What a delightful site! Welcoming hosts ensured our pitch was suitable and we settled in very quickly. My husband enjoyed a quiet days fishing catching most species as described in their write up.
Very tranquil and peaceful with only the sound of birds and wind rustling through the trees. It was good fun watching the ducks go to and fro the fishing lake.
We will certainly be going again and will try our tent next time we visit and very much look forward to visiting this site again. A big thankyou to our hosts from James and Karen

This is a delightful site. It has basic facilities, but no toilet block as yet. It is peaceful and quiet, with no traffic noise, but with plenty of birdsong and the quack and cluck of farmyard fowl.
The towns of Sutton on Sea, Mablethorpe and Skegness are close by and if you want to eat out, there is a good pub about a mile away.
The host and hostess are welcoming and helpful and full of local knowledge.

Barbara, Graham and Twinkle the dog. August 3-10 2013
Beautiful caravan in a lovely peaceful setting with glorious sunsets.
The owners were very welcoming and the caravan was fitted out with everything you could need.
We were happy holiday makers surrounded by happy chickens, ducks, geese and all in a beautiful tranquil setting.
Very central countryside location with both seaside and picturesque villages all within easy reach.
Well recommended and will come back next year.

Having just spent a delightful weekend at Cottage Waters I have to agree with all the previous reviewer's comments. This site is a real delight if you want to chill out or do a spot of fishing in their private lake.
The site consists of two large fields separated along 2/3rds of their length by a tall hedge of bushes and trees. The fields are also surrounded by hedges. At the end of the dividing hedge the two fields become one and is the area for the fishing lake. The overall effect is to make the site visually very attractive and gives the impression of being right in the country, which you are.
As well as being close to the Lincolnshire coastal resorts there are plenty of well sign-posted cycle routes for the more energetic though some of the lanes around the site are very narrow. There are no shops in the villages of Cumberworth or Mumby but there is a pub, The Red Lion, in Mumby which also sells food.
Alford is only about 5 miles away, has a good selection of shops, takeaways etc and there's plenty of parking spaces too and it only cost £1:50 for four hours. At one end of Alford there is a five sail working windmill which is open to the public and next to the Manor House is a small rural museum but it's not open on Saturdays.
On site there is a shed which has a small selection of preserves, sweets and eggs for sale plus information brochures for local attractions. There is also a fridge/freezer in the shed but it wasn't in use at the time though I believe they have plans to use it for milk, ice creams, lollipops etc.
The owners are very friendly and helpful and are keen to take on board suggestions from campers as to what they can do to make their site even better. This is definitely a site I'll happily return to.
NB: For caravanners' it is worth looking at the map and if possible approaching from the Mumby side (A52) as the approach road the other way is very narrow and winding.

Just got back from a week in the static van, lovely clean van and very comfortable, the owners are lovely people and very welcoming and easy to chat to.
The site is very clean, no toilets or showers as yet, but are in the pipeline.
It is a very quiet and peaceful site and would strongly recommend it to anyone. The fishing pond is very good, always catch a fish and they are in pristine condition.
I will definitely be going back again.

After impulsively deciding that we fancied some time away, we ended up at Cottage Waters not quite knowing what to expect.
The site is set in a beautiful part of the Lincolnshire countryside and is both spacious and sheltered. The sculpted fishing pond lends an idyllic air to the scenery, and induces almost immediate relaxation.
The owner was warm and friendly from our first encounter to the last - even to the extent that when we decided to extend our stay she was happy to recharge our iPad!
I would highly recommend this site to anybody who just wants to get away from it all and chill out whilst at the same time having the option of making the short journey towards the bright lights of Skegness!
We will most definitely be returning.

This is our second visit to this site in a month. The site is in a rural setting and is very peaceful. There is an abundance of wildlife, rabbits, birds and deer ( although unfortunately we did not see one). Mabelthorpe, Skegness, Sutton on Sea and Chapel St Leonard's are all within easy reach, as is the small town of Alford. There are several pubs within a short drive that are child and pet friendly.
Lovely level grass covered site with plenty of space between the pitches, some with electric hookup on a card meter. There are currently no shower or toilet facilities, but we were made aware of this before we visited, however the owners have told us they do have plans to install some in the future.
The owners are very helpful, and cannot do enough for you, and their little dog Smudge became firm friends with our dog Ozzie. Michelle keeps free range chickens and sells delicious free range eggs.
At the bottom end of the site there is a small fishing pond with two islands, which is well stocked with small tench, carp, barbel, roach and rudd. Occasionally the pond produces larger fish, my husband has had an eight pound plus ghost carp on our most recent visit.
A lovely place to come for a peaceful break, we will definitely visit again in the near future.

Myself and my family have stopped here for five nights, we have had a very enjoyable stay,
The owners have been great, can't do enough for you, helped us with fishing as we have never done it before,
We highly recommend cottage waters if you want a relaxing holiday.
The campsite is very central to a lot of places should you wish to visit skeg, chapel etc,
We will certainly be returning here again as my son does not want to leave !

We stayed here for 2 nights, We went mainly for the fishing and we had 2 very good days (despite the weather). They do have chickens and duck running wild which is nice to see.
We did take our dog for free (they must be kept on a lead due to the wild life). There is no toilet block on site but we were made aware of this when booking.
There is a pub down the road that serves food if you didn’t feel like cooking. The owners were very nice and helpful, all in all its a very nice peaceful site if you are looking to get away from it all.
We will definitely be going back soon (hopefully).

We stayed in the owners static caravan which was great. Full central heating and double glazing and we needed the heat a couple of times as we had sunshine, overcast, downpours of rain and gale force winds.
My children loved the fishing lake and we spent most of our time there. The owners are lovely and nothing is too much trouble for them. The site is lovely and peaceful, down winding country lanes.
We saw the barn owl hunting, saw goslings and baby moorhens and even got up early enough to see rabbits in the field. We usually camp in a tent and will definitely come back when toilets and showers are installed.
We didn't get to test the food at the local pub but we did get a chinese take away from Alford which was delicious. We popped along to Mablethorpe to get some fishing bits and pieces and also visited the nearby Donkey Sanctuary which also has 2 zedonks (cross between zebra and donkey).
All in all a fantastic week and the weather didn't spoil it for us. Relaxing and peaceful.
