Lovely site with pitches set in a little dell next to the site of a Roman Fort. In spite of small size, pitches are surfaced. Owner is welcoming and provides an information pack. The toilets and showers in a wooden hut but are well appointed and comfortable even including soap and hand towels in the toilets. One of the best sites we visited.
If you are staying here Stirling is well worth a visit for interesting townscape and the castle.

A lovely little, although very rural, nicely laid out site. The owners have put in a lot of hard work to make this site welcoming and its just so peaceful.
Greeted on arrival by Grant with an information pack and advised on where to pitch up.
Water and EHU are on each pitch which is a great plus. Cannot comment on showers etc as used our own.
Grant you kept your promise of sunshine, although it wasn't for all of our stay, what we did get we were grateful for.
A must if you visit this area is the Falkirk Wheel - what an amazing piece of engineering - don't just watch it either - go on it!

Very little to add to the previous reviews. An excellent little site, well maintained and in a tranquil setting. Very nice to have such a good toilet and shower block on a CL site as well as electricity and water supplies on each pitch. The WiFi is good and excellent value at £1 a night.
Very well situated for Stirling, the Falkirk Wheel and the Kelpies and very close to the motorway network.

Just back from a few nights stay at Carrs Hill and site was very pleasant. We were greeted soon after we arrived by the owners on horseback, rather novel. The site is a mix of a 5 van CL site and also then 4 private pitches further down into the site. All were hard standing with the lower pitches having loads of space for caravan, awning ( we didn't put up) and also the car. The lower pitches have a water supply at each one, the CL site has a designated water and grey water facility. The owners were very pleasant and had advised to pick up an information pack as we entered the site. There is a small toilet block that has a split male/ female WC then a shower room in the middle with plenty of space and also loads of hangers for clothing. The end room is the Ladies designated WC ( not sure why the men's is dual use) all were kept lovely and clean. Shower room is a bit cool, but as February there is nothing that the owners can do about it. ! Just get dried quickly that's all ! There is an info room that has lots for the local area and some for farther afield. As written below from 2012, there is not a dish washing facility, but this does not detract from a lovely site. If you want piece and quiet then this is the place. As for children, although we had our daughter with us, there is not really anything much for them to do, but as others have advised the local country park at Plean is only about a mile away and easily walkable on a quiet country road.

Lovely, well kept site. Toilet and shower very clean. Great for visiting Stirling, Falkirk Wheel, Bannockburn. Friendly proprietors but not intrusive. Park and ride to Stirling is recommended but a few miles away. Site is Not convenient for public transport but a lovely, peaceful, well kept site and recommended. We don't have children but they are welcome if well behaved. There are no play facilities though.

Lovely clean site. Grass well trimmed. The owner was measuring up to put a hand rail at the side of the steps which took you up to the shower and toilet(only needed for somebody who was unsteady on their feet). Shower and toilet extremely clean and tidy. The chemical waste area was user-friendly. You poured the waste down an old toilet, after lifting the lid, then flushed the toilet in the usual manner. A hosepipe was adjacent to wash the chemical toilet out, all nicely enclosed with wooden fencing. We will certainly make use of this site again when we visit The Highlands next year. Definitely, one of the cleanest and tidyist sites we have visited this year

On arrival we were greeted by Grant who directed us to our pitch and also gave us an information pack. All pitches were well spaced, hard standing and facing the setting sun. The site was extremely clean and well kept - the lawns and flower borders well tended. The toilet and shower were always clean no matter when you used them. There was also a well stocked information room.
Ideally located for visiting the many attractions in Stirling - Wallace Monument, Stirling Castle and Stirling Jail. We took a drive to Aberfoyle (Queen Elizabeth Forest Park) where I was talked into the 'Go Ape' experience (as advertised in the information room). This is a fantastic place, however I would recommend you book before you go as we had to wait until late afternoon before there was a slot. The park is lovely and well worth an explore - we found a waterfall, some hammocks and some 'mirror people'. Aberfoyle itself is beautiful and we spent a couple of hours browsing and called in for afternoon tea.
A drive to Bridge of Allan is a must - this is a lovely small town with lots of eating places and small shops. There is a micro brewery too which is worth a visit if you like beer - there are plenty to sample and buy.
The Falkirk Wheel is worth a visit - there's plenty there to keep young children entertained.
We hope to return to this site.

There is an excellent review below from Buckingham30 and it is difficult to add much to what is said but it is good to see a recent confirmation of the facilities. Spotless and beautifully maintained, this is one of the best CLs in Scotland. Wifi £1 per night, is good and fast enough to work inside the 'van although we were close to the loo where the router is located. Some CLs are in need of some TLC - this one gets plenty and ticks all the boxes for us. Easy drive to Glasgow/ Edinburgh and Stirling is nearer.
Friendly helpful owners.
Happy to recommend the site.

This is a small site (Certified Location) discreetly situated in rolling countryside south of Stirling. If you are looking for a quiet, basic (in the best sense of the word) site, this one will fulfil your requirements.
We were greeted promptly by the friendly and helpful owner. He gave us instructions about where and how to pitch, and also some guidelines about where things were in the site. We also received a compact, but informative, sheet containing further details of the site.
There is a small facilities block containing a wc & sink, shower cubicle and information room. This was adequate whilst we were staying there, the site being full. There are no dedicated washing up facilities.
There is limited room to exercise dogs on the site, however there is a small wood over the road, but access is via climbing a low wall; this may be rectified in the future, but it is not in the hands of the site owner to do this. Happily there is also a country park about a mile away at Plean with plenty of dog walking space.
There are a few small shops at Plean and also more at Denny, including a co-op and takeaways & pubs etc.
Stirling is about 15-20 minutes' drive away, as is Falkirk. Don't miss a visit to the Falkirk Wheel, with something interesting for all the family, as well as the Antonine wall nearby.
Access to the M80 is reasonable. Don't follow our example and use the sat nav for the last few miles! Follow the directions given by the site.
If you like a busy nightlife and entertainment, please don't book here. However, if you like nature, fresh air and peace & quiet, don't hesitate to stay here.
We intend to return.
