This is a fantastic state of the art site, and has numerous free activities. It is beautifully situated and has panoramic views of the Shropshire landscape. Love2stay has the best dog walk area I have ever experienced. The reception block houses the eatery and staff are very friendly and helpful.
The pool area is well-designed and has plenty of seating, the bean bags are extremely comfy. The Glamping area is situated between the pool and touring pitches and we had a look in one of the lodges. Luxurious and stylish, private hot tub, well worth a future stay. The shower block is huge with numerous showers, the drainage in the changing area is only a very minor issue. The site was busy on our arrival due to it being a Bank Holiday, but was followed by three quiet and tranquil days.
The only downside for us was the long walk to the refuse/recycling point from our pitch at the top of the hill. On the other hand it is better than having bins all over the site and it is good exercise.
An Asda Superstore is only a 5 minute drive away.
Day 2 we drove to Shrewsbury and benefited from arriving early to pay £3. 50 for all day parking. The towN centre is delightful ( a mini Chester/York) and The Quarry (a large grassed park on the banks of the River Severn, birthplace of Percy Thrower) is a great area for relaxing in the sun, exercising our 2 dogs. Alan Rowntree our Miniature Dachshund puppy loved it.
Day 3 we drove to Ironbridge Gorge ( 20 minutes) and thoroughly enjoyed Blists Hill Victorian Town and Ironbridge.
The next day we drove to Acton Burnell Castle (10 minutes), Church Stretton (20 minutes) and Ludlow (30 minutes) and would recommend all.
Overall we cannot rate the site highly enough and it is 5 star.

Mature couple, no children with us and no dog. Site definitely more suited to families-very very busy over the 2 days we were there. Toilets/showers state of the art except it looks like someone put the drainage channel in the wrong place!
Just had to accept wet feet as even after you are dry, the cubicle door opens inwards so you have to step back into a wet puddle to get out-as per another reviewer recommend either finish getting dry outside the cubicle or wear shorts/flip flops.
Ideal location to visit Shrewsbury-96 bus stop outside Salop leisure takes 10 mins to centre. We stayed here as wanted to see the site having read about it, but as we don't really need half the facilities we would probably stay somewhere next time in Shrewsbury but that doesn't reflect on the site. Excellent.

I decided to book for Easter after reading all the hype!
Having stayed for 5 nights I feel we cannot leave full marks as the site still needs bedding in.
Booking/arrival: had problems with the online booking, but easy to book over the phone. On arrival staff were friendly and helpful, with lists of info about the site, activities, pitch, etc.
Pitch and set up: our pitch was on the approach road to the higher part of the site, with no vans in front or behind. The pitch was very level although it had an odd slope at its entrance due to the terracing, and as we have a rear wheel drive this made it a little difficult to get on to the pitch as the wheels couldn't grip in the gravel, however a couple of helpful gents helped us push the van on by hand, wwhich was lovely.
The waste/water/electric bollard was at the rear. The beauty of this is that you can fill up with drinking water, and empty your grey and black waste in the same place. There are 2 taps: one for rinsing, the other for drinking water. You have to use green chemicals to be able to empty the honeypot, though.
Facilities: there have been many ravings and moanings about these. The facilities are all in a large block at the top of the hill. There's a launderette, washup room and mens and ladies facilities.
The shower/loo area is huge, and you gain access with a card. It appears that they can be divided into 2 sections during low season, but both were open when we were there. In the ladies there were about 7 loos and the same amount of showers, although one was out of order the entire time we were there. Toilet cubicles are very large, making them slightly smaller would have allowed for more. The showers cubicles are also large.
Clearly the site have listened to other reviews about these and have angled the shower heads so they don't spray out in to the changing area HOWEVER drainage is still a problem, as is the fact you can't turn off the water - it has to finish itself because the taps are electronic! Such a waste.
The drain is in the changing area of the cubicle and is bordered by a raised lump of mastic which prevent proper drainage, hence you stand in a puddle to dry, but at least your clothes don't get wet any more! I noticed, and reported, that the floor covering had raised up in places, and apparently this had been fixed previously.
The hand wash basins didn't seem to have plugs, and were serviced via a very fancy hands free tap, which had a 30 second count down, and hands free temperature control. I didn't see many people washing for 30 seconds, and again you can't turn off these taps - MORE water waste. Dyson hair dryers were a lovely touch, but one was placed nowhere near a mirror! Also two baby baths and drying stations, whic was a great idea. No privacy cubicles, though.
Yes they provide designer soap, shampoo and shower gel, but that money would have been better spent on more substantial fittings.
Washing up room was good. Nice and warm, hot water from normal taps, huge sinks.
Apparently there is a dog wash, but we don't have a dog!
Cleanliness: the site was largely spotless, although we found a lot of dogs mess round by the lake, next to a bin, which we found very disappointing, and which we reported. The facilities were spotless.
Reception block: this also doubles as a pizzeria/snack bar serving drinks, jacket spuds, homemade pizzas, cakes, alcohol, which you can take and drink overlooking the pool. We had a takeaway pizza and it was delicious.
Also here you can enjoy a free (yes, free!) hot tub, book to see a film in the on site tented cinema, and book on site activities. These are numerous and varied: from paddle boarding to the army style assault course, gym, yoga, massage etc. My teens went paddle boarding in the freezing lake and thoroughly enjoyed themselves. There is even a forest school!
The outdoor pool is not heated so its use is limited to the hardy or hot days. The kids adventure playground was appreciated by my older teens, and by many much younger children, and it was good to see that it was designed with all ages in mind, not just exclusively for little ones.
Surrounding Area: this is stunning. Shrewsbury is a fab place. Park and ride was £2. 50 for a group of 4! The town has many historic buildings and lovely one-off shops as well as the usual. The farmers market on Friday is excellent, and the eateries are second to none. Hubby and son went mountain biking in the Wrekin, Carding Mill valley is also close by. Lots of dramatic scenery to walk in. We spent the day at Blists Hill Victorian village, which was a good place on a wet day.
Eating Out: Ginger cafe in Shrewsbury was good. We drove out and found The Pound Inn, which did amazing food, big portions, locally sourced, and totally delicious.
So, our verdict on Love2stay. Would we return? Yes, in a year or so.
It COULD be a superb site, situated where it is, but at present they are trying a little bit too hard, and we feel it is currently a triumph of style over substance.

Just had a quick 2 night stay to try out our new awning. We only live 15 miles away, and bought our caravan from Salop Leisure who own the site, so did walk around the site last year. On first impression, the site certainly lives up to its first class reputation. Barrier entrance and exit, reception area which lads out to the Natural Swimming Pool and Hot Tubs (which we didn't try!). There's a cafe and Pizzeria. We had a takeaway pizza, cooked in the woodfired oven and it was delicious.
We arrived on Saturday, at the end of half term holiday, as we couldn't arrive earlier due to the site being fully booked. Every pitch was taken, but still didn't feel too busy. By Sunday evening it's was a much quieter site.
The Super Pitches are just that! Rock pegs are needed for awnings, and plots are either 9m square or 14x6 oblong. Each pitch has a bollard with a Sensor Activiated Light, Fresh Drinking Water Tap, 16 Amp Electric Connection, Water Waste Disposal, Waster Flushing Tap and Black Waster Disposal Drain (you can empty your waster disposal cassette directly into this drain if you are using green chemicals).
They currently have 12 seasonal and pitched on site which, we were told, have gone up to £4000 per year from this year!
The views of Shropshire and The Wrekin are beautiful, and the roads and pitches around the site are kept pristine.
The shower blocks are very modern and plenty of cubicles. I had my 12 month old grandson with me for 1 night, and there are 2 baby baths and changing stations in the ladies block (The men's had them too). One of the baths was full of water as the plug was broken, so I had to wait for the other as it was being used. This was broken all weekend.
We tried the cassette cleaning machine, but that wasn't working and my husband had to go to reception to get his money back.
There are lots of facilities which we didn't use on this occasion, due to time and temperature! Including Fishing Lake, Pool and Hot Tubs, Gym, Trim Trail, Off Road mini Bike Trail, Adventure Playground. They also have a dog walking paddock and Multi Sports Paddock. And a dog wash.
Absolutely LOADS of organised activities for children of various ages. We were given a daily activity list on arrival. Things included kayaking, craft studio, wood carving, campfire cookery, paddle boarding, orienteering, make a tool box etc etc.
All in all, a fabulous site. Definitely geared to families rather than couples or adults, in my opinion. We are booked to return in July for an event we are attending. So it will be lovely to try the facilities when it's a little warmer.
Just think they could do with a small shop for essentials.
Next door to Salop Leisure, so if you've forgotten any gear, you'll have no problems.

Well what can you say other than it was true to the rumours. Great location, amazing staff especially Megan as my son had a nasty accident banging his mouth! They were really helpful and supportive the whole time we were there.
The salop leisure was a bonus as I needed a water mains kit although the weather was cold it was dry. The shower and toilet blocks were outstanding and the super pitches are a great size can't wait to come back

Wow, what a site. Very modern and well kept.
Proper reception on arrival, where you are given security barrier pass.
Pitches are large catering the larger caravans perfectly.
Huge toilet block with plenty of showers and always well heated and very clean.
Great pizza take away.
Shame the prices have hiked so much for the summer.

A very modern, most impressive site! Stayed for 2 nights whilst visiting friends nearby. We used to live in the area so we know it well but since moving home we now need to visit the area quite often to see family.
The site is all shiny and new and very well run. We had pizza in the cafe which was lovely but there’s no other choice on the menu therefore I wasn’t interested in eating pizza again for a second night. If the menu was more varied it may encourage people to eat there more than once.
The pitches are level with taps as standard and have lovely views wherever you are.
The showers were first class HOWEVER- the person that designed them clearly doesn’t do camping. They’ve committed that cardinal sin of having nowhere dry to get changed. Whilst they have tried to make a shower and changing room as one unit - the spray from the shower falls just at the place where you get changed, thus wet clothes if you are not careful.
The “ice rink”was a nice touch for the winter.
All in all it’s a lovely site. I would give it full marks but the shower situation lets it down.

This site is quite simply excellent & is how every caravan site should be.
The toilet block is like a high end gym, large and immaculately clean.
Despite it being mid winter, we braved the cold and enjoyed the (free) hot tubs overlooking the natural swimming pool - though we weren’t brave enough for that.
The large children’s play area was also well enjoyed by our 3, 10 & 12 year olds.
It is also right next to Salop Leisure with a huge accessory shop & servicing for those that need it.
We will definitely be back.

We spent two days at Shrewsbury's Love2Stay this week and were very pleased. The site staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Our pitch was large and fully serviced. The facilities were spotless, warm, and of the highest standard. There is a bus stop at the entrance from where you can travel to Shrewsbury, Telford or Ironbridge. Shrewsbury is an easy cycle or even a walk (about 2. 5 miles). We walked along the Severn which had broken its banks a bit, but was nonetheless a nice stroll around 4 miles. The hot tub was also fun. A great upmarket site and not expensive given the facilities.

We booked to stay for 4 nights in our caravan from Monday 4th December. When we arrived the Reception staff made us very welcome and we settled in and began to enjoy our stay. Over Thursday night it snowed and we decided not to risk moving on the treacherous roads, again your staff were very helpful and an extension was arranged. It has continued to snow and we have extended again and do not now propose moving before Tuesday the 12th. During our time here in the snow we have been most impressed with the efforts that staff have gone to to keep the roads ploughed and swept even to checking that all campers are well, handing out pieces of paper with an emergency contact number and generally ensuring the safety and wellbeing of visitors. I am 71, not easily impressed and not known for bothering to write reviews so I hope readers take this, as it is intended, as a very high recommendation. WE WILL BE BACK and I will spread the word about the new way of camping!
