My friend and I stayed at Herons Park for 2 nights. The site is quite small (maybe 30 pitches?) and is next to a go-kart track. We could hear the track sometimes during the day but it wasn't very noticeable and stopped at a reasonable time in the evening anyway.
The showers were VERY clean but were either very hot or very cold, depending on whether the other shower was on or not! However, the owners asked us about the quality of the showers one morning so I think they are trying to fix the problem. The toilets were also clean and well stocked with toilet paper.
There is a washing up facility, which was very useful but one night we were a bit late washing-up and there was no light! There is no playground but the pitches are arranged around the edge of a small field so there is plenty of space in the middle.
The nearest shop is in the town of Lydd which is about a mile away. We were pleased to find that the Spar shop was open on a Sunday! If you need to do a bigger shop there is a Sainsburys in New Romney. Camber Sands is a 10-15 minute drive away and is a lovely long sandy beach. As we were only there 2 nights I don't know what else is in the local area but we had a lovely time and would recommend it :)

My partner and I stayed here with our 3 kids, it is a lovely place,
We got two tents and the car on a pitch for £15 per night which we thought was very good,
The shower block was very clean, there was washing up station,
Fishing lake just next to field with fishing two rods for £5,
Staff were extremely helpful, and always checking if everything was ok and if we needed anything.
Was worried kids would get bored as no playground but they had lots of fun running around and Rye is only 9miles away and is a great town,
We are already planning our next visit

I stayed with my partner and my 2 boys, it was a very good campsite. It was very quite. There was no playground, however there is loads of space to play. The owner was really nice and pleasant.
The showers where a bit hot. There was no clothe washing facilities. The campsite just opened. The surrounding area is flat.
The nearest shop is in the village of lydd which is 1 mile away and there is a saisbury in new romney that is 3 miles away.
The beaches are new romney which is quite and very nice or camber sands which is very busy.
Overall a very good campsite. Would come again.

This 'hidden gem' of a site is nestled within easy reach of a Power Station, associated pylons, Go-Kart track, MoD manoeuvres site and an SSSI.
The website pricing indicates £9. 00 for a small tent and 2 people with 1 vehicle per pitch.
Apparently this is for 'walk-in' backpackers or cyclists. So we stumped up £30. 00 for two nights as there was only one other pitch occupied and only 4 more bookings had been taken.
Be sure to take Mosquito Coils, Anti-Mozi Spray, Bite Relief Zapper and get a fire pit to ward off the midges. Bring your own wood and an axe unless you want to pay £2. 00 for 'kindling' and £5. 00 for a bag of wood blocks ('enough for 2 nights'. !). And earplugs (see later)
Good size Boot Fair on Saturday morning then back to cook breakfast. Took the 'scenic' coastal route in the direction of Camber. Yes, this is England. Headed back on the A259 stopped off in Dymchurch (25 strong queue for the Car Park ticket machine), New Romney High Street shops and a beer then on to Hythe. Our New favourite town/village, gotta go there !
Having secured a broken pallet for firewood from a garage we returned to the site. The East Europeans to our left - did I mention them ? (5 persons, 2 tents, 2 cars) had been joined on the pitch to our right by a bunch of their fellow countrymen (2 tents, 6 persons, 2 cars, 1 blasting eurotrash pap muzak).
Couldn't get the bbq lit due to the wind so scooted down the Tandoori Cottaage in Lydd where we were greeted by a small-barrelled Cockney-Asian comedy genius and his sidekick, Apu. Good curry.
The muzak continued 'til almost 11, then a few fireworks and eventually the site warden came over and 'apologised'.
*Best bit*. Take the 'road' down to the 'Beach', a challenge for any suspension. Some lovely views of the Power Station, the chirping of crickets or was it the hum of the countless pylons (count them, you can't)and moors-like-desolation in the style of a litter strewn Army Playground.
£9. 00 a night would've been (un)bearable, but £15. 00, with no leccy, cold water for pot washing and queues for the toilets and showers is having a bit of a laugh really.

A quiet grass site with easy access to modern clean shower block and small information office. Waste disposal available. No playground but plenty of space to play
Good area for great birdwatching at Dungerness, and easy access to small town of Deal nearby and to ferries from Dover.
Really friendly owner who suggested local walks from site and places to visit and lent us local guides.
