As a basic campsite to visit the antique centre this was ideal. 2 fields, slightly sloping but no marked pitches. We had to move from the first field after one day as it was required for a private rally.
A marquee close by is used for events, we saw a funeral and 3 children's parties with accompanying cars parked in the same field as us, plus music etc.
2 toilets and 2 showers per gents and ladies were housed in very basic portakabins but were cleaned regularly.
John & Suzi were very pleasant and helpful and there was certainly a lot of dealers stalls to browse around. The Granary was also filled on 3 floors with antique dealers and they had a pleasant tea shop on the top 4th floor.
We enjoyed our weekend, but would probably not stay again.

Basic site tucked behind the antiques centre in front of a garden nursery.
Lots of shops to look around, a few cafes and pubs and a tap room in the antiques centre itself.
Facilities very basic and grubby when we visited, plus some noisy building going on at the nursery - think they were also using the site loos?
Onsite security great.
Good run into Southend.
Overall a quiet, secure stay for a couple of nights.

Nice site. John was very helpful on arrival.
The site has an on site security guard (Tony) which is reassuring.
The pitches were all level and well maintained.
The toilets and shower blocks look a bit tired from the outside but they are really well cleaned inside.
There's plenty to do within walking distance and we will definitely stay again.

Good size site right by massive antiques centre.
Easy to find with great little tap house and two pubs nearby within walking distance. John is really friendly as are the local traders.
Site quite basic with limited facilities and dark at night, probably great in summer but no hardstandings and field was quite muddy in places.
Good weekend though nonetheless.

Lovely campsite well positioned for antique shops/ pubs/ cafes.
Friendly people, nice atmosphere, facilities basic but fees low to reflect this.
Would definitely stay again.

What an interesting place to stay. Antiques shops everywhere and so lucky to pick a night when they had a classic car breakfast meeting the next morning.
Only negative was “John, put some signage to your camp site please”
Found it by accident. First timers have to drive through the antique shop arcade to more confusion.
Otherwise very memorable stay and a reasonable price.

Very friendly people and great pub and antiques shops in short walking distance.
Good location and relaxed atmosphere.
Not regimented like some sites.

Great spot and very friendly staff. No airs and graces site just how I like it with basic but adequate facilities.
Loved pottering around the quirky shops and felt safe knowing the security guard was always around.

A quiet gem of a place, tucked away in the heart of Essex.
Situated behind a fantastic antiques, curios, and bric a brac village, with its own brilliantly friendly bar, not to mention the other two pubs within 2 minutes walk, a London main line station 200 yds up the road and Southend on sea just 15mins drive away.
Facilities are basic but clean. And the welcome is friendly with John being really helpful.
Look forward to staying there again soon
