Site appearance is well kept and has a lovely view of the sea but only in certain areas and it appeared that the main view was covered by statics and touring caravans which are permanently located there.

The site is basic which is what we wanted, but even so, the toilet and shower facilities were quite frankly shocking.

The site was advertised as a family friendly site but we did not find this the case. There was no area for the children to play in between the sardine packed fields and the 10 minute walk into Polperro town was more like half an hour with children down an extremely dangerous narrow country lane.

The site lacked the buzz and friendliness of most other local campsites, even the small ones and although seemed cheap, for the quality of the site, a few extra quid up the road will get you much better value for your money.

A real disappointment, would not return.

Beautiful views. Toilets and Shower facilities very poor, only one for each gender and not the cleanest we have been to.

Owners not over friendly and would definitely not recommend this site to families with children as no ball games allowed, and children not allowed to run about.

Polperro itself is fantastic, however the walk from the site to the town was difficult down a very steep and winding line so had to call a taxi to take us back.

Ideal for single people who do not want any facilities, definitely not for families.

Stopped one night as just a stopover before travelling further north. Shower/toilet block for ladies is 2 toilets and one shower, not as clean as other sites I've visited, but the 3 portaloos that were on the extra field where we camped were very clean. Lovely views of the countryside. Didnt meet wardens etc as other half went to the main house to pay for our pitch. And they didn't come up to see us. Long way up from Polperro village and if walking down to the village be prepared for the long hill climb back up. Camped when it was raining and due to being high up there was quite a few bugs, slugs, flies etc. The pitches are pretty flat and we didn't have any problems with our tent. We had the field for tents but there was also a field which had quite a few caravans. There was a laundry room and a sink to wash up.

Stayed for 2 nights following torrential rain throughout Devon & Cornwall. Despite this field was lush and appears to have good drainage.

Chose site as it's the closest to Polperro - approx 3/4 mile to Crumplehorn, or a 15 minute leisurely stroll downhill - Taxi back!

Pre-booked a couple of weeks before, and owner rang to ask me to telephone as we approached the area, so as her husband could meet us in Pelynt and chaperone us through the narrow lanes to the farm (A nice and welcome gesture).

As arranged contacted, and was duly met by John, (site owner) in Pelynt. He guided us to the site and showed us personally to our pitch, which had a lovely sea view.

Facilities on site adequate, clean and well-maintained, albeit a little limited.

Lovely (6 mile) walk along the coastal path to Looe - Bus back!

In summary a nice quiet site, run by lovely & helpful people. Would recommend & will definitely return.

After much searching for a campsite to beat an amazing one we went to last year we decided on Great Kellow for 10 days. Walking distance to pub - check, dogs allowed - check, no campfires but you can't have it all.

On arriving we were told to pitch anywhere in the middle of the field which was not a good sign. We ended up in a middle of a field surrounded by caravans with a view of the sea which went every time someone pitched on our doorstep. Not a problem for some people perhaps but it's nice to be against a hedge for a little shelter and privacy when camping for 10 days. The site is very manicured so if you like more rugged camping then this is not for you.

There was one shower for men and one for women which was no where near enough with many of the permanent caravans also having to share with the 20 other tents. The facilities were always clean but the shower was never more than a dribble which is extremely frustrating especially if you have long hair.

Finally no facilities for ice blocks, essential if you are in a tent for 10 days and want so much as a cup of tea! We were able to leave them at the house when they were in but on a number of occasions couldn't get them back as there was no one home - ended up going to the local shop for a bag of ice, another frustration.

The location is great with a short walk into Polperro which is a beautiful fishing villages with pubs and restaurants galore.

Sadly we will not be back, this site may be ok for a night or two as most people seemed to do but for 10 days and the amount of people they allow on site, the facilities are simply not up to scratch.

Love this site. The sea view is beautiful, the site itself is very simple and quiet. Pretty flat camp ground.

The owners are very generous, relaxed and sociable, price was very reasonable the facilities were campsite basic and very clean.

The campsite is a short walk to polperro but a very steep short walk on return. Some pubs, cafes and restaurants in Polperro. The only pub worth its salt is the Blue Peter. They know how to run a pub and make you feel special (even though your not).

Nice, quiet campsite with free shower and an electrical point for hairdryers. Friendly owners. Was quite quiet when we were there mid-May. Only one shower for each sex. Can imagine queues for shower when busy.

Nice to have handwash in toilet and washing up liquid was provided in dishwashing area. Sea view. We paid £10 for two adults (no charge for our dog) which we felt very reasonable.

A bit of a hike down to Polperro (and more so on the way back uphill) but it's worth it as it's such a pretty village. Enjoyed great beer at the Blue Peter and the Crumplehorn.

Had a nice boat trip from Polperro round to Fowey where the owner of the boat dropped us off at Polruan for a coast path walk back. The purpose of our stay was to continue with South West Coast Path walking from Looe to Polruan and we were ideally situated for it.

Set on top of a hill, narrow lane to site. Friendly owner. About 15 minute walk to Polperro down a steep hill. Basic site - with 1shower for each sex.

Campsite is on a working beef farm, grass pitches with lovely views. Polperro has many nice pubs, lovely floor in the Blue Peter inn. Nice coastal walk to looe.

Polperro is a very beautiful town, all pubs are dog friendly. The crumplehorn inn is at the bottom of the steep hill, just remember to have a torch for the walk back to the campsite.

We visited in march and weather was good but lots of the shops were closed.

We pitched our tent here on one of the two fields, and were really impressed with the site. The grass is kept nice and short, and the on-site facilities are really clean.

There are cow-fields all around which added a nice country aspect to the visit! Lots of MOOing in the morning!

A nice downhill walk to Polperro for dinner which takes about 15 mins and about 25 mins to walk back up (it is quite steep!). There are taxis in the town though!

The site feels nice and secure and we had no qualms about leaving the tent with all our gear for the day.

In all, A good base to explore east Cornwall, very friendly and no fuss.
