Blew a bit hot & cold about this campsite. Friendly staff, reasonable pitches, facilities and price along with good transport into Bordeaux. The pitches turning to the left after reception have better facilities available than those reached by turning right. The only chemical toilet disposal point is situated near the left side pitches which is a bit of a trek from the right hand pitches.
Dishwashing, shower and hot water was not very hot.
The bins in the rubbish disposal area (again a reasonable trek from the right hand side pitches) were pretty full and didn’t seem to have much attention. Internet provision was poor - initially paid 8eu for 3 days but given the connection kept dropping I didn’t bother after an hour and asked for and received a refund on my bill.

More of a stopover site as near to the A630 Rocade, however we managed to cycle to the city centre from the site as the cycle paths are excellent.
There are two sides to this campsite and the toilet facilities are very different on either side.
On the left there is a heated shower block, however the washing up sinks are in the middle of the shower block which also had disabled toilets in it (washing your pots whilst someone is using the toilet in the same room does not equate to hygiene to me). On the right side of the site they are more open to the element type of showers (each shower door opens directly to the outside).
Wifi 3 euros a day although this is on a sliding scale if you stay longer.
This site is good for short stays but not much to offer for a longer holiday.

Originally only intended to stay for one night on our way south but due to the proximity to Bordeaux we stayed an extra day in order to visit the city. The campsite was adequate for this as we were away during the day. We were able to choose our pitch and at the time of visiting in late August there was plenty of choice. Pitches are on the small side and quite sandy which can make manoeuvring a van difficult.
Toilet facilities were modern and clean although as cubicle doors open directly outside there could be a problem with wet/dirty floors in bad weather.
The site is easily accessed from the ring road and has good easy public transport links into the city.
We paid 25 euros per night as outside of ACSi period.

An expensive site but very close to Bordeaux and easy to find. The park and ride option into Bordeaux is very cheap from the tram stop on the other side of the lake - many others cycled in. Can get noisy at night - generally from drunken older people who should know better. Mosquitos are a problem - bring candles etc! Pool is very small for the size of the site (huge number of mobile homes). Tent pitches are not marked out so feels very crowded at times. Price on website was considerably less than charged and receipts were unavailable - quelle surprise. Reception staff were pretty surly and unhelpful but the remainder of staff were very friendly on site. Toilets and washblocks exceptionally clean (several dotted around park), toilet paper provided. Very small play park suits younger children but not much there. Communal bins were quite frankly grim - worst I have come across in many, many years in France. Bordeaux is worth the visit though!

We stayed here because we have friends in Bordeaux that we wanted to visit, and for this it was perfect, but I would not have been happy for any other reason. I did not feel safe here, and I locked everything up all the time. The log cabins are used by local workmen working on the stadium, and nobody really spoke to each other. The site was pleasant enough, it's just not what I want from camping, to escape from it all. This is a city site, make no mistake, facilities all good, but no real charm!

We stayed here for 1 night as a stop over on our way to Biarritz. Very easy to get to just off the peripherique so we didn't have to go out of our way.
The site seems to be on the edge of a sports village/commercial area but that was fine by us. Couldn't book in advance but were told just to turn up and there were plenty of empty pitches.
The site has potential - clean, modern facilities, good location, helpful staff, area surrounding pitches would benefit from landscaping (overgrown!).
Never mind the frogs - beware the mosquitoes, they savaged me!
We cycled into Bordeaux (30 mins) which was really enjoyable. A very bike friendly city with the cycle path taking you right down to the boulevard running along the river bank. Very picturesque and worth visiting.
We cycled along the river and into the city to sip a cold beer in a typical French square complete with water fountain.
A great little stop over.

This was a very clean site, with clearly marked grassy plots. Toilet/shower block very clean and modern too, complete with hairdryers - the only one I've seen so far.
The small(ish) outdoor pool was adequate to swim in, and refreshing after a hot day if all you want to do is wallow in the water.
We didn't use the bus or tram service but cycled into Bordeaux on the waymarked cycle routes (allow at least 30 mins if you are an occasional cyclist like me - the lad at the desk said it would take 15 mins. Huh!)
As others have said, the main drawback is the noise of the frogs at night. However, if you take some earplugs you will be OK (I stuffed tissue paper into my ears and that worked).
Be aware that the restaurant area can be hired out on Saturday nights for parties, receptions, etc. (we had a raucous wedding party the weekend we were there) and the noise from that can go on until well into the early hours.

Arrived at this site to find that there is some difficulty with the number of electric sockets to pitches. Also many pitches do require extension leads and the whole area looks something akin to an electricians convention with cables running everywhere even across the access road as people attempt to find a spare socket. Many of the pitches we couldn't have attempted to enter (with 7. 2 metre caravan) without using the motor mover. Unfortunately whilst we were occupied doing this we would find that someone in a motorhome would have moved onto an adjacent pitch and pinched the electric point we were going to have. On the third attempt (my step had been moved from the pitch by a Frenchman in a motorhome whose response to my trying to reason with him was that he was going to eat his dinner!) we gave up and requested our camping card back. Reception were helpful (you cannot blame the staff for the chaos that was happening amongst the many nationalities inside trying to get set up for the night) and suggested we could spend the night outside the gates in a large parking area that did have electric hook-up and water. This to us was preferable to actually staying on the site as we did then have room to breathe.
The toilet block and showers were very clean. But are mixed, so ladies unless you do not mind walking past urinals in use to get to the cubicles beware.
I'm sure that it's proximity to Bordeaux will make it a popular site, but I personally would prefer to stay a little way out and catch the train in rather than stay at this site.

There are good things to say about this site - it's in a big area of grassland (no mosquito problem when we were there!)not far from newly developed commercial areas with chain restaurants &c; also easily accessible to the tram line going straight to the heart of Bordeaux - the City is full of things to see and do and well worth several days exploration. However, we wished we'd stayed at one of the many cheap hotels in the area: the campsite is not cheap and we would have changed to a hotel but we had already paid by internet!
Started badly because th site we were given had clearly been used as a dog-toilet; there were also remains of fires on it so the grass had turned into a surface of black sand. A big problem with this was that the mess got trampled into the unisex, toilet-shower block; to give them credit, the staff were constantly working to keep the floors clean - which meant that for much of the time the block was out of use! (Not really a complaint but the shower block was of post-modern design with various cubicles (standard toilets, Turksih toilets, showers, urinals) scattered around in no sort of order. ). We were charged for electricity although we had no hook-up. The small recycling area was totally inadequate. No bar and a sall shop only open for a short time. The large restaurant was expensive and late opening. In many ways, our biggest problem was that we were surrounded by large numbers of Spaniards (it's a convenient stopover from/to Spain) who tended to eat, drink, talk &c until late in the night/morning: I've often wondered why some campsites segregate campers by nationality - how I wish they'd done it here!
This site may be okay for caravanners (although we saw several people having problems navigating on the sand) but if we ever go back to Bordeaux we'll hotel it!

This site was expensive 36. 50 Euros for 1 night in August without a receipt for payment (2 people 1 tent 1 dog + electric).
There were no grassed areas for tents just sand so deep in parts we got our car stuck.
The camping area was around a mosquito ridden lake I suffered 27 bites, a lady in a tent nearby went to the camp shop for repellent were they were charging 15 euros for a small spray.
The toilets did not have toilet paper or even fixed dispensers to put any in.
Plots were not marked out and there was no lighting at nightfall
Site was near a busy road with traffic noise all night.
Facilities were poor and 36. 50 a night was extreme and had there been another site nearby I would not have stayed, but around Bordeaux I was struggling to find a site.
Next night I found a municipal site in the Sarthe region for 12. 50 euros with far superior facilities.
My advice give this site a miss.
