Excellent campsite with immaculate facilities. The owner, James was there to welcome us and take us to our pitch which was slightly sloped but this wasn't a problem.
We has booked electric hookup for a large tent with 2 adults. Pitch sizes are big and there were no other tents on site during our stay. Views across the fields to the black mountains, beautiful.
Campsite and facilities were immaculate. We have been camping for 8 years and never stayed on a site that was so well kept with immaculately clean facilities. Couldn't fault anything ! James came round the site checking if everything was ok, he truly wanted to make sure everyone was having a good stay.
COVID measures were in place all over the park to keep everyone safe.
There was access from the campsite to walks and we walked into Hay on Wye which was about a 40 minute walk away, along the River Wye for some of the way.
Hay on Wye is a lovely town with an abundance of book shops. Plenty of cafes, bars and restaurants to suit everyones taste.
We will definitely return again and have booked for a short stay in June and July

A site we'll happily return to. Lovingly kept by James, beautifully presented down to every detail, even frequent helpful direction signs on the walk via a section of Offa's Dyke down to the R. Wye.
Plenty of anti-bac dispensers wired to fence, eg by shared water taps.
Hard standings, grass standings, and grass field below for tents.
Very handy for Hay-on-Wye, (bookshops and much more), and in lovely countryside, with that eponymous view of the Black Mountains.
Facilities were still closed, but were being prepared - confident they'd be in excellent order.
While it's just next to the A road, and we were moderately aware of it at times, it was very peaceful at night, could have been miles from anywhere.
Appeared child friendly, but we had no children with us to test this!

James was so helpful and friendly. Couldn’t do enough for us. Even put caravan straight for us.
Stayed with my husband mom and three dogs. He didn’t mind them at all. Lovely views and good walks.
Toilets and showers were closed but didn’t matter to us.
Negative was slightly over priced.

Wow - what a site. Views are amazing, James and the staff are super friendly and James goes out of his way to ensure that everyone on the site is having the best experience.
We arrived 4 days before the late Bank Holiday so had the campsite to ourselves. We asked for a pitch with a view and away from the crowds which were expected and we got that. The site was very busy over the Bank holiday but we never had to queue for toilets or showers ( which were kept very clean during our time there).
Beautiful views over towards Hay-on-Wye and the Black Mountains. Easy 45 minute walk into Hay with nice pubs and places to eat. Co-op in Hay that is an easy drive from the site and Brecon Beacons a lovely drive away.
Only negative is the road noise but that can’t be helped and all the other positives make up for it. We sat out and watched the stars one evening which were amazingly beautiful - even saw a couple of shooting stars 🌠.
It’s not a big site but that’s what we love and James is a genial host - we will be back!

Just returned from a 6 night stay at this fabulous little site. The views are amazing and it’s location is great for walking, we actually managed Pen-Y-Fan.
James is welcoming and friendly and willing to share his local knowledge of the area. Viv and her hubby keep the shower block and dishwashing area absolutely spotless.
Some people mention busy road nearby but you’re more likely to be woken by the sheep and cows than traffic!
We will definitely be visiting again.

Wow what a site. The views of the black mountains from the site are fantastic even inspired us to go and climb Hey Bluff because it was there.
The facilities are spotless and purpose built not a conversion and the owners James and Nerys are very helpful. It certainly deserves a visit if you are looking for some good walks.
Lots of walking information in the tourist information in Hay if you want a little piece of heaven then book now.

Top Class ! As simple as that. James, the site owner, was very helpful, polite, and customer caring, nothing too much trouble for him. Easy going person, and good sense of humour. Toilets and showers very clean with the site itself first class.
Great for the families with kids to run about and have fun in the large field and at the same time peaceful for the campers on an adult only break also.
Easy 45 minute walk into Hay on Wye, and a good local pub with good food about a mile down the road. Would strongly recommend, and will definitely return, next time with our Grandchildren.

I spent 2 nights here and really enjoyed the peace and quiet and also the setting that this site is located within. Any where you are pitched on this site affords you great views of the surrounding mountains. The site is well maintained, the shower and toilet block are good and it also has a covered area for dish washing. Hay on Wye is a 30 minute walk from the campsite which joins a section of the Offas Duke path into town. Plenty of pubs, cafes and chip shops to choose from. James the owner is very friendly and can give you all the local information you require. Would I come here again ? Most definitely.

This was our fourth visit to this lovely little site, we come back for a weekend every year. We have stayed here both alone and with friends in other caravans and one of the static rentals.
The fact that we keep returning says it all really and I can only echo the positive reviews left by others.
Lovely site with amazing views of the Black Mountains, James is the friendliest most helpful host ever, clean facilities, fantastic walk through the fields into Hay, easy to find and access, great communication with James via e-mail prior to arrival.
Hay itself is a charming little town that I adore wandering around. Perfect for those of us that enjoy life at a relaxed pace and like arts, crafts, antiques and, of course, books. A Plethora of cafes and many of them dog-friendly. Further afield you can walk along Offas Dyke path and the Black Mountains. The Brecon Beacons are within reach and well worth the drive if you enjoy hiking and walking. Kayaking down the river looks fun but we have never indulged in it as we always have our dogs with us when we stay.

Excellent site, very well kept with spotless facilities. All EHU's have a TV aerial point so remember to take a long co-ax cable. Beautiful views of the Black Mountains. Easy walk over fields and along the Wye into Hay. The owner, James, is very helpful, guiding my reversing the caravan into the perfect position. Easy access into nearby Hay-on-Wye. We stayed her for three nights to visit the Hay festival. We're looking forward to returning. It is a gem of a site.
