I wish I could say there was nothing wrong with this site and that I'd love to visit again, but we had 3 tents between us and it seemed to take all afternoon to pitch as the ground was so hard that it was bending all of our pegs, and broke one of our mallets. The warden was trying to be helpful by lending us one of his hammers.(we soon found out that we had actually been put onto caravan pitches and was probably the reason the ground was so terrible!)
The shed/toilet & showers were in need of a good clean, sweep and dust to remove small pieces of rubbish on the floors and cobwebs, I was even greeted by a small newt one evening when I was using the toilet!
The warden was friendly and seemed happy to help and would always say hello. We had a good week and would recommend it for caravan users as it seemed we were the odd ones out with our tents, and the people in the static caravans all seemed to know each other and nobody was enforcing the rules of quiet between 11pm and 7am as on several occasions some were up til gone 2am showing no respect for other people sleeping, being loud and drinking outside their caravans.

The warden was friendly!
We enjoyed our stay here as were staying in the area to meet up with family who live there.
Although the ground was terrible trying to peg your awning down etc. Also could do with levelling up as we were in a slight dip & when it rained it was flooding in our awning. We was in a nice spot though right on the edge of the creek.
The toilets were ok but basic!
There's a lot of residential tourers on the site, so it didn't seem to have the holiday atmosphere! there's a nice pub at the top of the lane the yew tree pub & the Chinese takeaway across the road from the pub do a great curry!

This is the first time we have used this campsite. The 5 of us had a great time, weather was great. The campsite is very basic. Showers, toilets and washing up sinks clean with plenty of hot water. There is a small play ground which my 3 children enjoyed and made plenty of friends.
Could not park the car next to our pitch, it was not far to walk to, tents a little to close to each other.
There is a nice pub in walking distance which served food and another a little further down the road. The nearby shop abit expensive, we used to drive to the sommerfields garage. Had to use the car quite a lot to get anywhere eg beach, fair, shops. Would use this site again very friendly

The warden was friendly.
The owner came round at 2 am on a noisy quad to check if people had paid.
They charged for our boat even though the tides were wrong and we could not launch.
The toilets seemed old and would have benefited from a clean sometimes that week.
When we visited the storms were in full flow so maybe giving us a pitch in a hollow was a mistake. One that could have turned us into regular customers had my pointing this out when asking for some sort of refund not been treated as if I was cracking a joke.

We stayed here for 3 nights at the beginning of May. Had a wonderful time, Chris and Martin were great wardens, always on hand to help. Toilets and showers are basic but clean. Small site shop that sold ice creams and that's about all. We have booked to come back bank holiday August for 4 nights.

Site not to bad. Long term caravans are the main some, pitches with electric. Tent area for just turn up. Little expensive for what you get £24 a night all in. Showers old but clean. If you have a boat great when its high tide as there is a slipway to launch. There is noise at night as tents don't have walls Some families seem to forget this. I would go back again, but be a little concerned about night time noise.

We visited this site for two nights and were very pleased to leave! On arrival we were met by 'Colin' the site manager who seemed somewhat disorganised. Unfortunately there are no ball games allowed which was a big disappointment to our three young children. The playground was very old. The washing facilities were our biggest problem. They were filthy!

I remember going here as a child back in the 80's we used to camp there every year. We always had great times there even though I have been to more moden sites this one has a certain thing.
When me and a friend went to the international festival of the see a few years ago we camped there because it was the bank holiday we ended up with all the caravans the people there were friendly and the caravan next to our tent even offered to freeze our cool box packs for us.
Always found this site great for visiting the local are because it is vertually in the midle and with Portsmouth just down the road its easy and the prices are cheep.
Even though the campsite is quite basic compaired to your all singing and dancing ones I always found the amenaties very clean and the newish toilet block has helped alot(dont know when is was built but not there in the 80's)
All in all a very enjoyable time plan to go again next week hopefuly if they have any spaces left

July-Aug 2003 We had a great time at Fleet farm and Colin, who manages the site was great, he was very accommodating for our children who have some health problems.
The children loved it here and although there aren't any clubs/pubs/entertainment on site it was great if like us you just wanted a quiet base for the holiday.
I did have to watch my younger children with the inlet at high tide but everyone at the site was very friendly and more than willing to keep an eye out for each other and the children.
There is plenty to do with out any really long treks, especially with the Hayling Island fair close by and the beach, also the ferry from Hayling Island is only 5 mins away by car and you can travel over to Portsmouth (foot passengers only) every 30 mins where there is a great deal to see and do...including Gunwharf Quays for anyone getting withdrawal syptoms from retail therapy!
We are definitely going back this year!

August 2003 We chose this site because our first choice was fully booked. It was easy to find, and all we wanted was what their site promised - 'The site has level, sheltered, marked pitches'. The ground would have been at home in the middle of the Alps, and no markings were to be seen. Considering we pre-booked I would have thought we would have got a decent pitch but we were plonked as an after thought in a rough corner next to the payground.
The facilities were good and there are showers not mentioned on the website. The Creek was nice and the setting wooded.
