We have spent a week on this wonderful site. We were met with a tray of tea for 2 when we arrived. The staff could not have been more helpful and friendly, we arrived with vehicle problems and the owner spent ages trying to find the trouble, even let us use the site car for the week. Great place. Will go back again for certain. Don't be put off by the approach through the streets the end result is fantastic

Arriving at Leobay in the rain, we were met by Steve who made us very welcome. We where made a lovely cup of tea[made in a teapot]and sat in the seating area looking over the site. As we were first to arrive on site were given the choice were to park. The site is small but is very clean and tidy. The showers and toilet are in a large caravan. 2showers and 2 toilets, also in caravan are a table and chairs, cooker, washing machine and tumble dryer for the use of the campers, if needed. There are no shops within walking distance but 5mins gets you to a shop. We took our dog who had a great time on his walks just outside the gate. All in all a great little site, really could not think of any negatives.

A friendly conveniently located campsite (just 40 mins from home) for me.
Daisy the dog & I chose Leobay for our maiden trip in our newly converted campervan & we were not disappointed. The test revealed that I need to be tidy at all times & get more hooks and hangers.
I found a peaceful friendly site (if a bit tricky to find without a map (my fault I know)) where we could relax and enjoy the views and a beautiful sunset, yes the sun was shining.
I don't really want to be too kind as they only have five pitches and I really would like the place to myself, but that would be unfair to the team after all their hard work to get the site as beautiful as it is.
Cant wait to go for a boat trip (provided by the site) around the island.
Sooper dooper.

WOW. What a great site run by some fantastic people. They cannot do enough for you We stayed 3 nights and wish we could have stayed longer. Lovely views and a great site. As you can imagine it is almost perfect as the owners are caravanners themselves and have based site on what their ideal site would be. Approach is up an unmade road but the site is well worth the journey. Will visit again and recommend the site to everyone. To top it all they love dogs also.

We have just returned from a really lovely relaxing if not cold (due to the weather not facilities) weekend. We stayed here for two nights with another family and even though they only had space for one unit allowed us to squeeze on next to them. We thought the facilities were excellent, I loved the converted static caravan for the shower/toilets which are decorated really well and best of all lovely and warm. We also made use of the sitting area as this was somewhere warm for the kids to wait whilst we got the caravans up and running.
The owners have also built a lovely barbecue area with a chiminea which was made use of by the men folk who were mad enough to sit outside in the below freezing temperature.
The actual setting of the site overlooks the sea which is really nice to watch especially when a large boat sails by.
The owners were really friendly and attentive and keen that we had everything we needed. Steve even went above and beyond on our final day when we discovered that our car battery had gone flat over the weekend and generously helped out resulting in lending us a battery to get us home.
Overall we had a really enjoyable stay and I look forward to returning in warmer weather and enjoying the outdoor facilities.

We stayed at leo bay on the 28 July for a weeks holiday, wow what a
Fantastic place to be. It felt just like home, with Sheila and Steve making
You feel so welcome, it was like we had known them for ever, nothing was to much trouble, and they were always happy to help in any way they could.
Nice quiet site with amazing views and sunsets. The gardens are full of flowers and shrubs which look incredible, and due to the hard work of Sheila, Carol and Lee.
We will definitely be going back to see what they will be doing next. So thanks for our best holiday yet.

This was our second outing to Leobay. And wow what a transformation!
The site now has a unit dedicated for campers, this has 2 toilets and showers, along with cooking facilities, washing machine, tumble dryer and dining table! All free use for the campers, yes you did read right free! We did have to question if t was ok, but yes, there is a static unit that has been converted for this sole purpose.
The pitches themselves now have much easier access, and have all been sectioned off with their own little (not actually that little to be honest) garden grass patch.
There is now a new summer kitchen (when we get one) that houses BBQ and pizza oven along with food prep areas and seating, all under cover and all with fantastic views.
We stayed when the weather was not so kind, but the site is very sheltered being on a slop, but the hard standing pitches are all very level and makes pitching very easy.
The owners seriously have worked hard here, there is so much floral display you need to see it to believe it, and they are planting fruit trees etc for home grown produce, that you can buy on site!
This is not what you';d expect from a CL site, so if your looking for a field with hook up, your in for a pleasant surprise.
The whole family loves it so much we have booked numerous stays through out the year, as it has everything we need without the stuff we don't and remains so peaceful you really do forget where you are.
The local shops are short walk, and there is plenty of local life to explore, and I hear a new marina is going ahead so that I am sure is set to bring in new business.
Dog walkers & walkers alike as said before, will love it as you can literally set off and loose yourself.
We took the boys crabbing on the beech, something I'd never done, but what a hoot and a big thank you to Steve the owner for his time, and his expertise as they all came away successfully catching a crab. Or 7!
We have a huge unit, a twin axle and 26+ feet and although the approach is narrow, it soon widens up top the entrance, this approach road is private, so you don't get hardly any traffic at all, so no probs with meeting oncoming traffic.
My only gripe is I can't spend more time here, so please don't come here. Would hate to phone up and find they're fully booked when I do!

Just returned from a 3 night stay at leobay. Great location, although a little difficult on the last part, up the hill on small track.
Very helpful owners, with a cup of tea soon as we landed, lots of room on the hard-standing and grass area.
Shower and toilet in a caravan, very clean, and plenty of free hot Water, + washing up facilities. Steve is in the middle of a new toilet and showers.
Lots of places to visit minster, about 5miles away on the coast was our fav. The flying dutchman pub about 20 minutes walk, was really good for food, 2 main meals for £9. 00
The site is open all year round. At £10 including hook up a snip, we will

Just come back from spending a week here. The approach to this site is not the prettiest but when you get there it is worth it as the view over the estuary is lovely. The owners are really nice, they were there when we arrived and could not have been more helpful. This site has not been open all that long and they welcome any constructive suggestions to improve the site. The road is tight for trying to pitch your van without going on the grass, but they told us this is going to be rectified. They are going to put in toilets and showers (although this did not bother us) in the near future. It has only got 10 amp electric but not much of a problem and is only £10 per night all in, although we were told it will probably be £12 when shower and toilets are ready. Overall we would tell anyone who likes peace and quite and friendly owners to give it a go.

This was our first venture away from the Usual CC and Commercial sites, and to be honest, Queenborough was the last place I'd thought we'd end up spending Bank Holiday weekend at. BUT. Soooo glad we did.
LeoBay is a little oasis of paradise. The site is tucked away where you would struggle to find it without guidance, something that Steve and Sheila are all to welcome to do. This really does mean your in for a real quiet nights sleep and no passing cars, traffic bikes etc so fantastic for children.
Once there your greeted by a fantastic view across the river, and from here we could see all the way to Southend, and at night, it's truly a picture one has to see to believe.
The site is new, and is still under going massive changes and improvements, but the owners are keen to listen to all inputs, as they are keen vanner's too, and are more interested in pleasing visitors than just turning a quick profit.
The current shower/toilet is in the static van, this is clean and well presented, and an added bonus as we believed most CL sized sites have none. Talking to the owners it turns out there is a new one currently undergoing a refit, this will include both male and female bathrooms/showers, washing machine, cooker, sink, fridge and freezers and a small stock selection of bread, milk etc, all centrally heated for those cold winter nights away.
All 5 pitches are gravel and have had special drainage installed to do away with flooding and water logged pitches! They are on slight slopes, but this is something that again, the owners are planning to sort over the winter periods to make pitching easier! Is there no end to these peoples energy. We expected and grass field and levelling blocks and be told to get on with it!
Steve is considering installing digital tv points to all 5 as well as a long list of potential additions, these people really are out to make your stay really warm and welcome.
We took our 3 boys and they loved it! There are fantastic walks for all around here, something we had never thought the Island could offer.
On sunday night, a free BBQ was arranged for all the visitor's and was a lovely way to spend the evening, this is what we had been missing as normally we are sat in the van with the TV on!
We enjoyed our 3 nights so much, we didn't go home. We stayed and made it another holiday and the kids were really sad to leave, but we have booked our return for October, and can't wait. We've never been made to feel so welcome in all of our vanning trips!
This small little site is a fantastic find, and really worth a visit, and at CL prices we can afford to go again and again and not break the bank.
