We have just spent a lovely week at this site and will most certainly be returning again. The site is everything it claims to be and owners Sarah and Ian were very friendly and welcoming. There were several others caravans and tents there but it was still very peaceful and quiet and the fact that there is only one toilet on site was certainly not a problem. The pitches are well spaced out and recycling bins are provided at each pitch.
Both Children and adults had a great time helping to feed the goats, sheep and pigs and Sarah and Ian were very patient and made sure all the children had a turn at bottle feeding the kids. A Great experience!
There is plenty of space for walking dogs and if you want to you can enjoy a paddle in the river.

Just returned from a one night stop over at Wookey Farm, which we found via this website. What a great site! Obviously no other tents there (at this time of year) - had the field more or less to ourselves. Flat site, farm, good hedges, electric hook up available to all pitches, portaloo facilities (which might get a bit congested in high season). Very clean and tidy site.
Quiet location - kept awake by the hoot of owls!
A gem of a place if you want to get away from it all. Close enough to market towns of Somerset Levels - Wells, Glastonbury, Street, Cheddar etc.

My partner and I were allowed to arrive very late on Monday night and as it was a week day were lucky enough to have this beautiful lush field all to ourselves.
The owners were friendly and helpful, especially when our car battery died and we needed a jump start! We also got a £5 voucher for the local pub when we paid, which was about a 10 minute walk away in the village.
The site is flat and well drained with about 11 pitches all with electric hook ups.
The facilities are basic and I can see that one portaloo could be a problem if all the pitches were occupied. However it is the cleanest portaloo I’ve ever seen and it adds to the low impact, sustainability feel of the site.
The other facilities include a water tap, a place to put chemical toilet waste and recycling boxes. The goats were delightful and not smelly at all.
Only suggestions would be that a cheaper price could be offered to people not using the electric hook-ups and a clearer sign to the camping area that can be seen at in the dark.
Overall this is a beautiful site that I would definitely recommend.

We stayed here for two nights and had an amazing time. The pitches are huge and all of the are completely flat which rarely happens on a camp site! We paid £10 for our tent which was for two adults, two children and one dog.
Our niece visited us on the campsite and she ended up staying with us using her little pup tent for which we paid £5, this is outstanding value.
The kids loved the rope swings over the river, feeding the goats and having lots of safe open space to play in.
We all enjoyed the camp fire, it is quite hard to believe the wood was free. We only camp where you can have fires and have paid uo to eight pound for a very small bag of wood at other sites.
We will visit this site again, it is in a beautiful part of the country.

What a lovely site, £10 a night for 2 adults 2 children and a caravan. We where really pleased with the price and even more pleased to find this included electric !
The pitches are massive you could easily fit two tents in one pitch, lovely views, and you are free to wander down to the next field by the river there are some rope swings down there for the kids.
They allow campfires and there is a large space at the bottom of the field where you can have a big fire together or have your own if your not feeling sociable. They even give you the wood !
The owners where lovely they let the children help feeding the goats and chickens our children loved it so much they wanted to stay longer.
We wanted to visit the area and this is a great base for Wells 5 mins drive away, Glastonbury 10 mins drive, Cheddar Gorge 20 mins and Wookey hole 10 mins.
If you have children wookey hole is great costs £49 for a family ticket but so much to do we where there all day!
There are no showers but there is a swimming baths just down the road!
There is one portaloo sound awfull but it wasn't it even had fresh flowers and air fresheners.
This is a new campsite but well worth a visit

On arrival we were met by the owner who welcomed us and directed us to our pitch. For a basic campsite you couldn't ask for more, the owners were very friendly and helpful.
We arrived in time to pitch our tent and partake in feeding the goats, and chickens. The portaloo was clean and well stocked of loo rolls and nice touch of flowers, hand wash and a towel. The tyre swings were great fun. The views of the Mendips were stunning.
Not far from Wells town where there is a tescos and plenty of site seeing. Wookey Hole is nearby. In the village there is a pub which serves food, large portions so don't have a starter unless you are very hungry. The landlord was very friendly and offered us a lift when the heavens opened back to the site.
I would recommend to anyone who does not mind not having access to showers etc. We will definitely go back again.

We have just returned from a fantastic time in a field in the depths of 'The Land of The Summer People'. I asked for sunshine when I called to book our pitch and we got it by the bucket load.
I was looking for a campsite for four of us, my friend, myself and two boys a teenager and a 7yr old, plus two dogs. I also wanted to be able to build camp fires.
This place was great and everyone had a fantastic time. It was a very peaceful site in a beautiful rural setting. The fact that it was on a working 'Goat Farm' made it all the more exciting for us.
The farmers made us feel really welcome and we were able to have a very hands on and educational experience with goat care at feeding time.
The children on the campsite loved this and so did the adults. There was no smell or noise from the goats at all, which was a concern of my teenager.
The children loved the freedom of paddling and splashing in the river and playing on rope and tyre swings along the riverbank - this made a great change from video games and TV.
The dogs thoroughly enjoyed themselves too. The facilities are basic, but the website for the site makes this quite clear so there are no surprises.
Our only negative was the toilet. Another one or even two portable loos would be great. On a whole though this was fantastic value for money and we all want to go again.

This is a very basic site on a working goat farm. The pitches are very large and level and you can have open campfires with free wood.
It is also nice and quiet and ideal for children to feed the goats and just play. There are 2 stand piped for drinking water and a chemical disposal unit plus electric hook up but there is only 1 portable loo for all 15 pitches which this weekend with approx 20 adults and 16 children on site, all in tents, could not cope at all.
There is also no washing up areas with even cold water so everyone was washing up by the stand pipes with food bit all over the soak aways. Not the best on a sunny weekend!
The lack of showers is fine but one portable loo is not enough.

We visited on the may bank holiday having rung round everywhere for a site so was very nervous what the site would actually be like when we got there. Boy was it a pleasant experience.
The site itself is very basic and had only just got electric hook up sorted out but is absolutely stunning. If you are looking for a peaceful site this is the place to go.
We counted a grand total of three cars passing by on the first day we were there! The goat farm is a working farm but so long as you respect this the owners don't mind you walking round and I even got to bottle feed the baby goats, and the owners couldn't be more friendly and helpful.
The site is located about five minutes from wookey hole and ten minutes from cheddar gorge where we can recommend the local cider around the camp fire. We would also recommend a walk along the river which runs through the camp site as the wildlife and views are spectacular. We enjoyed it so much we are going back this weekend.
The only thing that would let the site down are the toilet facilities and lack of shower but we are going armed with a solar shower this time and believe for the price per night and lovely experience its worth a second visit
