care, cleaning ensuring things work, and ensuring guests are greeted and made to feel welcome.

On a positive note the peace and the views and the birds made up for it.

Absolutely shocked at the decline in the state if the CL Site. The owner never appeared during our four day stay, no grass cut, hedges growing wild couldn't see out over top of them.

No strimming done around edges. Toilets never cleaned once in 4 days, my husband washed the floor in the block during our stay. No bins emptied just bags upon bags lying beside bins and flies everywhere! Weeds everywhere you went no dog walk anymore due to cottage rental!

Telephoned owner to collect our money morning we leaving and guess what she never turned up! Ended up leaving payment with her mother who lives on lane way! No wi Fi either and some TV points not working.

Just a mess the entire place. A day's work around the site would make it better. Sadly won't be back unless changes are made!

Visited this lovely family run site recently in our caravan and found it to be excellent. The lady and her family who run the site could not be anymore helpful particularly daughter Rebecca who went that extra mile to fulfil a jam and egg request. Rebecca is very knowledgeable regarding the caravanners view, the area and the campsite.

Toilet block with shower and washing machine was spotless and a great asset to the site for the realistic cost per night.

Views are excellent and the site is away from the farmyard for those who are not country folk at heart. We had our little doggies with us who enjoyed the stay immensely as did ourselves. Will be back soon. Thank-you for everything.
