I stayed at this site in March. On arrival I met the owner who is the most friendliest person, he makes you feel you've known him for years
The site is situated approximately 14 miles from Edinburgh, with a nearby link for parking and travelling by bus into city centre
There are hard standing pitches as well as grass, with beautiful views over the Forth, my Motorhome is 9 mts long but this was not a problem
Book early and don't be disappointed.

I stopped at this lovely little site intending for a two day break on my tour coming down from Perthshire but liked it so much it I extended it to eight nights. I can't fault this site. The owner and his family are so friendly and helpful. There is a nice hardstanding area and plenty grass area with play area for children. The toilets/showers are spacious and plenty hot water. If you didn't want to drive, the local buses pass the gate on a regular basis going to Haddington or to the coast via Aberlady or to Edinburgh. Plenty local pubs, cafes and shops within ten minute drive. There is a little bit of bustle with the farmers at work, but hey this is the countryside. The views are astounding, looking straight across the Forth estuary to Fife. If you want good internet bring a T Mobile dongle, I got five bars all the time.
I'll be back again.

A lovely wee site. Owners are very nice & helpful. Site not open long so toilets are not finished but being built to a very high standard although the showers are available to use now.
Plenty hot water & really brilliant power showers. Took our 9 year old grandson who had a great time with owners children.
Would highly recommend this site & will definitely return. There is swings & a large trampoline for children & grandson loved the chickens running around.

Spent 10 days here early August lovely site, clean and well kept Eddie and family very nice and very helpful.
Toilet block has yet to be finished but is being completed to a very high standard, power showers etc.
Small drawback is traffic noise from road but this was not excessive and soon got used to it.
Very good location as a base to sightsee from ideally situated for trips to Edinburgh, Haddington, several beaches and much more.
Will certainly visit again if in area.

Just spent two nights at this lovely wee site. It hasn't been open long but toilets and showers lovely[even though not yet finished]
Only one toilet and shower for ladies and gents but only a small site so not a problem.
Well placed for lovely beaches and shops at Haddington only a few minutes drive away.
Our kids had a ball playing with owners children [in fact they kept us all entertained !] and several other kids to play with. Not much of a play area to speak of but not much space for one and they were happy just to run about with a ball.
Only one downside to this site was the road, very noisy early in the morning but if you got a pitch on other side of the field I don't think this would be an issue.
Would definitely stay here again.

Really impressed with this wee site. Eddie Ann and family were so helpful and friendly. Good hard standing area with lovely views over the Forth. We were in the paddock area nice and spacious with views over the fields.
Toilet block still to be completed but all spotlessly clean with lovely power showers and roomy toilet area.
Good bus service every hour from gate at site. Eddie no bother to him to give us a timetable.
Site well situated for the city of Edinburgh and also 4 miles from the coast.
We will definitely be back for another relaxing and happy visit.

We have just returned from the Steadings where we have stayed for the last 10 days.
The owners of this small site are a very friendly and helpful family, who made our stay very enjoyable. The facilities are a work in progress, but if the hot and powerful showers are anything to go by, it will be superb.
The nearby road can be a little noisy as can the cockerel, particularly when you are in a tent, but this did not spoil our enjoyment of the site.
Our children are already requesting a return visit and we will happily oblige.

We arrived here and were met by the site owner Ann who was very nice and offered us a position on the hard standing we had requested. We felt we had to refuse the hard standing as it seemed very close to the adjacent caravan and also would have meant that we would have been door to door.
We elected to put our caravan in the Paddock in a quiet corner at the bottom, or so we thought! The site owners were extremely helpful and made us feel at home. The facilities could not be faulted as they were still in the process of being completed, however it has to be said that the showers were probably the best we have encountered on a campsite.
The downside for me was the lack of privacy where the Elsan disposal unit is sited, it is also next to the dishwashing area. This minor point may not bother some people but it did bother me.
Noise, this has to be addressed as it was impossible to block out. There is Chickens and a Cockerel which may wake you at 0500hrs without a doubt. There is a Farming Produce Plant directly over the road from the paddock and the work goes on there all day and most of the night with heavy plant using it continuously and the beep, beep beeping of them reversing will drive you to distraction. Relaxing was nigh on impossible.
I cannot say if this goes on at all times of the year. The combine harvesters were reaping also on the last night whilst we were there and we all know that crops must come in but forewarned is forearmed.
We felt that we had to leave early and cut our break short as we could no longer tolerate the noise. All this should not detract from the fact that the hosts are genuinely friendly and helpful site owners it is our honest and true review of our stay.

Just back from staying 2 nights at this lovely site. The camping area is well kept with nice short grass and is spacious. The views from the site up the river Forth is pretty stunning. The new toilets that are on site have plenty hot water and the showers are roomy and powerful. We cannot say enough about the owners who were very helpful and nothing was a problem to them and its always nice to get a chat about the local area. Haddington is only a 2 minute drive away for all the essentials you may need (large Tesco).
We are already planning our next visit to this lovely quiet haven. Thanks.

This is a fantastic little site, based initially on a CL but is in fact open to all.
There is a paddock and also some hard-standing pitches (one of which we used due to the poor weather of late).
The shower/toilet block is lovely, and still to be completed. Hot, powerful showers. Just what is needed in the morning to wake one up.
Situated only a few miles from the historic market town of Haddington, it is also ideally suited for anyone looking to visit Edinburgh but not pay high prices to do so. It will take about half an hour to drive into Edinburgh.
Lovely views across the Firth of Forth.
The owners were lovely and helpful.
I would highly recommend this nice little site.
